Aurelius sat under a tree in the park, probably alone for the first time in his entire life. Usually he was at least with his siblings Ilana and Claudius, and on most days he was with all four of his siblings, but today, he was absolutely alone. Teenage hormones were beginning to ravage his body, and those who knew his secret, would know exactly how painful this was, possibly more painful then it was for most all teenagers. But of course...he wouldn't know this, mostly because...he wasn't quite sure what his secret was. You see, it is something he was born with, something he always felt, so he doesn't really know the difference between the way he feels and the way everyone else does. To him...everyone felt this way. It always suprised him when he ment an antisocial person...or someone who was not very quick to make friends. It hurt him...because he thought that they must be hurting so bad.... Indeed, now he was suffering from heartbreak, though he wasn't exactly sure why. He thought it might have a little bit to do with Igal. He had always been a wonderful figure in Aurelius' life, and he truely cared for the man. Though that wasn't much of a suprise. Aurelius cared about everyone he ever met. Though now he was beginning to feel different things...potentially because of the raging hormones. His mother, Astyana, and Igal had become alot more intimate lately, he could tell as plain as he could tell day from night. Was it jealousy? It was an emotion he didn't quite understand. Why would he be jealous? He shook his head, laying it between two limegreen hooves as he let his eyes wander up to the skys and watch the clouds go by.

As it was later in the evening, the park was largely empty. Those who passed by had other destinations in mind, and did not pay even the slightest glance to the young deer. Because of that, it might come as a slight shock when the sound of voices began to grow louder with proximity. Coming around the path walked two sparrows, both proudly wearing their biped forms, and clearly engaged in a deep and somewhat heated conversation. The smaller of the two, a Kahmden, looked particularly frustrated, and was gesturing at the Lakelander, who just looked fed-up. They certainly stood out, especially with how quiet the park had been prior to their arrival. He might be surprised, however, buy the sudden arrival of a mixed-realm skunk, who had been sniffing along behind the tree and had run right into him. She did not seem to realize her invasion of space, however, and started to sniff along him, giggling softly. " Hiya!" she chirped, grinning broadly as she nosed him all over. She had just met him, and of course that meant she needed to investigate him thoroughly to get a feel for him. He was little, like her! Well, a little bit bigger, but still pretty little. And he smelled so different from her family! No feathers. That was strange, but his fur was even different from her father's... Hearing the voice, the smaller of the two sparrows stopped talking abrupty, turning to face the two. " Asha?!" she called out, quickly moving to the tree. Oh, god, this was a disaster.

Aurelius lifted his head slightly at the sound of oncoming voices. He didn't really know why he had been suprised by the voices, though he had been slightly. He looked around the park and realized that there really werent that many people around. In fact, he was the only one from the looks of it. That coupled with the fact that he was so lost in his inner thoughts might have made him suprised to hear loud chattering. He must have been at the park for a while, or at least...so he thought. He could have swarn there had been more people around when he first arrived.
It was strange when the people who had made the noise in the first place came into view, as they were birds. The majority of people that Aurelius had met thusfar were those of his own breed, save for Igal and maybe one bird. He sighed, his head going back between his paws. Yeah...Igal had been one of the only people who was not a deer. He tried not to think about him...instead trying to remind himself of all the people he had met that had not been deers. Kare hadn't been a deer. He sighed again, feeling a great pain within him. She had been quite a nice fox, and he wondered if he would ever see her again. He shook his head, feeling a bit of a blush coming on. What was this new feeling that kept plagueing him? It was as if he wanted to be more affectionate towards them...but he didn't know how. He hadn't really had talks with his parents yet about the birds and the bees, despite his older age...
Suddenly...he felt something bump into his hindquarters, and he could have shot right into the air about a hundred feet. He turned around to see who it was at the sound of a voice, and was confronted by a small skunk child. She looked to be partially Kahmden...and of a region that he had not seen before...or at least...hadn't ever met. After getting over the initial suprise, he gave her a small smile. "Hello yourself! I'm Aurelius...whats your name?" he asked with a bit of a smile. A new friend prospect always seemed to brighten his mood. It was then that he saw the Ace on the child's chest, and his face fell slightly. How unfortunate...she did seem like a nice little kid...someone who he could get along with...but then again...Aurelius had always been quick to judge. No matter, Aces didn't bother him really, as hardly anything did, he only felt bad because he knew that Aces always had it hard...and he hated to see people suffer for something they couldn't help, like his brother Irving.
Then the birds that he had spotted before were racing toward him and he wondered if he had done anything wrong, taking a couple of steps backword, and looking at the little one whose name was obviously Asha.

