His tail twitched furiously as he sniffed at the substance in front of him. His sister was supposed to be helping him, but she was off fooling around. What was a blind mouse to do? He didn't want to have to depend on people for the rest of his life. He wanted to be able to do his experiments without having his sister's help. She didn't understand what his experiments meant. She didn't appreciate them in the slightest. And where the hell was Eurwen anyway? Did she get in some sort of trouble again? His little wings twitched furiously as his feathers puffed up. He didn't want to have to patch her up again. Honestly she should have been able to take care of herself by now. His ears twitched when he heard a sound. Someone was letting themselves in. He didn't turn around, he just went back to sniffing the safer chemicals, that was assuming everything was in order. The smokey Ace remained commented every now and then if the mouse came to something that may have been dangerous. He remained silent though at the mouse's clear aggravation. He seemed angrier than usual, enough that there was a trickle of blood seeping out of the mouse's eyes.

It was always satisfying to see the key turn in the lock and hear the pleasant 'click' of acceptance. Sometimes she still wondered why Radz and Eurwen hadn't just run away while they got the chance. Eurwen probably wanted to, but Radz allowed Vesper to stay. That he gave her her own key to his hideout was a good feeling, even better was knowing that he hadn't changed the locks afterward. Smirking to herself, the ratdog slipped inside and locked the door behind her before peeking around the lab. Usually Radz was working on an experiment of some sort and, if he wasn't, then Vesper would just lounge around until he was back. It was only a little surface cut, a nasty thing across her cheek, but she figured Radz would enjoy testing his ointments on it. It didn't take long to find the blind scientist and Vesper was pleasantly surprised to see him alone. Less pleasant, however, was the look of frustration that weighed on him. "Yo. How's it going?" Vesper made her way into room, flopping down nearby but out of the way. "Some hussy made a mess of my face, thought it'd be a good opportunity to test something." It'd be a real favor to herself if she could manage to keep what few attractive features she had by not horribly disfiguring her face in bar fights.

The mouse nearly jumped at Vesper's voice. He hadn't been expecting her to show up, but then again he had been more focused on his frustration than anything else. The Corvie swiveled his head around to "look" at her.
She had gotten into another fight. A brief frown crossed his face before it returned to its normal neutral state. He brushed the few drips of blood that were seeping out of his eye sockets with the tip of his wing. "You know, you should be more careful," he commented lightly as he wandered his way over to her. His nose twitched as he smelt the alcohol and cigarettes.
"You know if you like her you should probably say so..." the smoke ace commented.
He ignored it. "I have some ointment now that shouldn't give you a rash. I just... have no idea where Eurwen put it. She moved a few things without telling me," He waved a wing. "I'm fine by the way, and how are you besides the bar fight?"

Vesper's tail curled up slightly as a smirk spread over her muzzle. His hollow stare intrigued her more than disgusted her. If he was anyone but who he was, she would've trampled his boundaries and just stuck a curious paw in his eye socket but Radz deserved more respect than to have her poke him in the eye. You just didn't see things like that everyday... "I've been doing better. I've been trying to stick to fighting people my own size." Vesper laughed a bit and rolled her good eye as she watched Radz move closer.
Vesper followed the motion of his wing, looking into the ordered chaos that was a scientist's lab. She'd never seen one before his and it still intrigued her. "How about I lend you a paw while she's out? I may not be much of an assistant or anything, but one good eye between us is better than nothing."

"Oh good, we wouldn't want you taking on someone too big to handle. That would be one hell of a mess," He commented with a small smile. Vesper really had a good sense of humor, didn't she? And she was more than willing to put up with him and all of his troubles. It was nice having a friend around rather than a sister who could easily make him more frustrated than necessary.
His empty eye sockets widened briefly at her offer to help him. "Actually that would be fantastic. Having someone who can see, one eye or otherwise, would make things much easier..." He paused as he turned his head to "look" in the general direction of his supplies. "Do you think you can find an ointment labeled "L.R. seven for me? If you get me the vile I should be able to tell you what it is before you even open it."

