"I've tried Braille, but my wings aren't as good as hands would be. I only get things right half the time." He sighed. And if he had eyes of any sort he would have rolled them. It was frustrating being the scientist and not having the hands or eyes to do the research. One day he was going to find a way to help himself. Though that day was probably far off.
And really, Vesper had no reason to worry. The mouse had no concept of beauty. He really just liked her for who she was. "We've tired scents... like the cork you took out of the solution should smell like lavender. The problem with that system, though, is that sometimes the smells end up mixing. It's a little frustrating so.... still working on things that might be a decent solution. Different shaped bottles mixed with scents for the dangerous chemicals seem to work. Only now... Eurwen didn't bother to tell me even what part of the lab she stored the supplies I'm looking for."

Vesper couldn't help but smile when she was watching him. He looked so flustered and while Vesper understood his frustration she also noticed that he was particularly cute when he was agitated. The rat pushed the thought off and instead returned to the problem at hand.
"That's all sorta what I expected from my suggestions. Well, you are the doctor... I probably can't think of anything that you haven't already, but the least I can do is help you out with your projects for the day. I'm free all night." Healing wasn't exactly her greatest intrigue in life, she much preferred destroying things, but Radz really had a great thing going. It kept her in amazing shape considering the beatings she took.
Could he use his science to make things stop healing? That'd be pretty damn neat. "What have you been working on lately? Anything new?"

"Just because "I'm a doctor" doesn't make me closed to suggestions. And anyway, I'm not really a doctor. I'm nothing like my Mom when it comes to helping people." He shrugged. His mother had made it her life to heal the sick. Even if healing the Lowlanders was impossible, he was still curious to see what chemical compounds could do to any sort of wound.
Detrimental or otherwise. He supposed that was the major difference between him and his mother. She wanted to help people and he just wanted to help maybe one or two people and use everyone else for experiments. Vesper he wanted to help. She didn't seem to like being part Lowlander after all.
"Nothing all that new... though were you around for my experiments to make already clotted scratches bleed again? I'm curious to see if I could make a Mid-Ranger bleed from their cut involuntarily or stop blood flow completely. Of course it's not like I can test it on Mid-Rangers, but in theory I think it's interesting."

Vesper chuckled a little to herself, "Mr. Scientist then? Regardless, just because you're not the same sort of doctor doesn't make you one. You help me out, most people wouldn't." She gave him an affectionate poke with her tail to emphasize that.
What he said next nearly had Vesper in stitches. This... This was why she really, truly, enjoyed his company. It always felt like he was reading her mind.
"No, I don't think I was... Bloody pity, though." Making Mid-Rangers bleed involuntarily, though, that sounded pretty damn cool. "...I mean, who's to say we can't? I can get you a Mid-Ranger." The ratdog smirked a little, tail curling up once more as she thought about it. "Personally, it's for the sake of science... an' I say if the Mid-Ranger is enough of a jerk he might deserve to bleed a little more." There was always one card in a crowd, no matter how high-minded they tried to pretend they were, that would take their anger out on a 'mangy lowlander'. Vesper wouldn't mind to see any one of them bleed a little for it.

"I suppose Mr. Scientist works rather nicely." He said with a smile. He tilted his head at the sudden sound of laughter. The mouse mix didn't particularly see what was funny. He had just given her an honest answer on what his research was. And what she said hardly clarified as to why she was laughing. Though the reassuring poke from before was proof that she wasn't laughing at him.
But it made things a bit more confusing as he narrowed his empty eye sockets. No point in getting too worked up over it.
"You could? That would be nice. Though... perhaps if you could find one we wouldn't even have to get them here, we would just do a trail run outside of a lab setting. And if it was someone you got into a fight with we could test what the metabolism did.... ah I'm ranting." A slight blush appeared on his face.
The Ace was rather silent as he watched Radz. Did the mouse eagle have a crush on that girl? Or was it something else entirely. He had never really known about all of that stuff so whatever it was it was just confusing. Maybe he would ask later and Radz wouldn't ignore him?

