Ceren nodded to herself, her sudden desire to have the little creature completely pushing her feelings of distaste for the man aside, at least for the time being. She opened the bag at her side, rummaging through it until she felt her hand come around a small leather bag, which she pulled out with a triumphant smile to herself. "Sounds reasonable to me,[/b]" the Lakeland sparrow muttered to herself as she counted out the tokens, sliding them across the counter to the man.
"Yes, leather will do nicely,[/b]" she returned with a smile and a nod. It seemed that the sparrow was beginning to drop her bitchy attitude as time went on and the excitement over the Bander grew. She glanced over as the door opened, catching sight of the feline and her bodyguards. She quirked an eyebrow, realizing instantly what was going on, and hurriedly scooped the only slightly squirming bander into her arms, sensing that it was now time for her to leave. "Thank you.[/b]"

After the eventful day with two sparrows and a whole slew of other people. Zane walked into an empty shop. He hesitated briefly but he had a mission. He really didn't feel like failing either. "Excuse me, Sir," Zane said as he walked up to the counter, "I need two bandersnatches. One needs to be protective but friendly to its owner. The other one needs to be pretty docile and er... if it could lead a blind person that would be great, but docile works. I need proper collars and leashes."That was simple. He just had to wait for the man to respond, and hopefully he wouldn't get a dirty look. The sparrow was quite sure about getting these gifts for Eilwyn and Asha. After the little incident was Asha "escaping" the household and his parents nearly having a heart attack each, he figured banders would be a good idea, just in case it ever happened again. That and Eilwyn needed an excuse to meet people other than family. Maybe a bander was just the push he needed.

Ashwin smoothly slid the coins from the counter and put them in a small box he used as a till, smiling and nodding his head to the sparrow. "Welcome, of course. If you ever need anything, you just have to let me know and I can probably handle it, whatever the request. Take care of the little thing and make sure not to fight her. Others would wipe the floor with her, I think." InfoName: Muffin (temp) ID: BS024 Color: Sand Blanket Female Genetics: XX RRYyBBcc DdPPTTLl Once the sparrow was dealt with, the pine martin allowed himself to pay more attention to the next group of people to enter his shop, a trio if the glance he'd caught out of the corner of his eye had been correct. Highlanders, too... they were always interesting, either entertaining or annoying in their haughty regard of others. It was just the Highland way, but it was damned irritating if you weren't from the region, which he most certainly wasn't. Arrogant bastards. This one, however, was a more than pleasant surprise. What a damn fine woman. And just look at those... well, well. Were the males in with her lovers? Protectors? Relatives, as unlikely as it seemed? She was a two, though, and flaunting her goods. From the way she was dressed, yes, probably her goods. Which would make these men her pimps? What would they all be doing here, then? ...a two... of Hearts... feline Highlander, with a red mane and more cleavage than she knew what to do with - despite the fact that she very much seemed to know what to do with it... He may have heard of this woman before, not that he sought out whores very often. He preferred making his own catches for the night. Once or twice, though, he'd been privy to the little 'community' some pimps had set up. Heard some of them talking about a new gang in the city. Could this possibly be the woman they were talking about? Wouldn't that be an interesting turn of events. Whoever she was, she most certainly had his complete and undivided attention. "Well, hello there, miss. Please forgive me for leaving you waiting. Ashwin, at your service. What could I possibly interest you in today?" He refrained from openly drooling, but his gaze was a touch more intent than 'admiring'. He wasn't one to waste the opportunity to eye a particularly fine woman. The men were completely ignored. If they wanted to speak to him, she would have to indicate as such. Otherwise, he just wasn't interested in anything that might come out of their mouths.
After the encounters earlier in the day, Ashwin was expecting just about anything to walk through his door an hour before he closed. The odd-looking bird with leathery wings still managed to make him give a second look, however. What was it with sparrows? This one looked to be a Kahmden mix, though he wasn't quite sure what with. Something with white, which could be any number of things. Not that he particularly cared. He was very obviously a man – a boy, really, since he looked pretty young – and very much all-business about the whole thing. Fine. He could play that game. "Never heard of a bander leading the blind before. You smoking something? Eh, regardless, Velveteen is probably the only one I would trust to be anything even remotely 'docile'. Of the others... protective pretty much describes the lot of them, but friendly might be a bit trickier. Fern's a pleasant enough thing and she might bond well. I can't really predict that so well, though, boy. Without a proper owner, that kind of thing is usually up to the bander."

"If I were smoking something I would probably be happier," Zane said as he tapped his nails on the counter. This man was very unpleasant. He might as well get everything over with. The two banders sounded proper enough. Zane eyed the man for a minute before speaking again.
"I'll take both of them. Proper training isn't an issue," The sparrow said. "However, I will pay extra for the proper leashes and collars. Leather and all of that." He almost felt like an idiot, but he wanted to get a proper gift for Eilwyn and Asha. He knew full well that neither of them could see the colors, but at least they could still feel bander fur and all of that.
Hopefully the gifts would be good enough. He just wanted the pair of them to be happy and to stay out of trouble. He tapped his fingers lightly on the counter as he waited for the man to respond.

