A poison of merriment? Meecha's brow rose slowly and she stared blandly at the bird for a moment. "Poison ain't merry." Meecha didn't give a swamp rat's ass what he did with that smelly stuff. He could drink it all day for what she cared, but she didn't want it.
Not unless he could prove it was really such a 'merry' thing.
Meecha didn't really approve of that thought either.
And then, of course, he mentioned coming back again. She stiffened and glared more intensely at Sabe. Why was he so damned determined to come back? Least he figured it out up front that he had to 'buy her friendship', so to speak. It was more worth her while to kill the filthy Outsiders that got into her portion of the swamp than to let them come and visit.
Even locals weren't high on her agenda of people to see... Though Kristoff had figured his way around her rather well, with her surplus of strange and delightfully unusual trinkets.
"You get a package from Kristoff, an' dat'd be enough. Oder den dat, you bring me sometin' special, sometin' I don't have an' can't get here... Kristoff would know. Den, den I'd tink 'bout lettin' you back in here."

It sounded outside as if the rain was letting up just a bit... though it was getting afully dark, which was another thing that he didn't like to fly through... the coulds hide things that made it easy to crash into. Expecally when they where low clunds... though if he could get above them than that would be something that would be marvoulous. He gave a sigh.
"Ye know that I can prove to you that this Poison could cause merry. If I could find a nearby town." he said lifting the flask again, there wasn't really that much left in it. It wouldn't even be enough to cause a buzz.
He stood up making sure nothing was in the way of his touching. He gazed about wondering what he could bring back that she didn't already have, mostly it was odd trinkets, but who knew... something so mundane could be quite valuable to the hamster. He gave a sigh lifting the package from the floor and setting it down on the table, there was no real use to hide it from her any more... she had probably done seen it before.
The Kahmden haron gazed back to Meecha, "Ye know... I'm going to have to take something to him to get something back." He said with a smile.
Sabe was always looking for a new friend, even the most vile of people he would try to make friends with before they would attempt to rob him or kill him, but Sabe had things in his possesion that would help him in those cases. Only the magical ability that he had would save him from the attacks from the people... blindness wasn't something that most people could counter quite easly.
"It be seeming that de rain be slowing. Would there be a town near by we could stop at first? I would love to go to a bar and show you the merry that goes on there." it wasn't as if he was attempting to get her out of the bog.. but the house was something else. he could tell that she lived a sheltered life, who wouldn't know what ale and the sorts did if they wernt sheltred.

Meecha narrowed her eyes at him, looking far from pleased at this prospect. There were people in the nearby towns. They were locals, yes, but they were still people, strangers... Not to be trusted, though they could be tolerated better than Outsiders.
Their mutual disdain for them was the only thing Meecha valued of them...
Oh, wait... That actually gave her a lovely idea....
When he asked about what he needed to take back, Meecha pushed the thought of the pub temporarily out of her thoughts. "I know dat," she said simply. With that she moved over to a piece of chord hanging from one of the walls. It had an odd assortment of things that Meecha had left to dry... including something that looked like a little bird wing; dried out and no longer rotting, but possessing all it's feathers. It was dab browns and most likely belonged to a pheasant of some sort but the little array of claws that she fished out later were far too big to be anything but those of a card's. It took her a few minutes to spin all of these items together but she did it without complaint.
She hadn't seen Kristoff in a while anyway. It would be good to make sure his attention did not stray... She liked the things he brought her.
Meecha focused briefly and did one of the few nice things she ever did: she hexed it with a luck charm. She only knew one, and it was considerably weaker than any of her true hexes..., but Kristoff liked those sorts of things and Meecha found it necessary to keep his attention.
When the necklace was done, she turned to Sabe and held it up. "Dat be wat ya need? I'll be wrappin' it up, don't want ya touchin' dat pendant." The luck wasn't for him, it was for Kristoff. As she turned to wrap it in some brown paper, where she'd been hiding it would be a mystery, she spoke up in reply to the bird's comment about the rain relenting.
"I know where dere be a town, an' I imagine it be'n big enough for a tavern." The hamster returned to him with the parcel, wrapping it in swamp reeds. "Dat were ya want ta go?"

The necklace that she was working on did look like something that he didn’t want to ever wear. So her stating that he wasn’t to touch it or even put it on was already done in his mind. He had no stomach for it in the first place. So he just nodded and waited for her to hand the package to him. When she had the package finished wrapped in swamp reeds did he finally receive it before he thought about what she had said in the first place.
Once the pendent was in his position did he state with words that were true, ”I won’t be touching it nor would I be wanting to know what it is for… I deliver what I have and no questions asked.”
With the mention of the pub back in mind did he quickly shrug it off, unless she herself wanted to go there, then he had no right getting drunk before he was finished dropping off all the mail that he had to, and the package that he was just given.
”I thank ye, but unless ye be wanting to go yourself, then I have no right getting drunk before delivering these messages and your lovely package to Kristoff before this, unless ye be wanting to go there yourself.” Else he was just satisfied that he would be able to deliver these messages after she showed him the way out of these swamps and then he might just come back one day.

