"Wow, it's so beautiful out here!" Levi exclaimed as cheerfully as he could, his flame tail flickering as it twitched once towards his flanks to singe the fly that had unwisely chosen to land on him. It did not survive the encounter, though the teenager was oblivious to its plight. "Isn't it great, Sid?" Green eyes went nervously back to his older brother, hoping that this particular expedition would do as nothing yet had been able to. His normally cheerful, smiling face was downcast, ears drooping, wings the same. He stopped to stare blankly around for a long moment, his metal hand-- attached to a metal arm that had replaced his left foreleg entirely-- twitched its fingers through the soil of the Josiggy Marsh. They hadn't been here long, but were slowly making their way to Uncle Elias and Daddy's cabins. Sid gave a low sigh. He didn't want to be here. Not now.

“…I’m just going to get some fresh air, okay?” Clementine said, her voice dripping with forced cheer, before slipping out the door into the humid air. Her large ears picked up the sound of her friends’ fits of laughter, probably brought on because of her quick, inelegant departure. She didn’t blame them, she knew in her acceptance of Lowlanders she was something of an irregularity, and she used to wish she could feel that intense loathing, if just to fit in. Now that bat was constantly giving thanks that the wish hadn’t come true, even though it made her somewhat of an outsider. She just wasn't able to speak so badly about a whole region, like they were doing now. The Diamond clucked and shook her head. What was she still doing here, in this beautiful Realm that was poisoning itself with hate? While she was content living here she was never truly happy, and even her own family seemed to regard her as a little abnormal. Maybe it was time for a change in scenery, but where to go? The Court seemed a dangerous place, especially for one as open and trusting as she. No, the Court of Diamonds was not for her… Clementine wandered down the road, the heavy breeze playing lazily with her ivy-green mane. She hadn’t gone very far before she heard two voices some way down the lane. Anxiety took hold of her – she was nervous by nature, and as a result very chatty – but she was also stricken with curiosity. The voices sounded unfamiliar; maybe they weren’t from the Marsh? She continued down the path at a faster pace, her expression all that was amiable and lively. ooc: Thank you so much for doing this with me, I really appreciate it. ^^

(( No worries; i enjoy RPing. Hehe (^_^)v ))
Levi gave a small, annoyed sigh at the lack of response-- yet again!-- from his eldest full sibling. He tossed his head, inadvertently sending bits of melted glass flying. He'd generally tried to stop the very equine habit, especially since the time he'd caused that one servant to lose the use of her right eye.
The sound of footsteps caught his attention, however and he turned to prick his ears towards it and continue to lead Sid onwards until he caught sight of. . . a bat. He tilted his head at the woman. She didn't look crazy, she looked. . . nice. He glanced at her chest and felt a small surge of disappointment. Aw, she was only a Diamond.
Sid followed after his youngest brother and couldn't even muster the energy to sigh in despondency. The world had all been turned on its head. He hated it.

When the bat rounded the bend she nearly ran into two very peculiar looking young Cards, the originators of the vibrations she had picked up on after leaving his friend’s house. They were so unusual looking! Clementine meant that in a nice way, of course, but wow! And her friends called her exotic because she was a bat! They were both an extraordinary blend of breeds…she wouldn’t even try to guess what the flaming one was.
Oh God, she was probably staring, wasn’t she? That was so rude of her! Her cheeks blushed pink under green fur, and thought occurred to her that she now most likely looked like a watermelon. The bat had to work hard to contain her nervous laughter, but managed to merely smiley warmly.
“I’m sorry...I didn’t see you there!” She exclaimed belatedly, completely captivated by these two outsiders. But despite their unique appearances they were both children, what were they doing traveling by themselves? The mother in her wanted to protect them against some of the more intemperate Marsh dwellers, though common sense argued against smothering them with affection right then and there.

Levi's ears flipped backwards at her rather surprising exclamation; she hadn't seen them standing here? But. . . she was staring at them? Still, Levi knew better than to be rude back, even when someone blatantly lied. Uncle El, after all, had told them that lying was bad unless it was really, really important. Or he said so. Whichever.
"Hullo," the flaming equine replied dutifully. "We saw you." That wasn't meant to be rude, just matter-of-fact.
Sid came abreast of his brother and stopped for a second before looking towards the bat. Normally such a sight would have certainly caught his attention; he'd only seen one other bat in his life, that he could remember, and that had been the Club Seth who was at the Court of Heart sometimes. He had never been even this close to that man, however. Still, the spark of interest was just as quickly buried back beneath the mountain of despair and he didn't make a remark either way.