Vesper laughed softly, shaking her head. "I was doin' the sort of crap when you guys found me... and, y'know, getting beat within an inch of my life is only so much fun... once, maybe twice." The ratdog rolled her one good eye but she was serious. So had no intention of dying again. One lost eye was enough to at least teach her where to back off.
When Radz's eye sockets widened, Vesper's grin did as well.
"I sort of figured as much." Still grinning, quietly pleased with herself for being able to help at all, Vesper moved over to his supplies and scoured the table. Maybe she'd get to see him doing science-y stuff today? She was always a little curious about that, and his intelligence to play with chemicals and such kept the intrigue going. Finally she located a vile with the proper label. "Alright, got it."

The Corvie listened to Vesper as she looked for the right vile. This was nice. At least Vesper was willing to help him unlike his sister. She really only did it because of obligation.
"Just pop the cork out and pour a little on the wound. Two drops should be enough ointment to take care of it. It's a mixture of peroxide so it's probably going to bubble a bit when you put it on." His tail curled around him as he he waited for her to finish.
Hopefully there wouldn't be any hissing of the substance on the open wounds. Of course it wouldn't do anything bad, it just meant there was debris in the cut that probably should be picked out to avoid infection. Sadly he wasn't capable of such a feat. One day though he'd figure out a way to see. Simply so he could take care of himself.

"Oh, fun." Vesper hated peroxide, it always burned like a son of a bitch. Some would argue that this was because she was dirty and got into fights in the middle of alleys. It was easier to blame the peroxide than to change her habits.
Radz would hear the cork pop softly and, after two drops, Vesper inhaled between her front teeth. "Bloody bugger, that does sting a bit." The ratdog let her breath out in a hiss but the wound itself was quiet as it did it's work. As the stinging was beginning to subside, Vesper returned the cork to its vial and placed the vial back where she'd found it.
"Ahh, that's much better actually." The ratdog wrinkled her nose and tried in vain to look at the wound on her cheek. "I wish I would've met you guys sooner, I probably wouldn't be the mess of scars I am now." Her tail curled up behind her as she moved over to settle near Radz. "So, what were you up to before I interrupted you?"

Radz chuckled. Which was probably a surprise in itself considering he rarely did that. "Well, at least we can help you out now. I might not be able to make the scars go away completely, but I'm going to try if I can make a formula that will make scar tissue fade. That wouldn't fix hair not growing back but... I'm sure that could be solved rather easily."
His tail curled as he made himself comfortable. "Nothing all that much. I've been looking for various formula's that my sister didn't put back in the right place. We've been trying to prefect a method so I can work on things alone. So far it's been going miserably."
The Ace remained silent. He knew if he spoke at the moment Radz would just ignore him. He wanted to be useful though.... he could probably help if the mouse mix didn't ignore him as often.

Vesper liked the sound of his laugh. It was rare and, on the occasion she did hear it, it always made her feel slightly accomplished. Wearing a contended smirk, Vesper sprawled out near Radz. "That'd be cool though, lessen 'em a bit... then, at least, if I ever got human it wouldn't be so noticeable." That sounded nice, though Vesper had grown so accustomed to her odd array of scars that seeing herself without them would probably be weird at this point.
Glancing over to the work table, Vesper frowned a bit. What it must be like to be truly blind... She turned from the table to Radz himself, unaware of their ghostly watcher, to peer into those hollow sockets. A part of her wished she could help him gain some sort of sight... and the rest of her was left wondering if he'd still be so willing to keep her company if he could actually see her ugly mug.
Stupid thoughts.
"What about that raised text stuff... Uh, Braille?" Would that work with his wings? Huh... probably not. The ratdog rolled slightly, stretching her dexterous toes as she peered back across the room at the vials. "Or scented markers? A cardshark tried to cheat me out of some money with some silly magic trick that did something like that." She later beat the snot out of him, but Radz didn't need to know that.
