After lunching in the park with a particularly unusual and gravid mustelid, Donnie figured it was time to find someplace to set herself up for the night. She'd saved on travel so that she could afford a good room for at least two or three nights and a few people on the streets had pointed her in the right direction, so now she was lounging in the lobby of a tall, well-appointed hotel near the center of the Capital and playing with her slithey. The creature rolled in the air around her hands, antenna tickling her furred fingers. Her backpack sat next to her, a few meager possessions overshadowed by the enormity of her harp. It was by no means full-sized, but it was the closest she could get while still keeping it portable. Apparently she'd arrived during some sort of business convention and so there weren't any rooms ready, but waiting an hour or so where they could see her would guarantee her the first free room after it had been cleaned. She was tempted to unstrap the instrument and play for a little while. If she sat here for much longer, she probably would. A roiling noise came from her stomach and she grimaced, running a hand down the fur of her abdomen in a vague attempt to settle it. Dinner would have to be soon, but she could catch that in the hotel restaurant after she got her room. Or maybe she'd go out. She wasn't really sure.

[I... really want to use this ability... XD ] Tegan wandered the Capitol for a little while. She was nearly in her teenage years and was getting more and more anxious to get out and see more of the world. She was supposed to be watching her half-brother, Andrei, but he'd gotten curious about the crowd of people of the convention and had gotten himself lost in it, leaving Tegan to search for the boy. She plopped down where she was in front of the Wolverine, not paying her much mind until she heard the woman's stomach growl. At first, she ignored the sound until an idea hit. She swiveled her head to look at the woman. She was... big... and she had a harp! Andrei loved music and would probably find that sound more interesting than adults talking about business. Thinking the woman wasn't watching, she took and ashtray off a nearby table and turned it into a rather large Fuji apple. She picked it up by the stem and brought it over to the woman, putting it down near her feet. "If I give you this apple, will you help me find my brother?" she asked, over-sized bat ears working on their own, searching for any sign of the lost Bat-Eagle. The rank of the other woman caused her short, stubby tail to flicker back and forth. She was a King, just like her!

Focused on the slithey twirling around in front of her face, Donnie didn't notice the young, furry girl sitting in front of her until the girl took an ashtray off the table and set it on the floor with a distinct enough 'clink'. She glanced down in time to watch the girl concentrate on something that was just barely blocked by her paws, before she actually approached the wolverine.
...had that really been an apple a moment ago? She eyed the fruit warily. It did look pretty good, though, and the child was adorable. Either she was in for a prank or she would have a tasty appetizer on her hands.
Bracing her elbows against her knees, she leaned forward and locked eyes with the girl. Kids could be cute sometimes, when they weren't being obnoxious, and she wasn't above looking for a lost child. "I don't mind helping you find your brother. I do mind getting a face full of something nasty. Reassure me that the apple's going to be an apple when I bite down on it and I'll help you out. Deal?"

[Ha! Slow muse return. Maybe Amhalghaidh will be next!]
Tegan nodded at the woman, putting the apple next o the woman on one of her bags.
"I can't look for my brother if you're mad at me," she nodded knowingly, "Spades are fast. My Daddy's one." She told the woman. For as much as the girl thought herself mature and wise, she was prone to childish ramblings from time to time. "And you're big, like Daddy..." there was a hint of jealousy in her voice. She wanted to be as strong as solidly built as her father, but here she was with her lanky limbs. Mom said she would fill out when she got older, but Tegan knew it was the blood she inherited from her mother. The blood that limited her choice of lovers and kept her out of the land where her magic would be the strongest. The blood from her mother also prevented her from having been born with wings.
"It won't change unless I want it to, and I don't, so you'll help me?" she asked, stubby little tail flicking back and forth again.

Odd little child. Donnie still thought she was adorable, but there was definitely an element of 'weird' to her. Maybe it was just the result of being a high-ranking child. She'd been a little off herself when she was younger. Really, it hadn't changed much. Sort of.
"Well, if your Daddy's a big Spade and you're offering me an end to my crippling hunger, I suppose I can't not help you look for your brother," she agreed in an amused tone of voice. She hoped the fuzzy little thing didn't do something to the apple, she really did, otherwise she'd find her 'Daddy' and give him - or her - a good yell for raising such an obnoxious little brat. Here's hoping that wouldn't be necessary.
Accepting the fruit, she took a cautious bite before relaxing slightly. It didn't taste at all off. Actually, it was one of the juiciest apples she'd had in a long time. Unless she ended up choking in the next few minutes, she figured she'd be fine. "Good apple, kid. So. What do we need to do to find your lost brother? What's his name? And... what's yours? Mine's Donnie, and this is Trudy." She pointed a thumb at the green slithey who had taken to sliding through the air behind her head.

