Well, that was a strange veer into an entirely different direction. The sudden hugging and kissing was not so much as surprise as the words that followed. The concept of monogomy floated around in her head, searching for something to connect with. It found nothing. It withered. It died. She could faintly recall one of her first flings as a teenager, which had ended with her girlfriend throwing a screaming temper-tantrum, breaking things, and asking her if she even attempted to be faithful. She hadn't attempted it at all, really, told Elsbeth so, which had strangely led to more breaking things and more screaming.
This could be an interesting experiment. No bar-hopping for sex, hooking up with strangers. She hoped Darrien knew what that meant for him. Eh, he would find out soon enough.
"Well," she said, settling comfortably into his lap. "I promise to try my hardest. I think I'll manage it." She twined a lock of his hair around her finger. "If you're quite prepared to deal with the repercussions."
