That part was vaguely humiliating, but in his defense, he had no idea that the woman had been planning on actually attacking him. "She caught me by surprise," he mumbled, feeling a flush rise to his cheeks. He knew he was a better fighter than Peaches. That was part of why he was so pissed off about the situation. He could have hurt her so badly, but he didn't, and he was still being painted as the bad guy.
The only person who had a damn right to slap him or threaten him was Eldy, and she hadn't attempted either since she'd been back. She'd just sent her mother to do it for her.
He'd wait to actually talk about what he was feeling with her until he felt like they'd reached wherever it was that she'd been planning. He could feel himself relax as she tugged him along, her grip on his hand somehow soothing. He knew where they were going, too. He loved the little pond. It was always quiet there, unless he was visiting it with someone.
Then it could get quite loud, but he wasn't counting on that today.
With a quiet grunt, Apocalypse sat beside Spekkio, crossing his legs and leaning forward slightly. He stared at the grass, picking at it. It seemed like he was going to need to start at the beginning. "She's really mad at me. I uh... I never told you about this. After I got my ass beat by that Joker... I ran into Xiven's sister." he chewed on his lower lip, then glanced up at the Weapon. Would she be mad at him? "I don't know why I reacted so badly, but I did. I.. uh. I kinda tore her ear off."

Spekkio smiled faintly as they walked. She could feel him relax from just his grip on her hand. This was good.
As he spoke, her head tilted then she leaned toward so she was almost propped up on her knees and looked directly at Pale.
"What'd she do to make you do that, hnn?" Her free hand removed itself from the grass and stroked the back of Pale's hand. She knew there was a good chance the Torquehelm Feline didn't deserve such a treatment; however, Pale was here to get somethings off his chest. She would hear out everything he had to say and remain as nonjudgmental as she'd always been with him.
The thought of him harming Xiven's sister made her worry. How did Xiven react? She knew he cared for her deeply, and her being made at him had the potential to destroy what they had.

He found himself watching Spekkio's face closely, analyzing every little change in expression and wondering what was going through her mind. It didn't seem like she was angry with him, more curious than anything. He leaned a little closer to her as well, bumping his face against hers. He nuzzled her neck, then leaned back to his normal sitting position. Slowly, his hand turned under her own, tickling her fingers playfully.
How could he answer her question? In truth, he still wasn't entirely sure what had set him off like that. He gave a small shrug, watching his own hand as it interacted with Spekkio's. "I don't know. She hissed at me, and she recognized me, and... She looks so much like her bloody mother." He grunted, pushing himself up a little further, his lip curling. "When she knew who I was, it set me off. Bernard told me... People couldn't know about who - what - I am, what happened. All she saw was the weapon."
He went quiet, considering the statement, his fingers tracing a line across Spekkio's palm. "...It scared me. I overreacted, I just had to know that she wasn't going to tell anybody about me, about what had happened." He knew it had something to do with his own upset over the change. He pressed his face into his hand and sighed. "...Peaches found out about it today. I guess Eldy finally came home."

Spekkio listened, letting him finish his thought without interrupting. She nodded slowly when he was done then move to kneel behind him and began massaging his shoulders gently.
"It wasn't the right thing to do -- and I think you know that -- but your actions makes sense. What you went through was a strange and crazy thing. The consequences of that secret getting out is scary. It's hard to weigh logic against those emotions," she leaned forward to reach her head around to kiss his forehead, "And the fact that she does look so much like Peaches... well. That would exacerbate things." She draped her arms around his shoulders and nuzzled her face into his neck. Her hands gently ran over his chest as they curled to wrap loosely around his neck.
"You told me about what happened and how you felt then, what about now?" she said quietly as she brought her head up to brush her cheek against his. She was still a Weapon. As far as this subject went, she was the one who would understand him the best.

One of the things he enjoyed about Spekkio was how physical she was. He was also a rather touchy person, and being around someone who seemed to be equally interested in keeping in close contact with him was a lovely thing. That wasn't to say his other lovers didn't, but the Weapon had a much more eager nature. Apocalypse shifted in her grip, turning to face her. He wanted to see her face, for reasons he couldn't fully comprehend.
"It did," he answered quietly, wrapping his arms around her and resting them lightly on her shoulders, slowly sliding them along her back as he let out a soft sigh. She kept getting closer... His hands settled on her hips, then wrapped fully around her back, urging her a little bit closer. That would probably draw her completely into his lap, but Apocalypse wasn't about to complain. "And I know I fucked up. I really do. I just wasn't coping. You know... Rhiannon's been spending time with Xiven again. Not a lot, but..." Ugh, he just couldn't finish that statement.
He was, in his own way, afraid.
And how did he feel now? He felt guilty, somehow. Here he was, in the arms of a woman who he knew loved him, complaining about another lover and his issues surrounding her. Did Spekkio care? He leaned in, giving her a soft kiss. "Now... Peaches found out. Xiven knew already, from when it happened, but no one ever told Peaches." he slowly ran his nose along hers, a smile twitching at his lips. "Let's just say she wasn't pleased. She came in and slapped me, threatened me. I told her to remember her place." he laughed, a quiet, breathy noise.

