Treasa was enjoying the Capital quite a bit. She was enjoying it just as much as she was enjoying being old enough to visit the place on her own. Fifteen years old, the girl was starting to feel the first inklings of what adult life really meant: Freedom to do whatever it was she'd wanted. She paid the driver and leapt out, stretching slightly before heading down the road, her tail a-wagging. There was just so much for her to see here! She was beaming as she made her way through the stalls, using the money she'd saved to buy small trinkets for her mother, father, and siblings. All of her siblings. There were quite a few of them, she'd found. The gifts would have to be fairly small, then. Beyond her small moneybag, the girl also carried a key to her grandfather's apartment - the place she'd grown up. There was a shred of apprehension towards staying there, but she'd swallow it. It would be much cheaper than staying at a hotel, and it made more sense than travelling all the way there only to turn around and head home. Purchases tucked safely into her napsack, Treasa debated on her next action. It was a quiet day, with a crisp bite to the air and snow still mounded on the ground in places, but the sun was peeking out through the clouds and shining on the streets. Treasa didn't mind the cold. All she saw was a beautiful afternoon, and wanted to find a place to enjoy. She smiled to herself as she jumped up onto a nearby bench, neatly folding ivory paws beneath her chest. The only thing that could make the day better was company.

Lilac had absolutely nothing to do with her day. She'd tortured her brothers to her satisfaction in the first few hours of them all being awake, had proceeded to eat a very tasty breakfast of pancakes and strawberries, then snuck out of the house. The city had very little entertainment for her anymore though. Growing up in one place meant that beyond the age of ten it was just plain boring - as a newfound teenager, it meant Lilac was seriously tempted to resort to thievery for the sheer amusement of it. If she hadn't been raised in a whacko family she might have seriously considered it. Too bad she was the only one to have gotten any morals.. The otter pranced her way around the bazaar, simply looking for something to do. After a while she gave up and flounced onto a bench, her chains slapping the metal back harshly. It was a few minutes before she noticed the girl sitting next to her.. and then she stared, an eyebrow raised. "You are most definitely not from around here." She stated matter-of-factly.

The sun had begun to lull the canine to sleep and her eyelids had begun to flutter open and closed when suddenly, something purple, black, and jingling had positively launched itself beside her on the bench. Treasa blinked and stared, then stared a little more as she drew her tail and limbs in closer to her body.
Torquelhelm, Otter she thought to herself, a game she'd begun to play years before that had never been forgotten. All the time spent in the apartment had made new faces even more exciting, and she and her brother had made a game out of figuring out what various people were.
This person, however, seemed to be a very.. strange individual, to say the least, especially considering that she didn't even seem to notice that someone had already been on the bench, that someone being her. The canine stared at the otter with wide eyes, blinking slightly. Damnit. She wasn't as brave as she'd hoped.
"W-well, sorta and sorta not," she said, shifting and wrapping her tail around her legs. "I grew up pretty close to here, but I live in the Heart's court now..."

The girl seemed so startled that she simply stared back, which made Lilac laugh a bit to herself. A bit speechless, was she? Li' didn't think of herself as overly funny looking, really. There weren't too many otters around in the city, true, but Torquehelms were hardly uncommon. The otter didn't miss the body language, either - the curled up tail, the blinking. Yep, outsider.
Not that she minded. Lilac enjoyed teaching people things.
"Court baby, eh?" She said with a slight smile. "I can tell. No offense, but anyone with mildly dextrous paws could snatch that stuff out of your reach in about two seconds." Lilac said as kindly as she was able, though it came out more warningly than she'd intended. It wasn't her fault - she was just very tempted to swipe the bag and dangle it in front of the girl's face just to point out how easy it would be.

It was a weird feeling, but Treasa almost immediately disliked the otter.
She instinctively pulled her things a little closer to herself, her head inclining ever so slightly to the side as she did. Had that been a threat? If it had been, then it would be appropriate to make one in return, wouldn't it? That seemed to be the way things had worked in the grungy part of town her grandfather's apartment had been in. "I suppose," she replied softly, mulling over her words before speaking. "But that doesn't worry me too much. I remember faces better than anybody, and my mom sometimes serves as executioner for the Court. My grandpa's a Queen of Spades, too."
There. She'd see what the girl thought of that. If it wasn't enough, there was alway Mama Xiven to bring up. And her father with his creepy. Of course, she'd need to introduce the otter to him for her to understand how much of a threat that was, and she really didn't want to get him involved.
