He was "home". That's what his father called it, but he certainly didn't view it in that sense. It was a type of home. . . a home range, perhaps? It was his first real hunting ground. He had many fond memories here. He had some not-so-fond memories as well. Stupid dad. Stupid guards. Stupid kids. Whatever. It didn't matter. He was home for a 'visit' and he was going to make the most of it. He'd finally ditched Vespera and Snack in one of the rooms and was out to do what he did best; hunt. He was hungry. He was pleased, therefore, when he caught a whiff of something that smelled sweet and innocent and oh, so naive. He went into stalking mode, hooves silent even on the marble floors as he followed the scent of something small and the perfect size to take the edge off of his hunger. Gored Appearance: The odd substance injected into him has had quite the adverse effect. The lower part of his body is now completely invisible and will always remain that way. Even people with magical sight will have a difficult time seeing his rear end now. His front half is visible up to the rib cage but beyond that, there simply appears to be nothing. People who glance at him from behind will have the disturbing view of contained organs and other viscera as he moves oddly off. His appearance is now frightening enough that almost anyone would run from him screaming. If they don't, they'll probably tell him to leave before he scares some children. Cards ranked 4 and lower will run from him in terror, Aces cannot stand his presence.

Treasa was oblivious. That was a massive understatement. The girl was walking slowly through the halls, tail wagging eagerly behind her. She wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention to whoever else was in the hallway with her. After all, each window presented a new and interesting view of the outside, and that was more than enough to keep her excited. Her tail began to wag a little harder when she finally reached one that showed a view of the koi pond. It was one of her favorite places to relax, after all! Either not noticing or ignoring the sound of hooves on the marble behind her, Treasa jumped up to lean her upper body on the sill, staring out at the bubbling little pool and all the silver shapes that darted just beneath the water's surface. If she wasn't aware of the horse that had begun to stalk her, she was even more unaware of the fact that her mother was also making her way down the hall, simply farther down. Rhiannon was still out of hearing range of both Coyote and Horse, but she could barely make out their shapes, and she found herself ducking into a nearby doorway to keep out of sight. Who was the Yarrow-looking-Equine?

In Treasa's defense, the pink and purple stallion had an entire life of practicing his stalking. As such, he slunk forward with the intent of being silent and, soon-to-be, deadly. She would be an easy catch, something he rarely gave himself. Normally he went for at least supposedly challenging targets.
Dealing with Se had put him in the mood for a non-challenge, though and it was nice to sneak up on the little bit of flesh. He was just a few yards away and moving closer. Any second now he'd be able to make his rush.
A little bit closer, just a little more, and. . . there!
Sometimes he hunted with abilities, but he certainly wouldn't need any of them against this little thing. She almost wasn't even worth the effort. Almost. The stallion sprung suddenly, allowing his hooves to abruptly drum against the marble floors; a sound meant to terrorize his prey.

The tail continued to wag, unassuming. The girl had no idea. The girl was fixated on the sight of those flashing bodies, beginning to wonder if she should perhaps go outside and look at the fish up close. It was an extremely tempting thought, but she was unsure. Would she get in trouble, going out there without a guardian?
Before Rhiannon could place the horse as the one she'd seen at the wedding, she was hunting the hunter. She followed close behind, her protective instincts kicking in the second she saw the predatory way that the horse was moving down the hallway. She suppressed the urge to growl, not wanting to make a single noise that would give her away. She would catch the creature by surprise and rip his throat out for even looking at her daughter like that!
Then the horse was running full tilt, and Rhiannon was too, throwing herself forward with the aid of her wings. She flapped hard, using the extra boost to send her, hopefully, right onto the broad back of the horse. There, she would grab on with claws and teeth.
Treasa whirled and yelped at the last moment, throwing herself up into the windowsill and pressing hard against it, her eyes going wide with terror as a horse she'd seen at the wedding and her mother came crashing forward. She let out a terrified cry, all the hair on her body standing on edge.
She didn't know what was going on, exactly. All she knew was that the man had been sneaking up on her precious little Treasa like she was a piece of meat. The fact that he was related to the Queen of Hearts paled in comparison to that, and her rage overtook her. He would pay for it.