Her flicking tail became a little blue blur as the woman accepted.
"My name's Tegan and my brother's is Andrei." Her parents had really taught her better in the way of manners, but her arrogance coupled with her one-tracked mind of finding her brother made her forget her 'thank yous' and 'very nice to meet you'. "I'm pretty sure he's still here, he likes to watch people and there are a lot of people in here. Play your harp, that'll definitely catch his attention. He's part Bat, like me, so he'll hear it over all the people talking." Her tail had slowed to a steady beat as she looked up at the ceiling for him. He liked to latch himself to the ceiling and watch people from above. She knew why, too. Hardly anyone ever looked up, so he could watch them go about their normal business, completely oblivious to him. Damned lucky brat.
[Yeah, sorry, she doesn't realize she's being rude sometimes XD ]

It was a wonderful day. Hadrian had vanished, leaving the only-slightly older Tegan to watch Seth's youngest children. That in turn meant complete freedom, which meant that things were awesome for the pair of 5-year olds. There was so much to see and do in the Capital, especially when they had free reign of the place! Raina skipped behind Sascha as they weaved through the market stalls, peering at strange objects and even stranger people. " Rai, Rai! Check it out, this guy's selling ACE skins!!" the boy declared, craning his long neck to look at the pelts that were currently on display. He didn't really have much of an idea for Ace rights, but he knew he loved looking at all the different colors of the pelts. He loved the many colors of the regions, and surrounded by pelts and people, he was almost intoxicated by it all. The grin on his face was from ear to ear. " That's so GROSS! It's still got EYE HOLES!" When he danced back to his sister's side, the human girl gave him a Look. " That is kinda gross," she said doubtfully. Why would people wear that? Didn't most of them have hair of their own. " We should probably find Tegan again." Honestly, she didn't mind being away from her half-sister, but people were staring at her and it made her feel rather uneasy. Sascha looked at her and shrugged, following her back to where they'd left Tegan. Once there, the pair froze a few steps away. Sascha elbowed his sister. " Who is THAT?" he asked, not bothering to hide his fascination with the Wolverine.

Bat? Well, that would certainly explain the huge but adorable ears of the girl in front of her. "Well, that makes enough sense that it might work. I was thinking of playing it anyway if I had to wait here much longer. Alright." Reaching over, she tugged the instrument free of its binding and settled it on the floor, sliding off of the seat so that she could sit around it in her preferred playing posture.
Once she ran her hands over the strings, she smiled and proceeded to ignore the girl next to her, as well as most of her surroundings. It wasn't a hostile audience, or even really a 'crowd', and she assumed it wouldn't be too odd for a Villa mix to pull out an instrument in the middle of the Capital. It certainly wasn't remarkable in the region itself, so she couldn't imagine them changing their behavior that much to suit the city.
She didn't notice either of the quite noticeable children nearby.

Tegan's ears then head swiveled around immediately at the sound of Sasha's voice. Oops. She'd forgotten about those two, but wasn't about to admit it. She walked over to them and herded the two of them to be in front of the Wolverine who she'd already forgotten the name of. She then looked up at the ceiling for signs of their brother. He wasn't that good at flying yet, but he still loved ceilings, his Bat feet and thumb claws well suited to it. "Look for Andrei," she instructed the two younger children. The young boy hung from the ceiling watching all the colorful people. He'd since given up on listening into their conversations, lost in their big words and business jargon. After some time, he heard a noise over the crowd. As expected, the melody caught his attention immediately. While he wasn't so good at flight, especially when he had to go up from the ground, he was good enough at gliding. After determining where the sound was coming from, he spread his wings and let go, gliding as closely to the sound as he could. Several of the adults ducked as he came to a low enough altitude, eventually colliding into the shoulder of an Avington who was looking to the sound. He climbed up the confused and shocked gentleman. " 'scuse, sorry, Mr. Can I use your horns, Mr.?" he took the stare to mean 'yes', climbed up the antlers, and launched himself again. He called out several 'excuse me's until he then met with the back of the chair with a dull 'thud' nearby Donnie. Little claws dug in, he climbed up the back and rested on the arm of the chair, feathered and leathered wings drooped over either side. All that climbing and gliding was really, really hard! He panted, pink tongue hanging out just slightly as he listened to the music. Tegan yipped and bounced over to Andrei. He smiled when he saw her at first, but when she grabbed onto him with her mouth by the scruff of his neck to pull him down he screeched: "NOOOO!" and grabbed onto the couch's fabric with his teeth, thumb claws, and feet. He hated being on the ground! His strength was severely depleted, however, and he let go rather quickly, unable to hold on. He supported himself as best as he could as she dragged him over to the others. She set him down, and he stayed down in a crouch, wings resting limply on the floor.

When the two children saw that they had been spotted, the boy scowled for a moment. The expression of distaste was almost immediately cut short as he cut his lip on his beak. "Ow," he muttered as he raised his wings, one thumb rubbing at the new cut. His fathers wouldn't be pleased... this was the third one this week! His sister looked at him, the corners of her mouth pitched downward.
"Careful, Sasch," she said quietly, leaning in to look at the cut. It wasn't as bad as the others, and their oldest half-brother would have the ointment that they used to put on his cuts with him. Wherever he was. Her attention was pulled from the eagle-bat's cut by Tegan's herding them towards the burly woman, and, a second later, by that same woman's playing of the harp.
Raina was transfixed by it even as Sascha dashed off in search of his brother. She stared up at Donnie, glimmering purple eyes wide with delight, thin fingers laced in front of herself as she just listened quietly. When the woman's playing began to slow, the girl clapped enthusiastically, soft face lighting up with delight. "You're amazing!" the girl gasped, looking from Wolverine to harp and back again.
Sascha, meanwhile, followed close behind Tegan, his little tail twitching as he looked out for his brother. A flash of gold and brown alerted him to the boy's position and he took off running - but he was not nearly as fast as the bat-coyote and didn't reach Andrei in time.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" he schoed his brother as he tripped over his talons, holding his body up with his wings. When Tegan began to drag the boy off, Sascha pulled himself off, following after the pair. "Captain Andrei!!! Take the tablet, quick!!!! Don't let her get your secrets!"
