At first it seemed like a simple, fun plan for the evening. Lachlan, in an attempt to cheer up his oldest and dearest friends, had brought him here for a few drinks in an attempt to get him to loosen up, forget about the strange, spindly legs that he'd acquired and just get out and have some fun for once instead of being a silly little workaholic. however, the tiger had, with his permission, skipped out with some pretty little thing he'd managed to catch the eye of and that left the chipmunk here to drink alone. At first he'd been ok with it, wasn't his friend's fault that he was a ladies man after all, but then he'd gotten lonely and a little sulky before he'd had a couple more drinks, it was then that the feline's departing words, that he'd whispered into his little notched ear, repeated themselves through his head. Well, he was here, he was alone and, well... he did need to just get over it, loosen up and attempt to have a wonderful night. Of course he wasn't expecting to have nearly as much fun as the tiger ... but that didn't mean he couldn't find anyone decent to talk to, right? He tapped his claws lightly on his glass and let olive eyes wander, scanning through the rest of the people here for someone that looked like they might provide him with some form of entertainment.

Beer made the world a better place. It made hot women hotter, and unattractive ones easy on the eyes. It didn't impair the sparrow's taste and vanity one bit. He would always be a superficial man when it came to having sex with random strangers. Even if he ended up in a good relationship, he would always hope for those random sexual encounters. Ez took another swig of beer as he mentally reviewed his catches. His purple eyes wandered through the bar. No. No. Too old. Too young. Too fat. Too skinny. Most of them were Torques or regions he didn't want to challenge yet. And then his eyes fell on the visage of a small form. One that shouldn't have spider legs but obviously did. Curiosity got the better of the sparrow as he picked up his drink and made his way towards the chipmunk. He sat down next to him with nothing but a smile in acknowledgment. Was he for real?

His initial sweep of the place hadn't produced anything worth while. Maybe the tiger was right and he was a little too picky ... but he couldn't help it.. .he liked what he liked and that was that. He sighed lightly, polished off another drink and summoned up another one... this was turning into an awful night off. But just as he was starting to think this he caught a bit of movement from the corner of his eye and turned to peer at the sparrow, watching for a moment to make sure it was him who the stranger was smiling at... and surprisingly it was.
Pretty little thing too, feathers, lakeland fluff and rather flattering corsette to boot. He wasn't exactly fond of Lakelanders, but this one had enough good features to smooth that over ... it also helped that this particular lady seemed to be of a lighter build then most of her region ... he could deal with that.
He placed a paw on his chest and a smile graced his features as he dipped his head in a courteous little bow, the alcohol hadn't fuzzed his manners at all.
Good evening miss.
Now he'd just have to sit and wait for a response... hopefully the most interesting person in the bar wouldn't just get up and leave. He was well aware of the fact that his .... limbs weren't' exactly attractive.

The sparrow perked at the invitation. He couldn't help but smile in return. The man was rather polite despite his rather.... usual appearance. That made up for a lot of things. And he was pretty exotic....
"Hello stranger," Ez said in return. He spoke in a voice that was deep for a woman, but it could be chalked up to his region right? They were notorious for their stocky build. And he was as stocky as a sparrow could get... at least he was in his family. He wished he had Zane's figure.
"Waiting for your girl?" Ez asked causally. There was always a chance that a target had a woman he was waiting for. The sparrow didn't like scooping up a man from under a woman's nose. It normally ended up badly. Cat fights were never fun, especially when you were a man in a cat fight.

When the Selkie lady spoke he wasn't sure anymore that was even a lady ... the voice was a little deep ... but she had that Selkie build, and he'd never met a man that wouldn't taken offense to be mistaken for a woman so ... he was in the clear there, right? And she didn't scream and run away either, that was a plus.
His ears twitched a bit when he was addressed again and the question pulled a light chuckle from his maw and a shake of his head. That was the whole reason the damnable Tiger dragged him here.... but he wasn't going to be sharing that with the woman. He felt bad enough for giving into the Tiger's plan in the first place.
I am not so lucky, but if your beau wouldn't be jealous of you speaking with a scruffy little chipmunk then I'd love nothing more.
That little banded brush tail of his wiggled a bit behind him, he was pretty sure she'd be attached, story of his life, but he couldn't help but hope for someone to talk to to make the evening be a little better then a total bust.