His own instincts were honed to an amazing edge; perhaps it was a whisper of air or membrane, but the stallion suddenly lurched to one side. Claws raked down his left shoulder, opening crimson gouges through the pink hide. He muttered a curse under his breath, pale lavender eyes rolling to take a look at his new adversary. He slid sideways, letting his hooves glide expertly across the marble in a move he'd been doing since childhood. His ears flattened as a horrible smile spread across his face.
"Well, well," he sneered. "It looks like the appetizer just became a full course meal."
He began to slink around, closer to the child though actually to flank the woman. "Did you want to share? I think it seems a bit small for that." The blood continued to drip down his leg, but he ignored it as he threw his pain ability at the child then lunged towards the woman whilst she was hopefully distracted.
Strong Magical Ability: When activated, he can inflict mental pain on another card of any suit, once per day. The degree of pain is equivalent to a hammer being pounded away at the base of the skull. This ability has the unusual side effect of making other Cards pass out on occasion (Ranks: A-7 pass out after about 5 minutes, 8-J pass out after about ten minutes, Kings may withstand but will have to excuse themselves or risk losing all concentration, Queens probably just get very angry...) Pain Addition: When he activates his pain ability now it still stands as it was before for the separate ranks, but those of a rank lower than King will now have a new issue to worry about from Eir. (Though some Jacks may be able to fend off/do less harm) For the first ten seconds of his use of this ability on another Card, they will begin to attack themselves usually starting with their own arms or torsos they will claw, punch, bite, or kick at themselves for ten seconds, then simply succumb to the pain as before. When he takes his pain ability away, they will still suffer from the pain they caused themselves.

Everything about the horse set Rhiannon on-edge, and she snarled as he smiled. It was utterly unsettling, from his expression to the way he appeared to be severed at the waist. That was just unnatural, and her stomach lurched unpleasantly. Hadn't he looked somewhat... normal before?
"663399]Snack?[/b]" the woman said as she circled the man, her hackles fully raised even between the flare of her wings. She was pleased to see that claws had met flesh; now she just had to make an injury more... serious. "That's my daughter you're talking about, you miserable little bastard.[/b]"
But then her daughter was screaming in pain, and Rhiannon froze with a soft gasp.
"Don't take your eyes off him!"
It was the voice of her weapon that kept her on track, and she called the blade to her as the horse lunged. Too fast! She didn't have time to react, could only hope that the man would impale himself on the blade before he could really strike her. Every part of her was screaming that she turned to take care of her daughter, but she knew that if the damn horse managed to take her out then he would, apparantly, eat her.
That was beyond screwed up.
In the meanwhile, Treasa continued to wail, putting her head between her paws as she tried to block out the pain. But then her own paws started hitting herself, and she yelped in shock and horror. What was happening?

The #*&$ed woman had a weapon! He should have known. This sort of annoying surprise was part of why he tended to hunt lower ranks. Like Eights. He had to give a mighty push with his invisible hindquarters and even then the long edge of the scythe traced down his already injured side. He had too much momentum to just stop though by overbalancing away from the woman he was able to keep that long cut from being too terribly bad. It was, however, the most hurt he'd gotten to date on a hunt and that made him oh, so very angry.
"You b*&$^!" he snarled, not bothering to do more than glance briefly at the gash that swept along his ribs. He activated his pain blocking ability without really thinking about. Much deeper and he wouldn't have been able to do that.
He should have made the little brat just walk right up to him and now he wouldn't be able to tuck himself somewhere safe enough to even do so. Though it would serve the King b*&$^ right if he could do so now.
He sneered at the woman again. "The brat's going to beat herself to death while you're distracted." he informed the Heart. "Hope it's not yours."
Basic Magical Ability: He can ignore moderate amounts of pain for up to half an hour.

