Besaba strolled out of the shop with two vials full of an unknown liquid, and a few empty ones to add to her collection (honestly, she had enough, but these ones were so /fancy/!). They were quickly stuffed into a small pack that was then slung over her back. The result of the sudden movement was quite a few glances in her direction. The feline tended to get a lot of attention for her looks ever since she'd attained bipedal and it wasn't an altogether bad experience. She worked herself to the core so every now and then she took a day off (it was not very often at all), and it normally involved flitting around and flirting and seeing how many men she could get thoroughly intrigued and bothered. It was a game more than anything, as Besaba had very picky tastes in men and very few had become actual prospects to her. At the core, Besaba was a lady, and while she gave her attention to many, she gave her body to few. But she was a creature with needs like any other. The keeper of a stall of jewelry across from her met her gaze, obviously having been looking at her for a while now, and smiled brilliantly. She returned the gesture with just as much enthusiasm and even waved before turning on her heel and sending bubblegum hair flying as she started off in the other direction. Maybe she'd grab lunch. Maybe she'd find a nice gentleman to pay for it. It wasn't using someone for money if they got something out of it too, her company was quite worth a small meal she felt.

It was a lunch break that was needed. The purple eyed sparrow couldn't help but stop on his way when he spotted so many lively people on the street today. Ezekiel paused in front of the jewelry stall, ignoring the people who were fluttering around him. He picked up one of the sterling silver chains, eying the small pendant on the end of it. It was in the shape of the diamond crest, tactfully carved with great detail and care. He was half tempted to buy it, but it really wasn't his style. He glanced back up at the stall tender. Apparently he was flirting with someone. The sparrow glanced over his shoulder, looking at the woman in question. Bright pink and black. She had a nice back. Cute tail. Cute butt. It was worth a shot wasn't it? "Oh my," Ez said as he quickly went to close the gap between then. "What a stunning maiden you are! I haven't seen someone as graceful and slenderly built as you in my entire life."The Jack of Diamonds smiled as graciously as he could with a beak, "Would you like to join me for lunch?"

The pink and black feline paused for just a moment to let a rather flustered looking couple storm by, smirking to herself as their argument raged on, oblivious to those around them. She was about to take a step when the sparrow's words made her turn, the compliment obviously being directed at her. She knew she was fairly appealing, but the fact that he had so boldly approached her made her grin with a flip of her hair. Posed with hands on hips, she gave the male a quick eye though not altogether inconscpicuously.
Tall, slender, beautiful eyes. And he seemed to have a thing for her from first glance, all things she liked in a man. "Thank you very much, handsome... though I have to say if you must not get out enough! My beauty is easily matched." Her voice came out in a rich purr as she smiled, slightly bashful at the prospect of being the most graceful and slender female he'd actually ever come across.
His offer was even more appealing because she'd already been on her way to lunch, but even if she had not she probably would have taken him up on the offer. It wasn't everyday one met someone so charming and friendly. What's the worst that could happen?
"I would love to. My name is Besaba, and you are?" Noticing the rank on his chest she raised an eyebrow curiously. A Jack, of Diamonds, was he titled? Imagine her, flirting with nobility again. Somehow she seemed to be attracted to the powerful types without even intending to be.

"My name is Ezekiel, but most people call me Ez." He smirked, "It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Besaba."
The sparrow offered his hand to the woman. Might as well shake hands with someone you just met, right? That way you could treat them to lunch with a little more confidence.
"Would you be willing to be subjected to a rather nice cafe and restaurant around the bend. They have wonderful array of items that I've been dying to try some more of." He smiled. "And of course the meal will be on me. I couldn't let such a lovely woman like yourself pay for a meal."
Hopefully this would lead to more than just a meal. Of course he wasn't going to get his hopes up. Not everyone was willing to be as.... frisky as he was. People these days were such horrible prudes.

She took the extended hand and smilled brilliantly. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Ezekiel." She liked the full name, short names could be so... pet-like. People weren't pets, they had full interesting names for a reason. But to avoid being a hypocrite, she realized that once she'd allowed her father to call her by a nickname more than her full name. But who talked down to their parents?
His handshake was firm but politely delicate, very much like his appearance would suggest. She listened to him explain the cafe he wanted to go to with an expression of interest, as hers had certainly been roused. It sounded lovely, and as she couldn't place exactly where he was talking about, she assumed she'd never been inside before. So it was an adventure then, something new!
"Well that sounds perfect. Oh thank you, you are quite the gentleman." Normally she felt a little guilty preying on genuinely nice men to get things because she was pretty, but this time around... Well, there was more than one way to pay the man back. She smirked secretly to herself, offering her arm to him and waiting for the male to escort her. If only he knew that she was amongst the few who didn't believe in being so prudish. It had been a while since she'd actually indulged in flirting and... taken it to the next level, perhaps today would be a day to get into fun old habits.
If all he was interested in was lunch, well, that was still good. She did enjoy a good meal!