Oh he was quite the little gentlemen. This was going to be a lot easier than Ez had originally anticipated. He waved the bartender over for a refill. Motioning to the chipmunk's drink as well.
"You now at least have a bit of good company. My date didn't show up tonight and.... well never mind," he said as he held back a smirk. "You must have an interesting story to tell... perhaps you'd be willing to share over a few drinks?"
The goal was to get the chipmunk to drink as much as possible. He would do everything in his power to load the man up with drinks so he could have a little fun tonight. The morning after would be awkward but.... worth it, he hoped.
"My name is Ez, what's your name sir?" The sparrow delivered a cordial smile that his beak would allow.

He'd have to try and remember to wave the sparrow's fees and put them on his own tab, he definitely didn't want to pretty 'lady' to have to pay after all. Especially now that she was so willing to offer him company and conversation. He smiled softly, keeping his fangs concealed still, and tilted his head a bit as he eyed the taller card.
It depends on the type of story you'd like really.
He wasn't quite certain if he was being asked about why he was here, or how he happened to gain four extra legs and the soft spines on his paws. The latter was usually what people were most curious about and he wouldn't mind sharing that at all, especially over a few drinks with a kind, feathery stranger.
Ez? That was a bit of an odd name .... but he wasn't going to question it ... he'd certainly heard of stranger ones. Instead his smile broadened and his voice became a little lighter, happier.
Jarvis, it's a pleasure Ez.

"A story is a story. A good story is a story that can keep someone interested in a conversation. You look rather interesting, but that's not necessarily a good story that you want to share." He shrugged with a smile on his beak. "It's nice to meet you though, Jarvis. I don't see many Hearts around these days."
He took a long sip of his drink before setting it down again. He gave the man a rather curious look. "There must be a reason why you're here. You must have a girlfriend though, I can't imagine someone as charming as you would be single."
Of course with four spider legs coming out of him there was a large chance of that possibility. But he was nice. That made up for it. It was a rare occasion that superficial people were nice, and a change might be good for the sake of a one night stand.

He paused for a moment and peered at the Selkie, staying quiet as he thought about whether or not he should really answer. Really, what was he so afraid of? If this avian, Ez .... didn't think he was a freak because of his outward appearance well then what could it hurt if he actually talked about what had gotten himself to this point? His ears relaxed a bit as he smiled once more, might as well.
Volunteered myself to get some genetic work done by a Corvie, there were some... unexpected side effects.
He shifted his gaze briefly to the strange limbs that he'd grown used to and moved them ever so slightly. He'd noticed that some people didn't really react negatively to the chitin lined limbs until they moved, so he was still playing the caution card.
The sparrows last comment got him to chuckle softly and shake his head, just barely managing to keep himself from blushing. Girls had always been an awkward subject for him.
No ... not for some time. I think I work too much to really meet anyone.
He shrugged softly, he kept himself busy .... so it wasn't too bad. He was really only lonely tonight because that blasted tiger had gotten his hopes up. So much for a wing man....

"That is an interesting story indeed. And here I thought that you were actually part spider. It must have been a nightmare to wake up with that sort of mutation," Ez said as he pulled his drink towards him.
The sparrow's talon traced around the rim of the glass. Maybe they should move to harder drinks? That would get the ball rolling a bit faster. It was nice though, talking to a polite man who wasn't trying to get his corset off because he was horribly horny.
"A professional man who can't find a woman because he's too absorbed in work. I think it's a terrible shame that a nice man like you doesn't have a girlfriend. You should be a bit more confident in yourself... Your personality certainly outshines your mutation." The sparrow paused to take a long drink. Setting the empty glass down he waved for more.
