Isolde was upset but she couldn't help but smile at her new family. They were really cute and sounded well behaved, it made her proud to be their aunt.
"Well enough of this nonsense. Are you guys hungry? There's a cafe around the corner and I would really like to get to know you both better and to hear about your sister as well" Isolde said cheerfully. Though the situation sucked and she still didn't understand everything, she wanted to get to know her newfound family and she couldn't do that with a sour puss.
"Tavor? What do you say, think we could grab a bite and talk? We can go to Johnny's like we used to when we were younger..." she smiled.
It was almost bittersweet to mention their childhood, he had been everything to her and the greatest role model she had. Tavor was the reason she grew up with good manners and treated everyone kindly, she never told him how much he mattered to her though and that was entirely her fault.

That sounds like a wonderful idea Isolde ... it's on me.
He was trying to make her happy, but he would have bought her lunch anyhow. He hadn't seen her in a long while and she'd turned into such a lovely lady to boot! They hadn't done well staying in touch in the past but maybe, just maybe this little meeting would make the future better? The thought made his tail curl up pleasantly.
Brokat finally let his tag wag ever so slightly as he came out from behind his mother to inspect his Aunt a little better. She certainly didn't look anything like his mother but did any of his 'relatives' that he'd met so far have any closer appearances? Nope. So it didn't bother him in the least. And for once he'd finally get an introduction out before his brother did it for him!
I'm .... Brokat.
His overly excitable brighter bounded around them all in a circle, waving his tail back and forth happily as he did. This meant he wasn't in trouble and they weren't going home and... and ... lunch! He was awfully hungry, now that he thought about it. But .... introductions! He'd nearly forgotten them. He paused in front of Isolde and looked up at her with a grin.
I'm Casanova!

"Well it is very nice to meet the both of you, Casanova and Brokat" Isolde smiled brightly at the two boys. She started to walk toward Johnny's, gesturing for them to follow but stopped and hugged Tavor. He was her brother no matter how mad he made her.
"I love you Tavor, I know you hadn't met to upset anyone" she said slowly as she kissed his cheek.
Suddenly she remembered what she had heard earlier. "So. You said there was another one-a girl- right? Tell me about her? You boys don't pick on your sister, right?" she laughed. She was enjoying herself so far but she was far from over the situation as it were. She was still very much hurt because of Tavor and she wasn't going to hesitate to tell him either. She learned from Aeron that it was best not to hold things in.
"I want a burger! What do you guys think?" she asked turning to the boys.
The two really did look like Tavor though she guessed that Casanova's fire was due to their father. She always knew Tavor would spawn beautiful babies, she just didn't realize it would happen all so quickly. The whole situation made her kind of jealous to be honest. Tavor wasn't hers anymore, now she had to share him with this other person and now the children and she hated it. If she hadn't begun to love her nephews already, she would probably have resented them. Lucky she had a soft heart.

He wasn't expecting the hug at all and it brought a bit of color to his cheeks, not quite enough to show up under his white markings, but it was there. He returned the gesture though, pleased that there didn't seem to be anymore hard feelings between them. He brought up a hand and ruffled her fur, grinning mischievously as he did ... he knew she didn't like that but ... he couldn't help himself.
You know I'll always love you Isolde.
He grinned, flicking his tail a bit before giving her a quick nuzzle on the cheek. She may not have been related to him by blood but, like the rest of his adoptive family, he loved her as if she were. It put him in an exceptionally good mood to see her get along so well with the boys too, he always worried when they met new people ... he just ... wouldn't be able to take it if someone he loved didn't love his children as well.
We should get milkshakes too, Johnny's has the best ... if my memory serves me correctly.
Ah, yes ... Tavor's sweet tooth hadn't gone away and his mention of milkshakes made a certain little puppy with fire wings yip in delight.
Can we? Please?
Nova looked up, giving his mother and his aunt one of those puppy dog looks that only a canine could really master, his tail wagging slowly as he waited for an answer. He loved ice cream of any variety and as long as he kept his wings far enough away from the bowl, or glass, it wouldn't melt too fast either.
Brokat on the other hand, chose to answer his aunt's query about their sister, his big fluffy tail starting to sway back and forth ever so slowly.
Vesper's coat kinda looks like Nova's only more brown and she looks more rat then canine.
Nova flipped his ears back for a moment at the mention of his sister, Kat and her were close but ... she was the only card so far that could really get under his skin.
Vespi's mean.

