It wasn't half as hard as she thought it would be, sneaking away from her overly attentive father. It seemed that his mind was preoccupied with the fact that he was never going to attain what he had tried so hard to get...the love of her other father. The little kitten just didn't understand, or care to understand for that matter. Now that she had managed to shake her father, it was time to look for a bit of fun. It wasn't everyday that dear old dad brought her to the capital. Granted, this had turned from a weekend away to six month, but she wasn't going to complain. At least she hadn't been forced to learn about politics and everything else daddy wanted to fill her head with. He had told her all about his aspirations on becoming a Queen, but now, it seemed that he just wanted to push those dreams onto her. She was a meager five, it would take forever for her to rank to a Queen, at least in her young mind, it seemed like forever. After slipping from the boarding house they had been occupying for the last two months...the money to pay for the grand hotel they had stayed in before had run out...Shay'la took a nice, long stretch, shaking her body to fluff her sunset hued fur to a nice uneven fluff. The kitten took a deep breath of the city air, imagining for just a moment that she had no obligations nor responsibilities to her father, pretending, for just a little bit that she was free to do as her heart desired. With a light smile on her face, she headed into the capital, wondering what kinds of things she would see on her little adventure.

Ha ha! Finally, she had ditched that silly chaperone! A toothy grin was spread across the seven-year-old's face, and she gave a little squeak of glee. She had known this moment would come even since that morning, when her guardian, Khushrenada (or Mr. Birdy-man, as she still sometimes called him privately) had proclaimed himself too busy to go to the Capital with her and had instead sent along a substitute. Mr. Birdy-man was hard to fool (eyes like a hawk!...wasn't that what he was, anyway? Well, whatever, he had the eyes of one) but the poor maid who'd been elected to babysit the energetic little bat had been lost in the crowd. Mirriam flapped idly, flying down the street, gazing in amazement around her. No matter how many times she'd been to the Capital, it always fascinated her just how many different colorful Cards one could find here. Something caught her eyes, though...it was another kid! And she seemed to have very pretty fur and also to be without an escort. So Mirriam decided what better to do in her first time unsupervised than to make a friend? She zipped over to hover right in front of the Feline. " Hi~" she cried happily, probably unintentionally activating her Diamond charm, " I'm Mirriam who are you isn't the Capital a wonderful place do you live here I don't I live in this big palace--the Court of Diamons, you know--and it's pretty cool but there's a lot more people and colors and stuff to do here don't you think?" Eager brown eyes sparkled at the other child.

(( He wouldn't let me pass this up, lol )) Ah, the capitol ... his favorite haunt. There were just so many people of various shapes, sizes and forms he couldn't resist cruising the streets. Well, carefully cruising them now that he'd become overly conscious of the fact that his wings were flame... and not only did singed fur and hair have a rather unattractive scent, people tended not to enjoy being burned. He all but pranced down the street, flame hued tail arched up and swaying gently behind him as red-orange eyes scanned the crowd. He had his head tilted ever so slightly to she side and his tongue lolled out as well... the picture of canine approachability.... but he was bored, so very, very bored. Suddenly all movements ceased and he came to a halt with one front leg up and his ears perked, other kids! And they weren't being bustled off somewhere by a fussy parental unit or anything similar, perhaps his boring day could turn ... it'd been awhile since he'd stumbled across children that weren't one of his siblings. A happy little yip escaped his maw as he raced toward the pair, a surprised gasp or two escaping from the adult cards who stumbled a bit in the effort to avoid running into the flaming canine. He came to a sliding halt near them and very nearly went into a roll in the process, but it didn't seem to phase him in the least. His tail cheerfully assaulted the ground as he peered at first the feline and then the bat, a broad smile fixed upon his muzzle. Hi!

Shay'la stopped dead in her tracks when the little bat hovered in front of her. She stood slack jawed for a moment before shaking her head to regain her momentarily shattered composure. The kitten tried to keep up with the mile a minute chatter, nodding her head a few times before she managed to get a chance to put a few words in. Nice to meet you Mirriam, I'm Shay'la and yes the Capital is nice. She couldn't help but instantly like the bat. I don't live here, my Daddy One and I live in Corvistowne for the time being. She chuckled a bit, sitting down on her rump to wrap her fluffy tail around her feet.
It wasn't long before she found another young one arriving on the scene. She had heard a commotion coming down the road, but didn't realize that such a commotion was being caused by the newcomer, it didn't take long to put two and two together and stack the shouts from the adults to the happy yipping pup. His sliding entrance made her chuckle even more, lifting a paw to cover her mouth almost like she would be blushing behind the paw. Hello, I'm Shay'la and this is Mirriam.

