Theofilus raised an eyebrow. Snarky. "Then I won't ask for a miracle," he grinned at the man, "The only reason my sweetheart hasn't gotten a bander herself is because of the rumors that surround your fine establishment."
With that snarky comment out of the way he could continue with business. "But of course I didn't come here for a chat." He looked to the pens that lined the walls. There were only two that really caught his eye. "Could you tell me about Cutie, and Munchkin?" Show names never really seemed to fit as well as they should. It was like someone decided to give them the silliest name possible in order to make them cute. Cute with sharp pointy teeth, what a combination.
"And perhaps I could get a red collar with a silver bell when I've found the proper bander?" The sparrow asked with a smiled.

A bit of attitude in his response, but then it was gone. Ashwin couldn't really deny the man's claim and probably wouldn't have even if he could. Why deny enjoying the company of women? At least the rumors were somewhat flattering, especially at his age. He'd never suffered from a shortage of distractions.
"So you're going for the pretty and pink boys rather than sweet-tempered? You should have just said that right off. Munchkin has a habit of biting feet and Cutie's got a bit of a dominance problem, not so bad if you're a one-bander household but hell if you've got another dominant at home. Both of the boys' issues can be worked out with the proper training, of course, but that might be more time and money that you're willing to spend on a gift. I'd recommend Cutie if you want someone to attach to her, but again... watch out for any bander company that comes over. I'd love to get either of them gone to a home, though."
He picked at a bit of dirt under one nail. "If you're going to be choosing, the price for any of my stock banders is ten tokens, plus an additional three for the accessories you've mentioned."

Feet biting or a bander that would probably try to whip Xanthe into shape if they ever met. Feet seemed far less difficult to deal with in training. Spending a little extra money on it wasn't a problem, and it would definitely give Calia a break from her work. She'd be able to at least use the bander training to get away from work for a little while. Hopefully.
"I think I'll have to go with Munchkin." Theofilus said as he produced the proper amount of money for the bander and accessories. "It's a fair price." It's not like the sparrow could argue over it. He had no real experience on pricing banders or anything like banders. Being completely out of his element he simply had to agree with the price. Plus he wanted to get out of this place and back to the firm as soon as possible, otherwise Kelasia would be suspicious. He didn't really need that on his plate.

"Ankle-biter it is," Ashwin agreed gamely, tucking his stock book away and moving to go up the back staircase, then to his main room upstairs and into the larger cage. He avoided several playful nips and one swipe with feeling, reaching for the pink male who was determinedly grooming himself. A startled cough was all his pick-up merited and he went to hunt up a spare bell on his way downstairs. He set the bander on the counter and moved quickly to one of his storage cabinets, digging for and finding a red collar before returning just in time to stop the male from jumping onto the floor. "Oi, stoppit," he muttered, attaching the bell with a quick set of pliars and a deft, practiced twitch. Then it was around the bander's neck, much to his surprise, and he nudged the pretty creature towards the sparrow at the same time he slipped the money off the counter and into his lock-box. "There you are, sir, one bander for your lady-friend. May her no-doubt lovely ankles remain intact." InfoName: Munchkin (temp) ID: BS023 Color: Pink Dapple Pointed Male Genetics: XY Rryybbcc ddppTtll

Theofilus accepted the makeshift leash. Maybe he should buy one later? He shrugged it off. "Thank--" Theofilus began before he was suddenly nipped on his ankle. "GAH!" he exclaimed as the bander looked up at him with innocent eyes.
This was going to be a lovely walk home wasn't it? The sparrow sighed as he walked out of the store without finishing his Thank you. The ankle bite was probably satisfaction enough. Still, Theofilus was quite satisfied. This would make a lovely gift for Calia. He did have a wonderful coat and markings even if he had a love for ankles.
"Stop that," Theofilus muttered as he pulled softly on the rope that was provided to prevent the bander from nipping at people as they walked. Was Munchkin really an appropriate name for the little ankle biter? He'd obviously let Calia decide on that one. He couldn't help but smirk at the thought of a little bander named Munchkin running around any house hold. Cute with sharp point teeth.

It wasn't long at all after Theofilus's departure that a second Lakeland sparrow entered the building, glancing around with a small spark of interest in her eye. She walked with no small amount of confidence up to the counter, looking over each Bander in turn. As she investigated each one, she absently rubbed the small silver band that she was wearing. This was so difficult. No males would do, she knew. That just wouldn't go over well. She had something rather specific in mind, but for now it looked like there were no banders that met her specifications- But wait! What about the light yellow creature? Clearing her throat slightly, Ceren waved the shopkeep down. " Excuse me, sir?[/b]" she called out, trying her best to put on a smile. It felt odd on her beak, and somewhat out of place, but she needed to be polite. " Can you tell me about this Bander? Muffin?[/b]" Was it a girl? She hoped so, their names were so androgynous and she had no idea how to tell their gender just by looking. Her mother had always taught her to never pay a visit to someone empty handed, though, so this was well worth the trouble.

