"Though it would be nice to have something there when I have nightmares or it storms. I get scared so easily and am normally to stubborn to call to anyone..."
Well, that line got to him, he knew what that was like. He wasn't afraid of storms anymore now that he had a roof over his head, and the fact that he did was fully grasped by his brain, but the nightmares ... he still had terrible ones. They were awful, but he never cried out in his sleep but suffered silently waking up in tears most of the time. He didn't search for anyone because, well, he was completely embarrassed that he still cried and didn't want anyone to know, but that didn't mean she had to as well.
You can always find me if you have a nightmare... I ... I wouldn't mind, r-really. They.... aren't pleasant.
His eyes darkened for a very brief moment before returning to their normal hue, he couldn't help it, he hoped hers weren't' as bad as his. And, damn, she'd caught his comment. Well, of course she did, the only way she could have missed it would be if she were blind AND deaf. His cheeks darkened a bit more and he fixed his gaze on the table. This was so terribly awkward.
I ... do.... y-you're definitely prettier then me, at least.
The last was meant to be a joke, but he wasn't certain if his tone had reflected that or not.

Most nights, she was just lonely but when there was a storm of some sort... she wished so badly to have someone there to cuddle with. She didn't have a mom to care for her and Grandpa just... wasn't the mothering type. What he said made her smile though. "Really? Oh Tavor!" she got up now and hugged him tightly; she was so happy to have a friend that was so nice and she was always sure to tell him that.
Cute! She was just teasing him about the pretty comment, she knew better than that. It was still cute of him to say though; it certainly brightened her day. She had been doubting herself recently on everything because she figured there had to be something about herself that made her mom not want her anymore... at that thought, she frowned though she hoped Tavor hadn't caught that.

He hug caught him off guard as he'd been fixated upon the table and let out a surprised squeak. He hadn't thought it possible but he turned an even deeper shade of red. He hesitated a moment, not entirely sure what to do, especially since she'd managed to trap his short limbs in her hug, but, wait, he had wings right? He unfurled his wings and brought them forward, wrapping them around her. This was a Tavor hug, in all it's shy, hesitant glory.
He took a deep breath, trying his best to swallow whatever feeling this was, it wasn't fear, he knew what that was, it something else, something unexplainable. The unexplainable feeling is what stoked the fire burning his cheeks. What... was it? It was a happy feeling, Xylia made him feel it to, he wished he could describe it, but he'd push it back and try and get a hold of himself. He twitched his tail and peered down with a comforting smile, his cheeks still red but not scarlet at least.
I'm serious, if you ever need to talk to someone, or for someone to be there for you.... I will be. I promise.
He didn't want to say that with his usual stutter, somehow he thought that stuttering it out would taint it's meaning, but he was serious. He didn't want anyone to have to suffer at all and if he could help, well, he would. No matter what.

She realized what she was doing and that she probably embarrassed him badly what with his squeaking so she let go slowly. But then he caught her with his wings and that made her blush too, it was endearing to her and she loved that he was so protective of her.
"Thank you Tavor, you have no idea how much that means to hear you say that" She smiled sweetly. She felt all soft inside from his words but still managed to notice he didn't stutter this time.
"But enough of that... Hey Tavor... howsabout we have some cakes with this yummy lemonade" She smiled mischievously, she knew he had a bit of a sweet tooth like herself.
"It wouldn't hurt to have just one... right?" she giggled. He was a lot better at saying no to vices than she was, she really couldn't help herself sometimes.

Well, he was feeling far more comfortable, especially with his legs freed, and the shade of red that showed fully through the white portions of his fur paled a bit, but didn't fully disappear. He may have been comfortable this way, but the continued nearness of someone he actually liked still made him somewhat uncomfortable. But it wasn't a terrible form of discomfort, if that made any sense, it just... was. People and closeness were still strange to him but... he liked it, the bleeding heart that he was.
At her perfectly timed switch of subjects, and the flush he could quite plainly see through her predominately white coat, his smile grew. He reached forward and rubbled the fur on the top of her head, chuckling softly and nodded. No one else was around, right? What could one cake each hurt? Unless it was cocoa based, they were his favorite but.... wow did they ever taste bad with lemonade!
One wouldn't hurt.... just not a chocolate one... chocolate and lemonade just don't... mix as well as they should. Would you like me to get anything for you ...?
He let her free of his wings and folded them once more before shifting them a bit to get them perfectly back into place. If she was looking for someone to persuade her from getting some sweet treat, Tavor was definitely not the one to do so.