Spekkio allowed herself to be pulled around and set down in his lap. She pet his hair and gently ran her fingers across his neck and face as he spoke. Her fingers twitched and tensed. If there was one thing she couldn't stand (other than 10s), it was Rhiannon. What was she doing spending time with Xiven again? If that whore was working to take away something else from Pale, Spekkio honestly didn't know how she would react. Her hands balled into fists, then relaxed and went back to her petting.
"But...?" she asked. Her tone was gentle, leaving out the air of demanding from the question that she was feeling. If he didn't want to answer, he shouldn't feel obligated to. Still, she wanted to hear what that conniving wench was up. She always felt a small pang of jealousy whenever Xiven came up in conversation. She assumed it was because she wasn't used to sharing anything that didn't belong to Heilyn.
"Hnn. Didn't she think that maybe Eldy toed over the line and it was a blessing she came out of that alive? Her anger at you is understandable, but I say lesson learned. Something this sensitive is not something to be taken lightly by other people. Eldy knows this now and perhaps with watch herself more closely in the future," she said, speaking largely from her bias from being a Weapon.

Though the movement was small, almost unnoticeable, Apocalypse was aware of it long before the girl actually balled up her fists outright. He had seen Spekkio react like this before, always when the subject of Rhiannon came up. He was interested in it, but not enough to confront her, to find out why it was that the woman made her so angry. After all, Heilyn didn't seem to hate her daughter, but he couldn't say for sure. Sometimes he wished he hated his ex-summoner.
It would be easier, after all, to just hate her. As it was, he was stuck in a limbo of back-and-forth emotions that made him tense. He could feel the woman shift uncomfortably in the back of his mind, and he did his best to ignore her. After all, this was his time with Spekkio, and he didn't want it to be tainted by someone else's thoughts.
As soon as her fingers were close enough to his mouth, Apocalypse snapped at them, lightly catching one between his teeth and closing his eyes. The bite turned into a lick, which then melted into a kiss. It delayed answering her question, which he liked. "But nothing. I have no right for jealousy." he replied shortly, though his irritation clearly wasn't aimed at her.
He just didn't know what to say.
To her next question, the man simply shook his head. "I don't think the thought began to enter her head. I guess she's still mad about Xiven's ear... But that was... Ugh, that was different." his arms went around her waist and he tugged a little harder, burying his face against her shoulder and sighing deeply. "I don't think she realized exactly what she was doing until she felt the pain ability and saw me holding Rhi. I could have killed her so damn easily, Spekki, and I didn't. After what she did to me..." he went quiet for a moment, squeezing her again.
"Now Xiven's mad at me for making her mom cry." he said after a minute, laughing quietly.

Spekkio furrowed her brow and poked her lip out a little, making an annoyed look.
"It isn't about jealousy, Apocalypse. It's about keeping her in line. She's already done enough to betray you. She's the Weapon now. She should have shown you loyalty before the switch anyway, but the fact that she continues to display her back-stabbing selfishness at your expense is quite disturbing," she sighed and closed her eyes, opening them again slowly, but not quite meeting his eyes, "But I suppose if she doesn't actually take Xiven away from you, I have no reason to complain." Or give that bitch a piece of my mind.
She looked back up at him and let her hands wrap around so her arms were resting on his shoulders.
"I... I really feel Xiven should come round. Her initial anger is completely understandable. It's her mother. However, considering the stuff Peaches made you go through for nothing other than her own amusement... Really, she had it coming." She nuzzled her face against the side of his head.
"You mean a lot to me," she said, not really taking the statement anywhere.

That irritated little face she made caused a flash of happiness to spread across Apocalypse's expression, his eyebrows lifting as he did his best not to giggle at her. She looked so damn young on the outside, and it sometimes seemed to be in direct conflict with what she was.
That was a strange thought. With things the way they were now, she'd stay 17 as he continued to age. Would that make him feel weird, like a dirty old pedo? That thought made him somewhat uncomfortable. He shouldn't worry about something like that now, not while she was resting happily in his arms and his lap, touching him like he was something precious, something deserving of being touched. Her words, too, struck somewhere deep in the man. Spekkio was justifying him, telling him he had every right to be angry with Rhiannon.
That meant something, coming from her. She understood the bond between weapon and summoner. She understood how hard it was to feel so utterly spiteful towards his ex-summoner, no matter what she'd done. "Thank you," he murmured quietly, absently drawing his fingers through her hair. "I'll just keep an eye on things. Don't worry; I won't let it get out of control, at least not in regards to that."
Why was it that sitting with her in his lap he could think about the possibility of Rhiannon stealing Xiven so calmly? It was almost upsetting. Almost.
"She will. I'm sure of it. It's just frustrating for the time being, you know?" His hand slipped out of her hair to run across the curve of her cheek, stroking her skin now. He wasn't really expecting the next thing that left her mouth, however, and he pulled away, his thumb resting on her chin as his eyes met hers, searching for something there. Then his lips slipped into a small smile and he closed the distance between them, closing his eyes as he kissed her.
"Spekki..." Apocalypse whispered on her lips as soon as he'd broken the kiss, smiling against her skin. "...you're silly. Saying things I already know."

"That's good," she replied, running her fingers through his hair. She loved the way it felt. Thick and slick like a Bog dwellers', but oddly springy and almost silky. It never felt oily or dirty. She liked his skin, too. Pale, smooth, clean, and very good-smelling. But she would touch that more later. She nodded slightly, knowing he'd feel the motion against his cheek.
"She will. She is sensible about logic," she sighed then let her hand drop so she could touch his back. Then she giggled and poked at his back teasingly. "We'll see how long that lasts. Sometimes you're so cute when you're pouty." She turned her head and said it quietly so the breath tickled his ear. Then she found herself being pulled into a very soft kiss, which she welcomed happily. She closed her eyes as his lips pressed against hers. Her eyes stayed closed for a second or two after they parted. She quickly regained her composure, feeling a little silly for that, and gave him a shy smile as he spoke.
"I know you know, but I just felt like saying it, so I did. Is that really so silly?"