Ashwin looked up from his books as the door opened again and raised his eyebrows appreciatively. What a shapely bird she was! He had a thing for ladies with feathers. Her rank was quite reasonable as well, the same as his but in a different suit. That meant she would either be snooty at him or pleasantly receptive. There wasn't usually a middle ground with Ten femmes.
"Muffin? Well, she's a Sand blanket appaloosa. Calm temperament for one of her species, probably the most mellow of the bunch I have at the moment. If you're looking for a pretty little pet, she'd be a good choice. If you want a fighter or racer, however, I'd recommend casting your eye elsewhere."
He smirked and twirled his mustache out of habit. Pretty banding on those wings. She just screamed Lakelander, especially with that hair. Odd to have two Lakeland birds in one day, both of them looking like sparrows. Ah well.

Ceren had heard the stories about this one. Some of the stories had come from her own dear brother, and it pained her to even set foot into his store. If it got the job done, however, it was worth it. She just hoped she could get out as soon as possible.
His eyes... It felt to her like they were positively boring into her body, and she lifted her head to give the man a single glare from behind the blue locks of hair that were falling into her face. The glare would likely answer each and every one of his wonders as to what kind of ten the sparrow would be, and then some. The way she kept rubbing at her ring disturbed the rays of hatred that were radiating off of her like some kind of poison, but only slightly. Remembering herself, Ceren wiped the look from her face and gave the mustelid a small yet still dangerous smile.
He needed to remember his place around her. Males.
"Oh, really?[/b]" she commented softly, more to herself and the Bander than to Ashwin. Reaching out a talon tenatively, she scratched the creature behind the ear, her "I'm-going-to-kill-you-if-you-so-much-as-look-at-me" face begining to melt into one of actual pleasure as the little creature moved into the touch. "And a female... She's perfect.[/b]" the bird stood, taking a few steps to the counter and pulling out her money bag. Counting through the coins, she hesitated for a moment, glancing at the many collars that hung against the walls.
"How much would she run me if I got her a purple collar as well?[/b]" it was an afterthought, but she couldn't help but smile at the idea of how nicely the purple collar would go with that tan coat.

Well. Haughty bitch, then. Fine, Ashwin could play that game. She kept her words polite, which was more than some managed when they shared that mindset. He tilted his head politely, quitting with the looks when she expressed an obvious interest in the pretty little sane femme. At least she actually liked the creatures. That reassured him somewhat. He always hated selling his banders to people who were obviously terrified or disdainful just so they could give them as presents to bratty children or indifferent lovers.
"I normally charge ten for one of my stock banders. With a collar, that would run you an additional two, so twelve total. I'm assuming you want leather." He moved over to his large cabinet and dug around, ignoring the other bright colors until he finally spied a strip of purple. It wasn't exactly the most commonly requested color and he didn't keep very many in stock.
With a practiced motion, he slipped it around the bander's neck. She looked confused but didn't protest.

The day had certainly been busy for Ashwin, but it was about to get a whole lot busier. With no hesitation, the door practically flung open, as his next customer came strolling in with a confidence only found in women who knew they were exactly what men wanted, or at the very least had convinced themselves that they were. The latter would probably be more accurate in this case. Roxanne could have been walking down a runway, her strides long and beautiful and confident, each step placed with absolute certainty, hips dancing from side to side showing off her thin and veluptuous frame, her feet one in front of the other as if walking on an invisible tight rope. A beautiful smile was plastered on her face, a knowing one, one that said "I'm about to get what I want" very plainly, her hair casscading down her body in fine movement with her body. But not to cocky Roxanne, she tried to remind herself, but it was just...oh so hard. She knew that this particular meeting with Ashwin was important, probably the entire reason for her showing up not in human form. It was the form she mostly took, not really caring in the slightest that she was a lowly 2, but for a deal? She knew it would be best to tone down the theatrical entrance. They would all know her from the way she handled herself, she didn't need to jeopardize the mission with a human form. This was for guard banders to up security. It was very important to her to get them. Behind her, a rather large canine came in, his strides far more noble, and he scanned the area once over before quickly finding himself at his mistress' right side, keeping an eye out for others in the store. It was his job after all to make sure that Roxanne was safe at all times, a job that he took much more seriously then Trinculo...her other guard. Speaking of which, he also then entered, his movements snake-like but not without a smirk. He winked at the Selkie Lake Sparrow lady who was in line before them, before settling at Roxanne's left. Roxanne lent herself against the counter, a little ways away from the other customers in the store, allowing Ashwin to deal with them before turning to her. Her back against the counter, her arms crossed at her chest making her rather large breasts all but pop out of the corset she was wearing. It was very obvious who and what she was, and she did little to try and hide the fact. She knew it would help her in this case...at least....so she heard...
