Xiven had left Apocalypse to tend to his injured face. It hadn't been hard to put some cold water on a cloth and daub gingerly at the bruised and swelling tissue. Had she actually hit him that hard, or was this just another side effect of his ivory-white skin? He'd found that blood and bruises showed better against his flesh than his Queen's, or even Rhiannon's. He stood at the sink, gripping the rim tightly, staring at his reflection. The face that looked back at him was still, placid. But it was angry. He knew where to look to see it - his eyes were opened a little wider than normal, his jaw held at a strong angle. There it was in the lines on his forehead - lines which, he'd found, were less inclined to actually vanish once the moment of emotion had passed. Aging, they told him. Just a side-effect of being alive. Abruptly, he turned away, flustered by his own face. Apocalypse knew Xiven had gone to see her mother, but that did nothing to help his mood. Her words gnawed at him, floating in his memory, tainting what would have been a fine day. He tossed the cloth to the ground. Spekkio. He needed to see her. There was only one way he knew to track the girl down when she didn't just bounce into his life, into his space. He had to see Heilyn. Maybe that would help his mood a bit. He couldn't be sure, but even if the Coyote couldn't... The Spider certainly could, and he knew she would. He knocked on Heilyn's door, quietly waiting for a response. If she wasn't here, he didn't know what he'd do next.

Heilyn rubbed her temples. All this fucking paperwork and all these revisions. She knew what she was getting into when she made her Quest. For the sake of getting everything back on track, she'd gladly suffer. Still, that only made it marginally more tolerable. If it weren't for Spekkio right now, she'd probably be going stir crazy. She felt herself tense quite suddenly at the knock on her door. Her eyes went wide and she bared her teeth at the door, fangs in full view. Who the fuck was bothering her now?! She threw her quill down on the table causing it to bounce and splash a droplet or two of ink on the wood as she got up to open the door. Normally, she'd call out as tell whoever it was to go away unless it was important, but she needed to stretch her legs anyway. She opened the door a little roughly barking a sharp "What?!" as she did. She blinked, expression becoming slightly less severe, when she saw Pale there. With a bruise. Again.

For whatever reason, Heilyn's snapping at him affected him less than anyone else's might have. Snapping just seemed like a very Heilyn reaction, and in a way, it felt good to be treated the same as everyone else. The slightly softened expression on her face was also nice, though. It meant maybe she was in a good enough mood to grant his request.
"Hi, Lyn." he said, leaning on the frame of her door, head tilted at a strange angle. He gave her a small grin, pointing at the shiner on his cheek. "You like?"
Really, though, he wasn't in the mood for chatter. He almost felt bad, always coming to her to ask if he could see someone else, but... It was easier with Spekkio, in some ways. She wasn't the mother of one of the roots of his issues. He'd have to arrange to have dinner with her or something, let her know he hadn't forgotten about his semi-mother in the haze of various poon-tang he was getting.
Back to the point. "Can I see Spekki?" he asked, biting his lower lip.

"Regardless of whether or not I like it, this seems to be the a reoccurring style for you lately anyway," she commented blandly. In reality, though, it wasn't as bad now as it was when he first became Human, "I will say it's fitting, though." Then he made his request. Did he feel guilty? About what? Heilyn was relieved he was hear just for Spekkio, though. She had a ton of work to do. Spekkio was happy, too. She could feel a sudden swell of happiness come from the girl when Pale had requested her presence.
"Of course you can. Right now she's outside in the garden helping me cope with having to stay inside. Would you like me to summon her here, or did you want to go down and meet her?"

He gave her his most charming of smiles, patting at the fresh bruise. "I think purple green-red is my color." he knew he needed to get his shit together, but this particular instance wasn't entirely his fault. He knew he'd done wrong by Eldy, but that had been so long ago. It seemed bizarre that Peaches would react so strongly even now, strongly enough that she'd feel the need to actually injure him.
The gardens? That made sense, he knew Heilyn much preferred being outside. It didn't sound half-bad to him, either. He grinned at the woman again, but this time, it reached his eyes.
"Nah, don't worry about calling her up. I'll just head down there. Maybe I'll give her some sex to make your workday even more tolerable." he gave her a playful wink. That was the best way to touch on a potentially awkward subject, he'd decided. After all, he wasn't having sex with Heilyn, just a part of her mind. He shook his head. No point in thinking about it too hard, not when it could potentially help to sour his mood further. He gave her a small wave as he turned to head down, a small skip in his step.
It was nice outside. It always seemed to be nice in the Highlands during summer. He stepped into the flowers, putting his hands on his hips and glancing around. He realized, belatedly, how big the gardens were. Ah, well. It wasn't exactly torture to wander around while he looked for her, and he was fairly confident that her Spider-sense would let her just creep up on him.

