Nelo wasn't sure what to do with herself. It had been months since she'd left the Court of Clubs simply out of sheer boredom - how many days could you handle menial things like building brick walls? - and while Sorgaire and the Lakes were wonderful places to be, they couldn't capture her attention for very long. She was considering going to Hisstor, simply because she'd never been there for very long, and the tribes fascinated her, not to mention she wanted to see if she could get accepted into one. That, however, was a while off. Hisstor was a place she had to prepare herself mentally for, especially if she was going to stay for a long period of time. In the meanwhile, Midori Beach could occupy her for at least a few weeks - sand and surf and all that, and perhaps some interesting magical crazy ladies. The area seemed to have a ton of them.. So Nelo weaved her way through the countryside until she found a wonderful village that had just enough people to keep her interested, but not so many to the point where she got lost in the crowd. She parked herself next to someone's garden, and began the process of relaxing and people watching.

Escape. Must. Escape. "Mom, no, I don't need any more biscuits! No, this is plenty, thank you!" An insistent voice grew louder until finally the door to the nearby house flung open, an interesting bipedal figure walking backwards down the steps, one arm holding a large basket of biscuits and a container of soup, while the other one was raised up as if to ward off some vile demon. An even more insistent creature pursued, an aged quadrupedal squirrel scampering after with biscuits in hand. "Ye sure, dearness? I made plenty... I don' want ye goin' hungry.. Oh what would te neighbors be saying if I let ye starve!""Most de neighbors be -related- to us! Even then, everyone in dis town knows how you are and I'm sure none of dem doubt your ability to feed anyone who comes within a ten meter radius of you.."Then that was when she saw her; a little mix and mash of region and breed with obvious Selkie overtones to her appearance... a creature probably in her teens. Young, old, Highland or Lowland, Zuberi didn't care! She called out to the girl, who was so relaxed as she sat back on the large piece of driftwood that bordered her mother's garden. "Ah, you look lost, friend! Need a little help finding your way? Of course you do! How about I show you around?" Of course, with her back facing her mother, even with eyes either sightless or a dark pool, her expression was obviously pleading for the girl to play along. Oh yes, it was most certainly an expression that screamed out 'save me!'

Nelo was enjoying the bright blue sky and was only half-paying attention to the world around her, but the sudden voices and the appearance of a bright green-and-pink squirrel quickly gained her attention. (Not that everyone else wasn't green and pink, but something about this one was a bit more captivating..) The hybrid sat up and listened, but couldn't help but giggle. Biscuits! Ahh, motherly love. She missed her own.. but her own mommy tended to live in boring places.
The mix simply grinned up at Zuberi when she was rapidly brought into the conversation. "Of course!" She exclaimed, shoving up to her feet, "I'm totally and completely lost, and am in desperate need of your help." She stated innocently, picking up her backpack in the process. Tour guides were one thing she'd never refuse.

The expression of desperation lifted as a grin stretched across her face, her toothy, fanged grin just a bit too goofy for anyone to really find menacing. Despite appearances, she hardly carried herself like a person normally would who looked like her.
Sorry ma, duty be callin'! I'm sure one o' ya bruthas wouldn't mind some biscuits anyways!" Waving and smiling eagerly, she left her mother in the doorstep as she matched strides with the little badger mix.
"Migad! You saved me back dere, friend. Priestess of the village and she still treats me like I'm a kit." She hazarded a glance behind her back to make sure her mother went back into the house.
"Anyway, I be Zuberi... and welcome to Midori! Is it ya first time here?" With a broad grin and her package swinging slightly at her side, she seemed genuinely ready to carry out her role as tour guide.

Nelo raised an inner eyebrow at the fangs, but decided that a fanged squirrel was really not that strange, once you added up the rest of the weird things she'd seen. As long as she didn't get bitten..
Happy to have something to do regardless, she followed Zuberi's lead and waved back cheerfully at the mother, glad that she wasn't going to be forced into intensely boring conversation.. though biscuits did sound nice. Perhaps someone else would have some.
"Don't mention it!" She said cheerfully, understanding the smothering love that mothers had completely. Her own tended to get a bit.. obnoxious.. when she came home after a few months away. "My mum tries to shove sandwiches down me, not biscuits, but it happens." Nelo grinned.
"I'm Nelo. I've been to Midori before, but not this particular village."

"Oh, well that's not uncommon. We definitely don't get the main traffic out in these parts." Zuberi said conversationally.
"She been suffocating for sure... but then again she been clingy lately since... well, you dun wanna hear about the island drama." Dodging a crowd of children, she smiled fondly behind her back at them before continuing. "So, what did you have in mind on this particular visit, or do ye not have a particular agenda? You look the sort that might be passing through on the fly. Would I be right?"
Did it seem like Zuberi could easily peg them? Well, even if they didn't have the traffic of the bigger cities, the squirrel had been dealing with tourists all of her life and felt that maybe she had a knack for judging them. There were always ones that surprised her; it seemed they got a lot of interesting folk who decided to go out of their way to visit such a rustic town.
