He smoothed out his fur as he walked, feeling rather, well.... naked without his suit. He hadn't intended on being out and about in this particular form today but, well.... someone had decided they'd give him a bit of trouble in the seedier part of the city. He hadn't been looking for trouble but, well.... the look of shock that crossed his would be assailant's face when he turned the tables had been oh so satisfying. He was well aware of the fact that his oh so shiny fur and the ribbons he wore, which were presently askew on his tail and in his messy hair, made him look like an easy target despite his rank. He brought up a hand to run clawed fingertips through his hair before he paused at the ribbon and undid it ..... might as well take that one out for now until he could find a reflective surface in which to fix his hair back into a neat ponytail again. He wrapped the purple bit of cloth around his wrist, he didn't exactly have pockets after all, and tied it into a bow on his wrist using his other hand and his teeth. After that was done he went back to combing those shiny strands of emerald back into place with his fingers ... and that's precisely when he caught sight of a ... Villa? Well, he'd just have to go introduce himself! Not only were they a shade of his absolute favorite color ... but they generally had some kind of musical talent. He kept blank silver eyes on his quarry as he moved forward, not quite able to keep his predatory nature from slipping into the way he moved.... but at least he fixed a genuinely cheerful grin on his face. Well hello there stranger.

Colin was once again out on an errand for his mother, this time of a more personal nature...er, if trying to find a shop that sold the very specific kind of candles she wanted counted as personal. So far, no dice. Why was she so darn picky? His lazy search of the streets for another shop to check was interrupted as a slight chill went up the back of his neck. He felt like he was being watched. Shrugging it off as being tired after a long day, he ignored the feeling...until a voice came from behind him. Keeping himself as composed as possible, and proud of the way he didn't let his unease show, Colin slowly turned to face the stranger, and found himself face to face with...a ferret. Lowlands. But looking very much healthier and...not-rotting than any lowlander he'd ever seen. That and the fact that the other Card was a Queen kept Colin from just attempting to ignore him. " Hello, sir," he said politely, affecting a slightly curious and very nonchalant look as he regarded the other. He inclined his head slightly to show respect, as he had been taught to do nearly from birth by his class-conscious parents. Surely this man wasn't a TITLED Queen? He WAS still a Lowlander, no matter how well-groomed he may be. Well, just in case, he refrained from addressing the man until he introduced himself.

Had he known just how many people mistook him for a ferret he might have screamed and broken something. No, he wasn't some silly little ferret; his opinions of them were a little skewed from his dealings with a certain family in the Spade court, he was a far more fitting mix of weasel and rat. A damned pretty mixture if he did say so himself since he'd managed to inherit the only attractive feature the vermin half of his parentage had .... that long, sparsely furred tail.
The corner of his maw twitched upward a bit more as he was addressed, courteous little thing wasn't he? That was good, rudeness was the fasted way to prod at his wildly unpredictable temper. Hum, and the boy was a spade? Pity he was a bird .... feathered creatures just... weren't all that tasty.
He curled his tail up into a pleasant little 's' shape as he regarded the avian for a moment more before he spoke, keeping his tone light and friendly.
You looked a little lost a moment ago, might I ask why?
Oh yes, he had manners as well what with being raised in a Court ... he just generally chose not to use them.

((ooc: XD Sorry about the ferret thing...that's why I should not have posted at 1:30 in the morning. I went to bed and was all "arggh he's a weasel isn't he?" Anyway.))
Colin hadn't lived around too many Mustelids, and therefore didn't really know the difference between a weasel and a ferret. Luckily for him, he wasn't in the habit of addressing others by what species they were; he HAD met some people who did that and thought it was rather rude. He frowned a bit at the other man. Something seemed...off...about his eyes. They looked rather glossy, though he didn't allow himself more than a glance; staring was rude too, even if this Card did seem very unusual.
He hopped a bit out of the way of the main flow of pedestrians, seeing the other Card wanted to talk. He felt an uncomfortable flutter in pit of his stomach. How long had this guy been trailing him? And had he really seemed that out of place? He didn't like that thought. People who looked 'lost' tended to draw the wrong sort of company fast, even in a place like this.
He shook his head, managing a smile. "Oh, no, I'm not lost," he corrected the other carefully. "It's just that I'm trying to find something very specific, and none of the shops I've checked seem to have it in stock." He considered the other man a moment, wary, but polite. He'd done nothing untrustworthy yet. "Thank you for your concern," he added, hoping the man would either introduce himself or go away.

He listened closely, pointed ears twitching every now and again to catch the Villa's words just right. Facial expressions and voices were two things he had quite the appreciation for.... and was well aware of how odd that sounded. But, really, he didn't need to try and impress anyone... he did it naturally after all. Because.. .really .... how could he not?
Well then, perhaps you just haven't checked the right area? The closer you get to the outer bizarre, the more interesting and unusual your finds.
He made a gesture with his hand in the general direction of the outer bizarre, one of his favorite haunts, before flashing the cardinal another smile. Hum, he had some extra time today ...
If you'd like ... I could be your guide. I'm a regular there, so my help would probably cut your hunting time in half.
And, of course... give him time to really deice if he was going to try anything... or just use this as an opportunity to practice his acting skills.

Despite trying to keep his composure and remain neutral around this stranger (people were always strangers until you knew their name and they knew yours), Colin's eyes widned in alarm at the mention of one of the less savory areas of Capital City. He had never set foot there and, Suits willing, he never would. "The Outer Bazaar?" He sputtered a bit before hastily smiling in a way he hoped would cover his nervousness. "Oh, that's hardly necessary! I'm just looking for candles!" Very specific, pretty candles, but still!
He hesitated, considering...if this man could help him find what he was looking for, it would definitely make things easier. On the other hand, the thought of going into that place, even with a guide, was distinctly unsettling. "Well...if it wouldn't be too much out of your way, I suppose," Colin hedged, then he fixed the weasel with a sharp look. "Though if we're going to be...hunting together, we should at least know each other's names, don't you think, Sir? Mine's Colin." If the other seemed reluctant to give his own name, the increasingly-sucpicious and unnerved Colin might just bolt. The only people reluctant to give out their names were either paranoid or up to something, and the almost-overly confident mustelid didn't seem the type for the former.
