It had taken quite some time to find the correct office for Darrien and even more time to detach themselves from Shinrai (who had seemed resolute in his conviction that Mnem was plotting to work some kind of black magic on Darrien to ensnare him, which was ridiculous; she didn't need magic), but finally she had gotten him alone. They were currently prowling the streets of Capital City, and she intended to show him a good time. A little talking now, a little dinner later, a little real fun after that. She wondered where she could take him. The Bazaar was always interesting, with its rows and rows of odds and ends and even odder vendors and clientele. She could show him the park, as well. That would be a good place to enjoy a quiet walk and talk. If they weren't beset by children, that was. The best park was usually empty, but it did occasionally come under seige. "I'm happy we could finally get away," she told him warmly. "I must confess I was getting a bit impatient. What parts of the City would you like to see?"

He almost wished that he did not have to go to the office but there was the matter of being undressed in a public place while in his bipedal form. He knew that his father had made arrangements for clothing and anything else he needed to be picked up at the office. Not to mention he did need to make himself a bit more decent for Mnem. He smiled at her warmly, he too had been getting a little impatient when it had taken a lot longer than he had liked to shake the paranoid stallion. He almost scoffed at the idea that people may haps would call him paranoid as well. He had received some strange looks from the man who usually oversaw business at the office at his unusual way of greeting and bidding farewell to those around him. Yet he had shrugged them off and left the canines to do what ever it was they wanted to do for the night, far be it for him to upset the boss’ son and find himself without a job the next morning. He thought for a second before he answered her question. It was not really the city he wanted to see it was her, but he would never be so bold as to say something like that to her, he was too much of a gentle man for such forwardness to a lovely lady he had just met. He smiled softly, took her hand in his, and brought it gently to his lips, kissing the top of it. His blue eyes never leaving her own pink ones. He pulled her hand away slowly and smiled again “Show me your favorite place Mnem…”

He really was terribly charming and attentive, she thought, as he kissed her hand. Not many men did that. Her general philosophy on men was to not keep them around for anything other than sex and other such temporary diversions (or business, but that was a different kind of relationship and didn't count), but she supposed this was something she could enjoy on a fairly-regular basis, so long as he didn't get clingy. That was the one problem she had had with some of the women she had been with, outside the Gardens: too many seemed to think that a roll in the hay meant true and eternal love. Heaven help the ones who thought like that; they were in for a good deal of disappointment, and possible dementia.
But back to the matter at hand. She did not really have a favorite place; her tendency was to spend most of her time in the City either doing business, eating, or hanging out around the house, tending to her plants ad trying to keep the damn place clean. Though there was one amusing location--
"We can go to the bazaar," she told him. "A few vendors have combined their forces and made a bit of an amusement park, you see; a few little rides and some sweets. You might enjoy yourself."