Asha, who looked to be about 8 years old, was completely oblivious to the young deer's inner turmoil, and she continued to crawl all over him. Finally, she mis-stepped, tumbling off his back and letting out a quiet squeal of joy. Giggling, she turned on her back in front of him. Being outside was such an adventure, and it wasn't often that she met someone new! Usually there was no one else outside when she went for walks with her sisters, and if there was they weren't nearly as nice as this person!
"It's nice to meet you, Aur... Aurelius!" Asha proclaimed happily. She had no way to see the way his face fell. As she turned to face him again, her milky eyes simply stared into the distance, not seeing him at all. Completely unfamilliar with the idea of personal space, she started to sniff him, practically touching his nose with her own as she investigated him. After a moment's sniffing and ignoring his request for her name, she sat back, proclaiming, "You smell nice."
Her head turned at the sparrow's call, ears erect. The Kahmden sparrow trotted up, slightly winded with the effort. "Asha! You've gotta stay close!" the sparrow said quickly, glancing from the skunk to the deer. "I'm so, so sorry. She's just a baby, she has no idea of personal space... I hope she hasn't been bothering you."
"Relax.[/b]" the taller of the sparrows said as she caught up, raising one delicate eyebrow as she looked the small group over. She carried herself proudly, almost puffing out her chest to display the "10" that glowed vividly against the white of her chest. "They're kids. They play. He's not going to hurt her, are you?[/b]" those words were directed at the deer, her eyes almost daring him to say otherwise. As much as she disliked her half-sibling's rank... She feared her father's rage, should anything happen to the girl.

He watched the young Ace play before him, and wished his mood was a tad better so that he could join in the fun and games. While the prospect of making a new friend always did boost his mood a great deal, it had sunk back to his saddened state very suddenly. That was hormones for you. Up and down and up and down...and it was perpetual. He tried to cheer himself up with the antics of the small child and it helped slightly. Her giggling was adorible at the very least.
It was then that he noticed something about the child. She seemed to have...eeriely milky eyes. Was she blind? Yet another thing to frown about, and yet her smile kept shining through. It was touchingly tragic. She managed to be happy...despite that she was a blind ace and her life was doomed in a way. He had no idea if his life was doomed, which in a way it was though he didn't know why, but he certainly was in a better place then her. And yet he was the one that was sad. In a deep prophetic like moment...he realized he had alot to learn...from even just this small little bundle. At her comment about him smelling nice, he sniffed her a bit, making audible sniffing noises to let her know what he was doing. "You don't smell half bad yourself....You smell like you've been rolling in grass and flowers." he smiled.
It was then that the two birds sprang upon him in such a manner that he did jump a bit. So the girl's name was Asha...well...that was one way to find out someone's name. The first sparrow appologized profusely...and Aurelius just gave her a slightly confused look, "Oh...no...she hasn't been a bother at all..."
When the other sparrow got a moment to speak he ducked his head slightly. The way she asked the question and the way she looked at him making him very uneasy indeed. "Oh no...I would never..." he said trailing off a bit...honestly a bit afraid of the overbearing sparrow.

Asha giggled at the young deer's words, her smile stretching slightly. She tried to climb over him, then tumbled off the other side to fall onto her back, all four of her paws waving in the air in his general direction. She could guess that he was a little older than her, but surely he wasn't too old to play...? "That makes sense! I was rolling in them so that they would put their smell on me." she said, one of her soft paws connecting with his snout and almost stroking it. "I smell just like one of the ladies in the court, huh?" she said, beaming at him.
She turned in the general direction of her two half-siblings, ears swivelling to the sound of their voices. "Oh, come on, guys.. Me an 'relius were just playing. He's really nice, see?" the skunk said, clambering up onto the young deer again and putting her head atop his, resting it directly between his antlers and beaming. The smaller of the two sparrows opened her mouth as if to say something, then closed it again, and the Lakelander laughed openly at the sight.
"I didn't think so.[/b]" she said, giving her sister a glance. "I'm Ceren, and this is my sister, Mori. You've already met Asha, I see. It's a good thing. She could use more friends her age.[/b]" it also gave her and her sister a chance to talk about the changes that would be happening at home. Mori gave the boy a small smile, looking at Asha with a slightly worried expression that she knew the girl wouldn't be able to see.