The sparrow had to choke back a happy chirp at her comment. Hooking his arm in his she escorted her to the said Cafe. It was a nice establishment, finely decorated in a style typical of the Esterberry region. Ez couldn't help but raise his eyebrow at some of the things on the walls.
That aside they were seated promptly and given a large, finely decorated menus. The prices were rather steep, but if the food was as good as he had been told, it would be worth it. But wow. This was expensive for lunch.
"So, I'm curious Miss Besaba, all Corvistowneians have a specialty... what might yours be?" He had glanced her up and down as quickly as possible without looking suspicious. It was a way to start the conversation at least. He certainly didn't want to rant about himself, that would probably put the poor woman to sleep.

She made sure to give the place a good eye before stepping inside, it looked as high class as she had been expecting and idly she wondered how she'd never noticed ti before. Well, probably because when she went out alone, she didn't bother to spend a lot of money on food. It was a necessity, but admittedly a guilty pleasure when she allowed herself to indulge.
He started off their conversation by asking about her life's passion and she smiled a bit twistedly. It was always interesting to see the reaction most people gave when she confessed what had intrigued her Corvistowneian side. "I have a fascination with finding ways to replace and enhance muscles and organs, the body has so much more potential to be so much stronger. I try to stay away from mechanics though, I much prefer... organic alternatives." Well, the molten silver hadn't been necessarily organic, but eh, nobody was perfect.
Not at all one to enjoy going on and on about herself either, Besaba figured that bit would be more than enough to weird out the sparrow or bore him. "So what about yourself? Do any passions or aspirations lead you in particular?" Her tail curled and uncurled in contentment as she glanced down over the menu, having just caught his wandering glance of her frontal profile. A twitch of a smirk was the only possible indication she'd noticed, and it obviously bothered her none!

Oh this was a fun game to play. The sparrow could have shivered with happiness. He hadn't been able to flirt with someone who flirted back in a while. He was however, surprised by her specialty in research. He hadn't expected it from someone like her. The again, what should he expect from any Corvistowneian? They were full of surprises.
Thankfully.
"That's an amazing thing to specialize in, I'm curious to know how successful you've been," He said as he glanced down at the menu, skimming what would be the best choice for the afternoon.
"Oh, I'm just an event planner. Parties, family reunions, and on some rare occasions, weddings. I own a pretty small office space here in the city. One day I plan on joining the courts if I can get my act together," He said with a small chuckle. He threw the woman a wink and a grin when she looked up.

She purred when he complimented her, pleasantly surprised at his lack of judgemental repulsion. It gave him serious bonus points and really, she did love to be complimented when she gave in and talked about herself and her passions in life. He seemed to be genuinely interested, how... interesting. She leaned forward and crossed her arms below her chest, the position intent and intimate. She'd simply picked the first appealing thing from the menu and gone with it, if she took her time she'd second guess and the meal was really secondary to her company at this point.
"Why thank you, it's... unusual to be sure. I've had limited success thus far unfortunately, muscles and organs are fickle things and it's hard to mimic the purposes and adaptive measures they serve inside the body. Replicating with another material can have... unfortunate results. However I am making a name for myself with hair potions, go figure." She laughed, realizing she'd accidentally gone on a bit of a tangent. It was more than she ever usually talked or divulged about herself. Hmmm, interesting.
Her smile widened into a grin as the male spoke, taking in the joke at the end with a chuckle. The wink and grin would have made her smile impishly had she not already been grinning, but a rather mischevious glimmer slid behind her eyes for a moment instead. Oh she did so love being flirted with, and she loved men confident enough to put themselves out like this, as normally she was considered intimidating apparently. It was a Corvie thing, seriously. "Well that sounds like enjoyable work. I had been toying myself with the idea of joining the courts when I also 'get my act together'." Of course, she didn't know which court, as the court of her suit still held bitter memories unfortunately.

"It sounds like a terribly complicated process. Living tissue and inorganic materials mixed must cause quite a bit of trouble, I can't imagine trying to change organs into some other sort of material." Ez did always enjoy the crazy things that Corvies wanted to do. Some of them were very successful while others... were just crazy. Hair potions though, was an interesting thing to substitute her actual job.
"Hair potions? Is your mane an inspiration for that, or did you manage to get something that wonderful from your potions?"
If he hadn't like they way he looked so much, he probably would have gone for one. Manes were rather pretty things, and definitely looked good on someone like Besaba.
He shrugged at the comment about getting her act together as well. "I suppose the courts can wait. They're not going anywhere, but we obviously are. I'm sure you can acquire fame and fortune for your research, and that would be far better than a court title."
When the waitress wandered over, Ez gave her the second thing on the menu that looked decent before turning back to Besaba, he was far more interested in the conversation they were having and her than food. She seemed to be having the same interest.