Meecha inwardly pouted. She would have loved to throw him to the metaphorical wolves and watch him flounder... It might have given her a chance to grab more than a couple feathers. Or different sorts of feathers... She liked the pointy ones on his head... Blinking back to attention the hamster shrugged. "I be of no intention to be goin' into town u'less I have tah, since I don't den I won't."
The hag abruptly snapped her fingers, calling the red tove to her. When it arrived she quickly switched to the native Golfram tongue and snapped out some commands to the little beast. She ought to find out the state of the weather so that she could be rid of her guest as soon as possible. Lao was out and back again rather quickly, reporting with a negative chirp. No more rain. Or it had calmed enough that it didn't bother Lao. Worked for Meecha.
Abruptly she pointed at the door. "Are ya ready tah go? I kent fly so either ya'll be walkin' a ways wit more or I ken just point ya toward town, don't bother me none eitha way."

Sabe gave a nod and walked oustide as she held the door open for him, watching her hands out of the cornner of her eye. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, it was the fact that he didn't want any more of his pretty feathers to come up missing... like his long feathers that grew out of his crown.
Once outside he noticed that it was still abit light outside and that the rain had stopped. He gave a sigh as he heaved his packages that he had hidden for all this time. Delivery of the mail was top priority for him... if it was ever late he would really hate all that... and it would go aginst what he was all about... his morals and his honner. Which both were quite in high spirits.
"Thanks for the help... I am greatly appreciate that you be helping me with my exhaustioned."

Meecha's hands clenched the edge of the weathered wooden door as she watched Sabe walk out into the marsh at last. She could really only take so much of a stranger's company and Sabe was currently reaching the limit. Either he left now or her hospitality would be quick to morph into something far less pleasant.
"No need for thankin' me." Meecha grumbled as she shifted into her bipedal form. The stockier rodent body was better suited for scampering through the uneven terrain in the swamp, though considerably harder to follow for poor Sabe. "Stay close an' keep up. I be takin' ya to tha nearest town an' no further. Ya'll be able ta be findin' your way out from dere."
If he couldn't then he was a bigger idiot than Meecha presumed him to be and, possibly, downright terrible at his job. What delivery bird didn't know how to find their way around from even small towns? The heart of the swamp, maybe, but the towns? Even Meecha still knew that that was bad business.

It wasn't the fact that the heron did get lost often... it was more of the fact that he had already used his ability to find his direction before this. So he was quite out of resorces to find his way to even the largest of towns that were located in this region.
He gave a sigh as she shifted forms to better her movement on the grounds. Sabe wasn't really built for land travle but tried to keep up with his best of his abilities.
To tell the truth, The Kahmden heron must have found every root that he could trip on... for he tripped offten catching himself at the last moment. He cursed silently everytime.
"How far be this place?" he asked through a closed beak... this time his talon had gotten stuck in a very tender root. Pulling out did he realize that he had lost her...

Meecha could hear the heron tripping on roots behind her, stumbling blindly through the marsh. Stupid bird, stupid pretty bird. She kept moving onward, letting him struggle. If he wanted out badly enough, he'd keep up. Meecha just wanted to be done with the whole ordeal, the bird was straining on her nerves and she wanted her solitude back. Beloved, peaceful solitude... She couldn't see why anyone would want to spend all their time being harassed like this, playing guide for the stupid Outsiders. Bah! And then, not entirely unexpectedly, the sounds of tripping and stumbling faded. A voice sounded from somewhere nearby, she could have probably found it if she wanted to. But she didn't. "Stupid birdy," she hissed "I told 'im to keep up." Meecha glanced around a couple of times and, not seeing Sabe immediately, shrugged her shoulders before returning back into the swamp. He was on his own from wherever he'd wound up. (Erm, sorry. ; Meecha isn't uhm, very loyal... or anything, really. Sabe's on his own from here.)

Well once Sabe had gotten up did he realize that he was trully lost and now his only guide had went missing. For some time did he just stand their wondering what was going to come out of the swamps and gobble him whole. It was a scarry thought. Trully the heron wasn't thinking strait.
He was recooperated and the rain had nearly stopped. Once he realized this did he look around and open his ears and his attention. He heard something that sounded like it was laughter. When he turned in that direction did he notice lights.
Now he knew where he was. He was were he was supost to be. He oppend both his wings and snapped them down to get a upward thrust.
And away he went to the nearest town where he would move to the next area of deliveries.