There was the momentary burst of pleasure as she felt the blade slice through flesh, and a deep growl of satisfaction rumbled deep in her chest as her yellow eyes glared at the half-horse. She couldn't look at her child, though. As much as it pained her, she just couldn't turn to her daughter, not with the more dangerous foe standing between her...
Treasa let out another pained sob as her own jaws began to worry at her forearms, tearing through her own flesh. It hurt so terribly, and all she could do was hope it stopped soon. Tears flowed freely from her eyes and she let out another whimper, looking up at her mother. The girl knew why the woman wasn't running to her aid, but it didn't make it any better. She wanted to be held! And then, as abruptly as it started, she stopped assaulting herself. The pain remained, and she continued to cry, but her paws were no longer acting against her own behavior.
For once, she wished that she had the same kind of tolerance as her siblings, and she activated her most basic ability. It did nothing to protect her against the hammering in her head, but it made the stinging in her paws that much better, gave her at least a moment to try to keep from distracting her mother from the bigger threat. She shrank back against the glass of the window, trying to get as far as possible from the terrifying horse and her mother, who's rage made her almost unrecognizable.
Rhiannon ignored the man's ramblings and lunged lightning-fast with the weapon, whipping its curved blade in a wide arc with intent to cut the man again, deeper this time. The scythe was heavy and difficult to use, but Rhiannon was familiar with every aspect of it. Even if she didn't hit, however, she'd make sure the man believed that she did, and she activated an ability that she was utterly familiar with.
Basic Magical Ability She can ignore moderate amounts of pain for up to five minutes.
Strong Magical Ability When activated, she can inflict mental pain on another card of any suit, once per day. The degree of pain is equivalent to that of a thin blade being pressed more and more closely to their throat until they can actually feel their jugulars being sliced into. This usually causes them to pause and cough horribly while they regain their breath. Once they cough, it stops her spell, but she can start it up again ten minutes later as many times as she would like. This ability only affects Cards ranked 10 and lower fully, it can be used on Jacks once a day, and doesn't affect Kings and Queens.

The woman swung again and she was better with the stupid scythe than he cared to admit. How could she be so bloody good--? It couldn't just be that she was a Heart; she must actually practice with the stupid thing which mean that was probably her pet weapon. He desperately wanted to break the freakin' thing.
Unfortunately, he didn't know any easy way to do that, so he'd have to come up with some other way of distracting her. The weapon was flying back his way again before he had time to even fully process the thoughts, but an idea flickered into the back of his mind. His instinctive reaction to the new plan was probably all that kept him from being eviscerated, though he was shocked to feel the edge of the blade cutting deeper and deeper into his throat. How? She had missed! He could see the weapon in her paws. He was retreating however, and continued to do so even as the terrible pressure caused him to gag and flinch so hard he began to cough.
His ears flattened as the pain and pressure finally dissipated, though the coughing continued. Even as he coughed, however, he lunged towards the girl. He was going to make this woman pay.

Things were not looking good, and even when the stupid horse was distracted she didn't have enough time to really get a good hit in on him. Her spell had an effect, but it wasn't enough! She cursed his rank, cursed everything about him, and let out a wild yell as she threw herself forward. Treasa just wasn't fast enough to get out of the way! If only there was some way to make the girl...
"MOVE![/b]" Rhiannon screamed around the weapon, the sound coming out muffled and not nearly as forceful as she'd hoped it would be. Treasa's body jerked, no longer in her control, and smashed through the window feet-first. Shards of glass flew through the air, their points sharp and glinting, and the woman winced as they cut her. She focused on her daughter, forcing the girl to run as fast as she could in the direction of the infirmary, keeping her control tight.
The girl needed to get away from here fast.
Then she lunged again, flapping her wings once to smack the horse with a gust of wind. She aimed to slice across the man's back, get his attention once more. This was her daughter! She just hoped that the shards of glass hadn't hurt the girl as badly as it looked like they would have... If they did, she'd kill the man. She'd kill him anyway, but that wasn't the point.
Powerful Magical Ability When activated, she can control the mind of a lesser Card for up to one hour, once per week. The individual being controlled would know and the degree of control is almost full. She can maneuver the person perfectly for a full half hour before they begin to look as though they are having a seizure. Their bodies will shake violently and some may even foam at the mouth as they subconsciously fight their way free of their captor. Once freed they will be fully aware of what happened and who did this to them and, though shaky on their feet, could potentially give chase. This ability works on Tens and lower...but only on other Hearts and Diamonds.
