It wasn't time for her to be visiting her children, and Pravus' room was far from her mind. So what was she doing here, now? Well, she knew in a small way, but in another she didn't. She had known for a while now where Dymphna's room was in the palace, and was walking towards it with slow, nervous steps. What would she say? Surely Serafino had betrayed her trust by now after all that had happened, and probably told Dymphna about everything, either in frustration or spite. Perhaps she wasn't giving him enough credit, but she severely doubted her secrets were still her secrets.
And if they were? What was she willing to admit? If she told her sister about all the things she'd experienced... what if it changed her mind on being in the court? What if she ruined her sister's dreams with all of her dangerous secrets? Even now, she wanted so badly to make up for everything, that her sister's comfort came before her own mental and emotional overload. But why wouldn't it? She loved her sister, always had, and always would. She envied her, but that couldn't keep her love away. Artemis and Dymphna just shared a calm sensibility they'd inherited from their mother, and she was left with her father's anger and ability to hold a grudge for forever. She hoped Dymphna hadn't inherited that last part, for she certainly had reason to.
She knocked on the door in front of her mechanically, her hand lingering in the air as if she was stuck in a moment of time. Now was the time to figure it out, start rehearsing words in her head to say, even though nothing ever came. She sighed slowly, letting out a large breath of air that shook just a bit at the end. Composure, she had to compose herself. "Dymphna?" She asked quietly, not knowing if her sister would recognise her voice right away. In a way, she hoped she didn't.
