I was supposed to post this a while ago. >_>; It's been sitting on my computer unedited for a long while. Also I think that song "Invisible" is the creepiest thing EVER.
Unrelated I still find it amusing that Peaches + Pravus = Family of Ninja Cats. Seriously. All Eldy needs is smoke bombs.
Characters: Xiven, Peaches, Xander, mentions Rhi, Lior, Vir, Mer, Othello, Pravus... and more.
Word Count: approximately 1000
Invisible
She was curled up in a rather tight ball on her bed. She didn't want to deal with the world. None of them could understand. None of them really cared. Everyone had someone to fall back on but her. Mom had Hatter. Heilyn had Seth. Rhi had clearly taken her choice by following Lior.
She whimpered as the tears started up again. Rhi. Someone who had had made a promise to stay by her side. The person who had children with her. The person that was not only a friend, but a lover, and a King. Her King. And then... Lior came. The fucking bastard took everything away from her. He couldn't even leave her with one bit of happiness.
Papa. Papa was gone now. She had seen him take his own life right there and then. His body broken and mutilated. He heart fluttered as she curled tighter into herself, clutching the amber necklace.
She heard someone enter her room, but didn't bother to move. There were very few people who would bother to comfort her. Everyone was busy with their own grief. And she was too weak to hide any of it.
"Xiven..." her mother said in a whisper.
"Leave me alone."
"No, you haven't eaten for two days. Have you even slept?"
"Leave me alone."
"Xiv--"
The Queen was at her breaking point. She let out a sharp hiss as she removed herself from her protective ball and grabbed the nearest object. It just so happened to be a rather cute little vase. With all her strength she threw it in the general direction of her mother. Thankfully her aim was off and Peaches was able to easily side step the flying object that shattered against the wall. Honestly, she should have taught the girl better.
Alone. Xiven wanted to be alone. She didn't want to see everyone. The furry bubbled as her fur stood on end. Her claws were digging into the bed as she yelled at her mother to get out of her room or else. The look on her mother's face only made things worse. Why wasn't she afraid? Why did she just look dumbfounded?
"X-Xiven where the hell are you?"
"Just get out!"
Peaches remained where she was, still thoroughly confused.
Xiven growled. Fine. She would just have to physically throw her out! Slipping off her bed she stormed over towards her mother, grabbing her by the back of her collared straight jacket.
The reaction was unexpected, as Peaches let out a surprised shriek. In an instant Xiven let go of her mother. What the hell was going on? She watched as her mother flipped around and backed up looking around frantically.
For whatever reason Xiven decided to look down at her hands. But to her shock they weren't there. She couldn't see her own hands...? That was impossible. But she couldn't see her chest either. Or... any of herself.
She let out a rather horrified mew. She had wanted to be invisible. She had wanted to be left alone unseen by the world. Wonderful. Great. Her bloody wish had been granted. "Mom...."
Peaches jumped again. Slowly she backed away towards the bed. Maybe if she got away from the voice of her daughter she could avoid being smacked upside the head or grabbed again. Not like she could see any of it coming. What had her daughter done? Was this sort of magical power she developed?
"I'm invisible!"
"No kidding."
"Mom, what do I do?"
"I.... I don't know. What did you do?"
"I don't know!"
"Just... don't panic." Peaches said. She ran her fingers through her hair as she thought about what could possible solve this impossible problem. Her thoughts were interrupted, however when the door swung open.
Xander walked in, a curious expression on his face as he looked at his grandmother. She normally wasn't in Mom's room alone. Of course, Xander being himself, never thought to knock when he walked into his mother's room. The sight of his grandmother shouldn't have been a surprise. "I was wondering if Mom was around... I need to talk to her about Othello. Even Vir and Mer tried to help this time but nothing's working."
"Uh..." Peaches murmured. She needed to come up with an excuse before--"Xander, where are your bindings?"
The young feline looked down at his feet. Oh, right, he had taken them off again. Not like he really saw a point in wearing them. They were itchy and annoying. He should wear them, he knew that, but he didn't care enough to listen to his Grandmother's protest. "I left them with Othello. He was panicking before I left to get Mom... where is she?"
"Xander, sweetie, I'm a little busy right now, so could you try and calm down Othello with Grandma's help?"
The unexpected voice caused the little yellow feline to jump. His fur stood on end as he looked around for the source of his mother. No. She wasn't anywhere in sight and he couldn't even guess where she was. He looked around behind the door for a few moments before he felt a sudden tug on his mane. His mother's voice was crystal clear in his ear.
"Out. Now. Sweetheart."
Xander jerked forward with the release of his mane and scurried out of the door as fast as his legs could carry him.
Peaches sighed and shook her head. She had seen the slight tug on the boy's mane, and was left with a queasy feeling in her stomach. This was all so very strange. She walked towards the door, heals tapping as she turned around to ask the air, "Are you going to be all right?"
"I think so. Just please go and help Othello for me. And if you can't do anything ask Heilyn for help."
Peaches nodded as she quietly shut the door behind her.
Xiven waited for the echoing of her mother's shoes to disappear before she bellowed a curse word and attempted to kick the nearest thing. Losing her balance completely she hit the floor with a muffled thump, still unseen to any individual who walked in.
At least they wouldn't see her being utterly ridiculous sprawled out on the floor. She snorted as she looked to the shattered glasses vase in contemplation. So... she was invisible. Now what? How long would it last? What had even caused this?
Why had she even wanted this? This was stupid and impractical. And yet... the thoughts changed nothing.
Great. Maybe she should take after her mother and stalk people?