"Alright. See you again in a bit then," she said, laughing lightly at his comment. She watched his nearly skip off before slipping back into her room. Maybe she did need a break. Where was that damned husband of hers?
In the garden, Spekkio wiggled her feet in the small pond they were currently in, adding more ripples to the surface of the previously glass-like pond surface. Apocalypse was coming to see her! She put her fingers up to her lips and smiled. How happy it made her that he went out of his way just to ask for her! The more she interacted with him, the happier he made her. She gave him a few minutes before pulling her feet out of the water and shaking them off to get up and look for him. Her step was light, springy, and quick. She didn't know what exit he would be coming out of. She knew which exit was the closest coming from Lynny's room, but that didn't necessarily mean he would be coming out of that one. She almost made a squeak when she saw him. She did give a little hop of excitement before picking up her pace to greet him.
"Apocalypse!" she cried happily and jumped at him with arms spread.

It was useful knowing that the girl would know that he was looking for her. It at least meant she'd be on the lookout for him, maybe listening for his footsteps. He jammed his hands into his pockets and walked with a leisurely pace through the gardens, occasionally glancing around for the things he associated with the Weapon.
Of course, he didn't have to look very hard before he heard a delighted squeak. He turned to the direction of the sound, his expression getting bright as he caught sight of her. Who knew that simply hearing the use of his full name could put such a wide smile on his face? The delighted tone in her voice helped, too.
She was excited to see him. Unabashedly so.
As she sprinted for him, he took a few steps forward, wrapping his arms around her as they collided and spinning her around once or twice, laughing as he did. When he set her down, he was almost breathless, still laughing. "Damnit, Spekki," he said, then leaned in to kiss her forehead. "Heya. Sorry for interrupting your afternoon. I hope it's not too much a problem."

After she was let down she gave him a curious expression. Damn what? Had she done something wrong? She smiled again when his lips touched her forehead. As soon as he pulled him away she flicked her head up to give him a peck on the chin. It was really the best she could reach. The man had at least a foot of height on her. She shook her head.
"No, not at all. I was just wasting some time outside to help Heilyn concentrate and relax while she worked. It's pretty out here, butt he more time I spend by myself, the more likely someone I don't really care about will start talking to me," she grabbed his hand, "But you're here now! That makes my day less boring." She could spend time by herself all she wanted inside Heilyn's brain, after all. She reached up and touched the unharmed skin near his new bruise, a slight scowl creeping onto her face.
"Who gave you that? Was it that wretched little 10 again?"

For an instant, Apocalypse jutted his lower lip out. He found himself slouching as soon as he was around Spekkio, just to attempt to close some of the distance between them. His tiny little lover... "Are you saying I'm someone who you don't really care about?" he remarked, a sarcastic lilt in his voice and a playful tilt to his mouth. He just wasn't good at keeping the offended look up for very long, was he? At least not while an adorable woman was fondling him. It was amazing how much she seemed to enjoy running her fingers across him.
Not that he was complaining. It was a wonderful thing, he decided.
As soon as she grabbed his hand, he grabbed hers right back, squeezing. "I aim to please." he remarked casually, quirking a brow at her.
It would have surprised him if she hadn't noticed his bruise. He closed his eyes as she touched his face, letting out a quiet sigh. "I need to take advantage of you for a little bit just to talk. You're the only really independent party I know, Spekki." he reached up, wrapping his fingers around the hand that she currently had resting on his cheek. Then he turned his head, kissing her palm, his eyes sliding shut again. "It was Peaches."

She gave him a playful look back. Silly man and his sarcasm. She ran her thumb across the back of his hand. Then she blinked.
"Peaches?" she asked, surprised. Wow. She didn't think the woman had it in her, "How did she manage that?" Against a former Weapon who was created to fight? Must've been a sneak attack. She led him by the hand to a more secluded part of the garden. "Of course we can talk."
It spoke volumes of his trust in both Weapon and Summoner that he thought of Spekkio that way. She took him back to the pond she was at before and encouraged him to sit beside him. Her free hand ran over the grass beside her while the other stayed entwined in his hand.
"What's on your mind?"