"Eh, yes, I don't suppose you look like the sunniest crayon in the box. Both of them, including collars and leashes... let's see, that's ten each, so twenty, and then four each for the equipment. Twenty-eight in all. I'll go and get them ready, you count out the change." Effectively ignoring the man for a moment, he went upstairs to fetch the two banders mentioned, the green dappling on the one a vibrant contrast to the brown spots of the other. They were a pretty pair, very earthy together. Since the sparrow hadn't mentioned any preference in color, he grabbed up two of his standard brown leather collars and leashes, settling them in place and hooking on the leads. Velveteen seemed to take it in a more calmly surprised manner than Fern, who tried to gnaw at the leash until he corrected her. Carrying both creatures down and keeping them slightly separated, he placed them on the counter. Zane was surprised to be compared to a crayon to see the least. This man wasn't particularly pleasant. Oh well, not like everyone was a giant ball of sunshine when they sold their things.
He set the proper amount on the table and took the banders. He figured the brown one was Velveteen and the cute little green one was Fern. He set the banders on the floor carefully and grabbed their colors. Fern didn't entirely appreciate being handled in such away and bit one of Zane's toes and he started to walk out of the store.
The bird twitched. "Thank you, sir," he said back to Ashwin. Fern would probably get along with Eilwyn, or something. He just couldn't see Asha with something that was prone to biting. Anyway, Eilwyn was slightly paranoid and having a little bander to bond with might be good for him.
That's what the sparrow hoped at least as he walked out of the shop with two banders trying to lead him in opposite directions.

Loreta never thought she would be purchasing a bander. She never thought she would be purchasing a bander for someone else. The heron reluctantly hopped in the shop. At least there was no one here except the shopkeeper. She didn't trip, thankfully, as she came up to the counter. She might as well get her business out of the way and leave. "Er... Is there any chance that I can get a Burn Your Eyes Yellow Pointed Bander? A male would be nice." Loreta choked back a sigh. She wasn't usually this hesitate. Live animals though, they always got her. She was never good with them as a kid, and she still wasn't. She was a one legged heron after all. Not many animals understood that someone with one leg can't run. That always ended up special. She face planted enough. At least she was getting this as a gift and didn't have to take care of it.

It was Seki who had made her do it really; meeting his little bander, Mocha has stirred the pot and made Dilis want her own cute little friend. She was so terribly lonely most days... a bander friend might make the days go by quicker. Also, she would have a protector when the other Avingtons made fun of her rank. She walked into the shop to see it was bustling. So many people in here today... He was dealing with Lore but the transaction was about to be ended so she walked timidly up to the counter and called for his attention. Expecting of course, for him not to jump up right away. " Excuse me sir, I wondered if I might procure a blue bander... a female would do nicely. Also if it isn't any trouble, might they be of a nice temperament? If not, just give me any nice-tempered bander you have." Dilis rambled on, she got so terribly nervous around other people. However, with her plans she would have to get over it.

Ashwin tilted his head at this odd customer, looking her up and down in curiosity rather tan anything more lecherous. A one-legged heron, how strange. He'd seen stranger, mind, but not in a little while at the least. She must get more use out of her wings that most birds, he supposed, especially with how she was hopping up to him.
And then she made her request, and he couldn't help but snort. That was funny. "A 'burn your eyes' yellow? That describes most yellow banders pretty well, you know. Still, I can probably find you a yellow pointed male if you give me a few days to contact some of my local suppliers. It's not a terribly uncommon combination, so I don't see it as taking more than six or seven days at most. Come back then and I should have a boy in to your liking. It'll probably cost you about fifteen, what with the special order." Well, at least she had been specific.
He noticed the pretty thing that had entered his shop and looked down at her, eyebrows raising. Oh my, how adorable. Avingtons could sometimes be tetchy, but they weren't nearly as bad as most Highlanders. This was certainly a charming example of the region. He'd never been much of one for antlers, but at least they looked like they suited this feline.
"Ah, and you, Miss, you need no excuse to catch my attention." He smiled, which may or may not have been interpreted as a smirk. "I'm afraid I don't have any blues in my stock at the moment, but as I just told this heron, I could certainly troll through my suppliers and see what they have available if you don't mind waiting. Do you want any specific pattern to go along with it? Does it not matter? It makes the difference between ten and fifteen in price, you see."

She hadn't expected it when he started to speak to her; she jumped a bit in surprise. He was smiling at her, perhaps in flirtation? Dilis blushed and smiled back.
"Why thank you sir. I don't mind waiting for what I want. However, I don't really know very much about banders either; perhaps you could help? Before my friend had shown me his bander, I hadn't even really thought about getting one."
"I'm not really sure about patterns, I had really only wanted a solid blue bander. I'm more concerned about it being blue and having a nice temperament, a personality such as myself couldn't handle a big bad bander. If perchance I get a bad bander, might you be inclined to help me train it... after hours? It would be such a great help to me." She smiled sweetly at him and offered her hand to him.
