The mix sat humming to himself happily. It really had been a while since he had been to the Marsh. Having grown up there for the majority of his life he had an affinity for it beyond words. This was where he felt at home the most. All of the deadly traps and the automsphere was something he just found invigorating. Glancing to his right his eyes landed on the winged-mix. All considering everything was going quite well today. At least . . . less people had come into the competition of keeping their life today then was normal. It was definately a good sign. Glancing at the sun he wondered where their appointment was. Looking over to Ira he raised his eyebrows in question. Did they not know that being early to an appointment was expected. Becoming restless he started to pace, something he had picked up from hanging out with Se.

Ira smiled sagely at the mouse hybrid, humming gently under his breath a rather bawdy tune that Eir had once adjusted the words to so now it had sex and bloody gore. Oddly, Eir's version had not caught on with the common Card. Too bad. Despite the fact that the incoming family could be considered late, the stallion didn't appear to be even the least bit concerned. In truth, he wasn't. His tail flicked idly, but it would be difficult to see that as his long, green tail was hidden beneath the ruffles of his skirt. [/color] His purple-tipped tail flicked idly from one side to the next and he seemed set on ignoring everyone. He was here because Ira had dragged him out and his mind seemed to think it was a good thing, because it had come along for the ride. Even though he hated the Marsh, his mind had long since been giving him hints that he needed to return. Utterly ignoring the fact that his eldest brother was in a dress-- again-- Se let his pupilless gaze wander the edge of the Marsh with extreme and complete disinterest. He trusted his mind to show him whatever it was he needed to learn out here.

After a few more minutes the mix became fed up with the pacing, it was only wasted energy after all, and sat down near Se. Giving a long sigh he laid his head down on his paws, glancing up at Ira in his dress from the ground.
It really did amuse him that Ira seemed to have picked up a few habits from someone named Iphis. If that was the case then he was not sure he ever wanted to meet this Winged-%@#^.
Making fun of Ira in his head for a few minutes, things he would never dare to say out loud - his life was indeed something he took great value of - he then turned an innocent expression up to the canine. "How much longer?" He really wanted to get this started.
Waiting for the male's reply he started to plot all of the troubles he could get the patrons into. Of course they would all have to happen by accident, and nothing could be too serious.
That would be bad for business.

(OOC: Sorry I'm late. I had computer trouble) The Rosiers arrived fashionably late, at Esme's insistence. She hadn't wanted to come at all, but the grande dame had put her foot down, and that was that. The ermine had to go along with the ocelot, for she lacked the power and the resources to challenge the ocelot. Especially with her mother backing her. But the ermine definitely could make things difficult for her, and the mink. Reine frowned. She hadn't wanted to support to the Spade, but she'd wanted to see the Josiggy Marsh. The bright green equine had made quite an impression, for the Yarrow Diamond to want to leave the Gardens, and enter the waterlogged meadow lands that made up the Marsh. And Sarai, naturally, had agreed with her sister. -- Ermine, mink, vermin and ocelot, seldom acted in concert, but today, all four stopped, and stared at the bright green equine. Ira. There was no mistaking that form in a dress. She looked like a man. Souris was the first to approach the equine, smiling brightly, "Hullo, Ira, right?" while the other three lagged behind, nonplussed. Reine deliberately kept her face netural, while Esme deliberately turned her attention to the other Cards...

Ira tilted his head and beamed happily at the party-- fortunately unaware of any thoughts about how he didn't look like a woman in his very nice travelling dress that he had pushed Iphis to make for him-- and said in an entirely unpointed tone of voice, despite his words, ""Of course, Ms. Rosier. It's wonderful to see you and Ms. Esme again. It hasn't been that long since Aunt Rhea's garden party." A few months or so, and he had been quite pleased to set up this tour of the Marsh.
Se half-turned his head when the women arrived and he immediately hated them both. He had a suddenly sinking feeling, however, about why Ira had hauled him out here and he was pretty ticked off about it. His fur was bristling upwards, and his wings mantled almost threateningly. He did not like where this was going.

Hearing the new voice he turned to see who it was that had arrived. Spotting the mouse he lofted a brow in question. He was not quite sure what to make of the female. There was something about her that he did not like - not that there was much of anything that he did like on a regular basis.
Nodding his head to her he did not offer anything else in greeting. He was here for the fun and to take care of Se, anything and everything else simply did not matter.
Speaking of which . . .
Turning to see how the winged-mix was taking everything going on he saw the tension building. Well that would not do any good, He thought to himself.
Prancing over to the winged-mix he plopped himself in front of the male. "Lets go!" He stated before turning and walking off without another word.

The Misses Rosiers were naturally, too well-bred to say any such thing to Ira's face. Behind his back, however, was another matter. Or would have been, if the Misses Eumeleia hadn't acknowledged him. Esme smiled, sweetly, watching her daughter fought to hold her tongue. "And I must introduce you to my grandmother," Souris said, her tongue tripping over the words as she struggled not to comment on his un-feminine appearance, appearing to be completely unaware of the stranger's appraisal, but returning his nod politely enough.
She indicated the mink standing next to her great-aunt."Miss Ira...Eumeleia, may I present to you Miss Sarai Rosier? Miss Sarai Rosier, Miss Ira Eumeleia." Emphasis on the social difference between King of Hearts and King of Diamonds, subtly, she thought. Sarai smiled indulgently, letting the silly mouse get away with her un-subtle introduction. Esme snarled, silently, and would have slapped the pathetic mouse, if Reine hadn't caught her hand. Discreetly, so Souris wouldn't see.
All four Cards ignored the bristling, hulking mix for the moment, trying to avoid his unsettling, pupil-less gaze, despite the mantling wings, only to stop in astonishment as the strange bovine mouse placed himself before the terrible, canine equine, told guides and tourists alike, "Lets go!", turned, still giving the canine equine his back, as he walked off.

Ira bobbed his head at the new acquaintance, then beamed as the bull/mouse abruptly took the lead and stalked off. "Have a lovely trip!" The King of Hearts tilted his head and waved them off with a happy little twist of his tail.
Se's ears were still flat and he shot his eldest sibling a look of undisguised hatred, and then rose and, with his own tail lashing angrily, followed his mind with a stiff-legged walk that very pointedly implied that no one should talk to him, at him, or even look. This promised to be a very awkward, uncomfortable trip for the Yarrow women.
Ira waited until they were all, more or less, moving off together, then hopped up himself and began to skip back down the road towards the Capital. If he kept a good pace, he could catch the next express stage to the Court of Hearts.
(( Ku-chan voted for ending this as well since it's so far outside of our timelines. ))
