Xiven stared at her axe blankly. She had been sparing the entire day and hadn't seen any improvement. It wasn't her axe's fault, of course, but she could glare at it as much as she wanted without getting a snide comment. With a small sigh she set the weapon next to her on the bench. Picking up the bottle of water besides her she took a nice long drink. When she had the chance she needed to figure out a new plan for sparring. If she wasn't improving things obviously weren't good enough. She needed to be able to move without hesitation and as quickly as possible. Compensating for the weight with speed and strength would make her fighting style better balanced. And... she needed to work on that magic thing that everyone was so keen on. That she would wait on for just a bit longer. Her ears twitched as she heard footsteps behind her. Leaning back she peered through the bushes. Bright colors... who was that?

Deciding that he wanted the day off he had arrived at Ira's door that morning, Se in tow. He quickly convinced Se that he wanted to hang out with his brother. Once Se had taken to the suggestion he had promptly left. From there it had all been about him deciding what he was to do with the day off. After a fight with Juris he had settled on going for a walk. After vising all the usual places within the palace he had then headed outside. Simply walking had brought him to the practice field. If no one was there he might spend a few moments running through his daily drills, otherwise he would keep on walking. As he reached closer to the edge he spotted the bi-pedal feline. When she turned to face him, he gave a simply nod of his head in greeting, being ever courteous.

It took a long moment for the feline to realize who she was looking at. "Oh, Hello Ignatius, what are you doing out here today?" She asked out of curiosity and courteously. She was going to properly acknowledge someone that she could easily appreciate. After all he was one of the few men out there who wasn't a complete and utter jerk.
He was actually rather nice to look at too.
Putting that thought aside she wondered if he was going to use the sparring field. She never really had seen him fight, not like he had seen her either. They generally talked to each other briefly and went about their business. They didn't know each other as well as she knew Rhi, but he was around the palace often.
Sparking a conversation with him was obviously the best solution to her curiosity. Which is why she hoped he would answer the question.

He recognized the bipedal female to be Xiven. He knew of her from small greetings and passing bys in the hallways, though had never really had the time to talk to her. Taking care of Se was something of a full time job, though his being an ambassador did allow him to interact some with the other members of the Heart Court.
"Hello Your Majesty." He replied in his deep voice, bowing his head in greeting ever cordial even if he was abrupt in his manner. "If you are using the field I can come back later. I simply came to do my daily routine and relieve some tension."
In order to do his job of keeping up with Se, he had to make sure and stay in as much of a top shape as possible. Not to mention doing otherwise could easily lead to his death if such a situation arose.

"You can just call me Xiven if you want," She said cheerfully as she soaked in his image. He really was a handsome sort of man. And that scarf of his what rather fantastic. All right. She needed to focus.
"I'm finished for now. I'm in a bit of a rut with my practicing, so feel free to use the field all you like. I'm just going to rest on the sidelines." She said with a cordial smile.
Dirt tired and sore. She shouldn't have practiced for as long as she did. She could stand to watch someone else practice while she recovered on the sidelines. Something different in her routine was exactly what she was looking for. Perhaps today really was a good day?
She set her axe on the ground completely so it wouldn't fall when she shifted. Grabbing her bottle of water she took a long drinking, briefly ignoring Ignatius for a moment. Her attention returned she she sent the water back down. Would he actually do his routine with someone watching?

Without reallying thinking about it one of his ears went back at her mentioning that she was in a bit of a rut. Trying to decide if he really cared enough to ask about it or not, he paused for a moment.
Seeing that she was planning on staying he gave a small sigh, though it was not anything she would be able to pick up. He had wanted to try a few moves and techniques out with Juris today, but that was something he did not want to do with someone around. Juris was a card better left unseen by any for now.
Glancing toward where she was now resting he started to go through his stretches. After he finished with one leg and had moved on to the other he tilted his muzzle so he was all but looking at her.
"Do you mind if I ask what is wrong?" He asked loud enough to be heard but keeping it at a conversational tone.

Xiven really wasn't watching. She had set her chin on her had and was plotting on ways to fix her little problem. The young woman hadn't gathered that the mouse bull had wanted to be alone from the sigh, she was more self absorbed that she was willing to admit.
Her ears perked when he spoke.
Was he actually curious or just doing it out of politeness?
"I'm slower than I normally am. For three days now I haven't been able to do what a normally can and my reflexes are off. I'm not sick. I'm just slow, and I have no idea how to remedy it." She shrugged. "Some people say I should just be happy I can swing something so large as fast as I can, but that's not enough when it comes to fighting."
And she was generally bad with magic. If she tried to learn something knew it would probably blow up in her face. "I suppose I'm just being silly."