Vesper smiled a little as she caught the slight narrowing of his empty eyes. Confusion? If she'd gotten better at reading that eyeless stare. Of course, she hadn't exactly shared the humor in her words... How could she? 'I'm sorry, it's just that I find your logical nature adorable and endearing.' Surely that would go over well. Vesper rolled her eyes to herself.
As Radz ran off with his idea, Vesper's smile grew and her tail absently swayed in a display of fondness that was far more canine than rodent. "Oh don't worry, I don't mind rants. Not the sort of rants that suggest I get to knock someone around, at least." There was a mischievous pleasure growing in her tone. "If this is something I could do for you, I'd be more than happy to. Just tell me what to do and I'll be your lab rat." She glanced back at herself, snickered. "Literally, I guess."

The mouse mix actually chuckled at the comment about her being a lab rat. A small part of him wondered what she really looked like. It was difficult to understand what things looked like when you never had any sight. Perhaps one day he would find some sort of magical solution to the problem?
That seemed like a long way off. And recently he hadn't had any successful experiments to call his own. It seemed like he never had any successful experiments. He shifted awkwardly, his head turning when he thought he heard someone at the door. After a few moments there was nothing but silence. Where was Eurwen anyway? Had she gotten into trouble again?
"I'm going to have to get my act together then," a smile twitched onto his face, the blush still evident under his fur. He tilted his head to one side, "I haven't eaten much today. Would you like to go out with me for a bit to eat?"
"You could just say you like her..." the Ace commented.

Vesper tilted her head when Radz looked toward the door. Had he heard something she hadn't? Was his blasted sister home to wreck her good time with Radz? She stared daggers into the wall, waiting and cursing his impressive hearing for catching whatever it was that she had missed. Finally he relaxed and, hiding a sigh of relief, allowed the tension to drain from her muscles. Thank the suits.
"Damn straight. I'd like to see what sort of damage a Corvie can do." Vesper chuckled darkly but paused momentarily at his invitation. Despite herself she felt a blush creeping over her cheeks which only made her more frustrated at herself. What a stupid little girl she was sometimes! "Don't think I've had much m'self. Sure."
The ratdog's tail curled up happily. "Y'know, I actually think I know a place nearby that I'm not banned from." The thought of food was slowly getting to her, making her stomach rumble a little. Stupid thing.

He ignored the Ace again. He would talk to it later. Right now he had to focus on pretending to be somewhat normal.
Myron whimpered. It was something that he did fairly often, so he figured that the mouse wouldn't mind. But really it was silly that he was playing this weird game. If you liked someone, why not tell them the truth? And he seemed to really like her.
For a moment the mouse hybrid wondered how many places Vesper had actually been banned from. One of his eyebrows quirked. "Well, as long as it serves food I'm fine. Ah... I need to get my wallet first. Hopefully my sister didn't move that."
He turned around from where he stood and walked the same path that he always did. His wing tips brushing against the compartments in the walls. When he found the proper one he reached forward for the handle, gripping it in his mouth.
When it was open, the Ace confirmed the contents. He slipped the bag around his neck and shut the little compartment. He returned to Vesper's side, "All right, let's go!"

Though Vesper often warned herself that it was just plain odd, the ratdog couldn't help but watch Radz as he maneuvered himself. How he managed to get around without incident was always fascinating. It was especially intriguing when she considered how often she'd slammed into walls after first losing her eye... Of course, she was also drunk a great deal of the time after that.
Probably didn't help the lack of depth perception.
As Radz returned, Vesper's tail curled up happily and she lead them both outside. "Awesome. This place definitely serves food and its pretty good considering that they let a Lowlander in at all - I think they're hippies or some crap like that. Whatever, all that really matters is that the foods good and it was worth it to me to actually be allowed to go back."
Vesper lead the way, walking casually through the back allies until they popped out in a surprisingly clean part of the city. Radz wouldn't be able to see it for himself, but he could probably feel (and smell) the change.