Mirriam grinned toothily at the girl as she responded. She was feeling even more hyper than usual, and that was saying something. She flapped her wings at a quick rate, hovering in place over the other child. "Shay'la? Well it's great to meet you! I've never been to Corvistowne but it sounds exciting, all those crazy mad scientists plotting to take over the world." She puffed her little chest out proudly. "Well I won't let them! Oh do you have more than one Daddy? Well I mean, I have a friend at home at the Court who has two Mommies so I guess it makes sense. You've been here a bunch of times then huh?" She seemed to be quite the little chatterbox, switching subjects wildly and with an ease that left most people quite confused.
But at the sounds of a commotion and a new voice, her ears perked excitedly and she turned to see a new child, a puppy from the looks of it, and oh didn't he have a very pretty coat! Something odd flashed through her eyes at the brown and swirls, but it wasn't fear or disgust or any emotion normally associated with Lowlanders. "Hi!" she chirped excitedly. "I like your colors. Oooh ooooh!" Her eyes widened and she darted over, sniffing excitedly at his wings. "Are your wings made of fire? That is so super cool! Well more like 'hot' since it's fire and it can burn stuff. I got burned once on my foot and it hurt a lot, see?" She held up her little clawed foot, though what she was trying to get them to see was anyone's guess, since there didn't appear to be anything out of place about it. Possibly a small scar, but it was long since covered by fur.

His fluffy tail was moving about a mile a minute after the greetings and instantly he decided he'd stay and chat and plopped his bum on the ground. This of course didn't hinder the movements of his tail, which was now beating against the ground excitedly. He was the energetic sort, and the enthusiastic nature of both girls only fed his excitement. He had a feeling this would be fun!
He sat up straight, puffed up his chest and placed a paw near the 10 of Clubs which rested on his chest .... just ot give the best sort of self introduction of course.
I'm Casanova ... it's nice to meet you both.
The mixed-realm pup couldn't stay serious for long and a broad grin cracked his muzzle as he placed his paw back on the ground. And oh... oh! His wings were being admired!
They sure are, watch!
And with that he flapped his little wings and sent little licks of flame flickering off to fade away.
It looks cool at night... you can see it better.

The tip of the kittens tail would twitch, much like any other content kitty's would. She couldn't help but giggle at the enthusiasm of the little bat. Oh, there are plenty of crazy scientists running around, but I think most of them are far too busy to try to take over the world, too wrapped up in whatever it is that they do...and some of them smell so BAD!!! Daddy says it's all the stuff they work with that make them smell so. She blinked a few times, trying to make sure that she kept up with the mile a minute chatter. And yes, two daddies, though I don't think I have ever met my other daddy, Daddy One is keeping it a secret for some reason or another. The kitten shrugged, turning her attention to the pup. A pleased smile crossed her lips, eyes drawn to his wings..they were very pretty after all, and, like her daddy, she liked pretty things. It's nice to meet you Casanova. Shay'la's eyes were continuiosly drawn to his wings, maybe she was a closet fire bug, or maybe it was just the pretty, but she couldn't stop watching them for long.

"Oooh," the little bat was obviously hanging on the kitten's every word at the moment. "Bad how? What do they smell like?" Mirriam had to know! She'd never met someone from that region up close enough to smell them, after all. Her little leaf-nose wiggled curiously.
"...that's sad," she said upon learning that Shay'la had never met one of her parents. And for a moment her expression did darken, but of course she was far too excitable to stay down form long, and the distraction of shiny fire was apparently too strong.
Her eyes widened even more as the wings flared up, sending sparks as they flapped. "That's amazing, Casanova!" she squeaked, eyes shining. "Casanova," she repeated in a sing-songy voice. She liked the sound of his name. "Casanova~" She giggled and did a little loop in the air. This was so fun! Her first time on her own without anyone watching her, and she had already made two new friends! "So so do you two know any real cool places to go in the city?" the bat asked excitedly, knowing the three of them could surely find some cool new adventure somewhere in this big city!