It used to drive Isolde crazy when Tavor would mess up her hair but considering the circumstances she let it slide. I mean, it was Tavor! She enjoyed the reunion for a moment more and then perked up at all of them. The little puppy was so cute when he begged.
"Well Casanova, really it's up to your mom" she smirked at Tavor, she didn't want to look like the bad aunt saying no to her nephews already.
"Aw that's not nice, I'm sure your sister thinks you're mean too" she laughed. Brothers and sisters were suppose to fight but she was lucky, she couldn't really remember having that problem with Tavor ever. Of course, he was probably one of the most agreeable young men she'd ever met. He never really seemed the type to get into an argument with someone, not that she had seen anyway.
"Well gentlemen, if we're going to make it there before it closes we better get a move on" she teased.

He swished his tail at the thought of giving an already hyper active child sugar of any kind but shrugged it off ... it was a special occasion after all. He turned his gaze down to the excited little puppy and smiled.
I don't think a small one for each of you would hurt. You're aunt and I might even have one too ... if she's not to good for them now a days that is.
A mischievous little grin spread over his muzzle as he turned his head toward Isolde. He was kidding with her but he couldn't quite deny the fact that he wanted to see her get a little huffy over something.
Nova's tail picked up the pace a bit as he began to prance a circle around all of his gathered relatives, giving a few cheerful yips up at the two adults.
Ooooh ... I want cherry! They're good.
He paused his tail wagging momentarily to scrunch up his nose a bit at the mention of his sister,
No ... she's just mean. That's all Vesper is.
Brokat turned his head just then and gave his brother a little peck on the shoulder as a warning, he was close to their sister and didn't really appreciate him speaking of her quite like that ... even if she was mean to the fire winged pup.
She's nice to me.

Isolde narrowed her eyes a bit, she knew the score. Oh she huffed alright. "I'll have you know that I will be a dried up old lady before I'M too good for milkshakes. Maybe you're just too old to handle them" she poked. It was only fair after all, he started it. She was just goading him anyway.
"Before you know it Casanova, your sister will be grown and moved away and neither of you will be able to say anything about each other. You're all each other has in the world and it might be best you boys keep that in mind. After all, look at your mother and I. We haven't seen each other even since I moved to Kahmden and we were super close when we were kids. That could happen to you too..." she sighed. All those wasted years...
Ah well, all she could do was live in the present. As they approached, she grabbed the door for the kiddos and held it open.

His grin broadened as she teased him back ... just the reaction he was hoping for really. She was one of the few people he felt comfortable enough around to tease, even if it was just slightly. Really he just enjoyed seeing her get all ruffled ... it was kind of funny actually. He curled his tail and chuckled lightly, enjoying the twist the day had given him more then he'd initially thought. At least she didn't get super angry at him for not seeking her out... he'd just been, well ... really busy between the kids and work and his garden.
His attention turned to Casanova for a moment and a very light frown touched his features at the boy's words ... he really wished they'd all get along, even if Vesper could be a bit difficult. However, Isolde's words drifted to his ears next and they made him feel rather guilty. Pale ears drooped to the side a bit ... suits, he was a jerk wasn't he? But ... he hadn't done it purposely ...
Suits I'm sorry Isolde ...
The children blissfully ignored the adults as their destination seemed to materialize in front of them and Isolde was holding the door open. Cas was the first one in, brushing past his brother and managing not to singe any of his fur and Kat followed, he was feeling far more comfortable around this aunt of theirs.

Isolde followed the boys in and gestured for the waitress to seat them. "That'll be for four, right darlin?" she asked.
"Yep, that's right. And make sure you tell Johnny that Tavor and Isolde say hello" she said excitedly. The (now probably) old man was always so nice and gave them extra toppings on their ice cream whenever they came in. She hadn't been here in awhile but she couldn't imagine Johnny to being there.
"Oh honey, I'm sorry... Johnny passed away last month..." the waitress seemed awkward as she led them to their table.
"Jennie took over shortly after and just decided that keeping it Johnny's would have been only right" she explained.
"I-well... i see... please give Jennie my condolences. I can only imagine what she's going through right now. If I can do anything, and I mean anything... please let her know I will. They were like family to me as it was..." she said quietly.
"I'll give you guys a chance to decide what you want and I'll be back in a minute" she said running off to break up a fight.
As the waitress walked away she turned back to the fellas. "Well let's not let this ruin our time... what's everyone getting?" she smiled weakly. It was sad but she wanted to have fun with her family.