She noticed he was feeling more comfortable now and she was glad, she wanted him to be himself and happy around her. The closeness was nice, her family wasn't really the touchy feely sort and Cecilia would be horrified if she asked her for a hug. My god, she still made her call her Cecilia rather than mom when she visited; affection would have been out of the question. She felt happy around Tavor and showed it by nuzzling him cheek (in a friendly manner of course).
"No, not chocolate; I agree that would be awful. I was thinking more like lemon poppyseed. Get anything? No, please sit; you do so much for this family that you deserve a rest."
He had let her free of his wings and she adjusted herself and walked over to the cupboard. She grabbed two plate, silverware and two pieces of cake and walked back to where Tavor was sitting.
"Here we are" she smiled.
"I hope you like it, I made it myself last night to surprise everyone."
She was really proud of herself, she had done it all by herself just by following the book she picked up at the library. She hadn't tasted it yet so she hoped it was okay.

Well, it seemed that she had tried that combination at least once in the past as well, it was, truly awful. Somehow, though, he felt that word was quite the understatement but he couldn't quite find anything suitable to replace it. Ah well, not like Isolde really cared if he didn't have a wide vocabulary, did she? He figured the answer was no and just left it at that, no need to torture himself over amazingly stupid things.
He was mildly shocked at her words, he didn't really do that much. Sure he cleaned but that was about the only thing he could do, and he had so much to repay them for. They'd been so kind, taking him into their home, teaching him how to read, write and a myriad of other useful things. He also firmly believed they'd saved him from some unspeakable end in an alleyway somewhere, alone, broken and with no one to give a damn. His thought process made him shudder, fur bristling ever so slightly.
He perked again as a plate of cake was set before him and, mostly to shift his own mood, he decided to tease her a bit.
Well, if you made it I'm not sure it's safe to eat.
His tone was joking and a small smile rested on his muzzle so he hoped she wouldn't take offense to his statement. Even if the cake was disgusting he'd eat it with a smile just case she made it. He was just that kind of card.

It appeared that he was thinking something unpleasant so Isolde wanted to say something to cheer him up. She set the cake in front of him and was about to respond when he teased her about it; she laughed and came back with "Harhar Tavor, but Grandma gave me the recipe so I think you're safe" she giggled. She knew he was teasing, he would never say anything to really hurt her feelings and that was why she liked him so much.
"Well lets dig in then." Isolde sat down with a plate of her own and took a bite of the cake she worked so hard on. It was good! She took another bite; she could have used more icing on the top but other than that she was very proud of herself. Now was the test though; did Tavor like it? She held her breath and waited for him to try it and say yay or nay.

He grinned as he watched her, waiting for her to take a bite first before he followed suit. Oh! It was good, better then he'd thought it would be actually. His tail twitched as he munched away at the cake, completely forgetting for a moment that she was probably waiting for an answer from him. When this thought struck him he paused mid chew, a few crumbs clinging to his whiskers, and he started to blush once more. Really anymore it was surprising if the white snippets of fur on his face were painted with some shade of pink or red.
He swallowed and gave her a rather sheepish grin before lifting up a paw and wiping off the crumbs he knew were there, he'd seen one stuck to a whisker and could only assume there were more. He shifted his wings a bit before he found the words and turned a deeper shade of crimson once more.
I-it's very good.
However, he couldn't quite seem to keep his mind of darker things this afternoon, he'd come up with a plan and it was nagging at his brain. He had to share it with someone, but he didn't wish to worry Maxwell or Ophelia with it so ... maybe Isolde would listen? He shifted a bit more, the blush receding as he stared at the plate and his face took on a rather serious look as he seemed to be studying what was left of the cake.
C-can I.... t-tell you something?
