Pm me if you want in.Souris reluctantly stepped into the swanky, raunchy old pub, casually glancing around for her date. If requesting an expert's opinion on his expertise could be counted a date. Evidently, in her mind, she could; for she'd taken the trouble to groom her fur thoroughly, and was tensely awaiting to see his reaction, as she scanned the crowd for his maroon and pink form. She'd discovered a circlet, thin and intricately woven, informal yet beautiful, set with a small but unnaturally bright blue sapphire, and immediately sent off a missive to Cauter, requesting his assistance in identifying its properties, nature, and more importantly, uses and drawbacks, before she persisted in handing down the item. Not to mention, give her the perfect excuse to meet him again. Learn more about him, and decide if...but she cut off that thought before it could form. Sternly reminding herself again that he was masculine, and while he did treat her with the respect any feminine Yarrow should command, was only a friendly acquaintance, and not a date.

Cauter trotted into the bar, he was wearing his nicest leather vest and a pair of fine black pants with a few small chains hanging from them. The tiny bouquet of flowers clutched in his hand was seeming more and more like a bad idea with every step he took. He knew that she was a Yarrow and that they would probably offend her but...damn if there wasn't something about the woman that just drew his attention... Aside from her beauty. He was ready with a few more cards of information, should she require the whereabouts of a few more of his friends...and a bit of cash...had to buy the lady at the very least a drink...wouldn't be right otherwise... Moving past the crowd by the door he caught a glimpse of her bright fur and hurried over. "Souris! So good to see you...my you look wonderful...ah..."He hesitated for a few seconds then pushed the flowers toward her sheepishly. "Pretty flowers will complement the pretty lady quite well, eh? Can I order you a drink, my dear?"

The mouse blinked, surprised, as Cauter came up. She smiled, greeting him back,"You, too, M. Cauter."
She stared at the bouquet for a few moments, before gently taking the flowers from his hand. She didn't know what to say, except the conventional,"Thank you."
He'd probably meant the flowers to be a sweet gesture, and she appreciated his effort. The mouse lifted the flowers to her muzzle, and took a slow, careful breath, drinking in the scent. And trying not to be sick.
"I-Yes, please, I'd like a drink."she covered, as neatly as she could, waiting impatiently for him to leave. She needed the time to regain her composure. She took a quick breath to clear her sinuses, trying to decide how to open the subject, and cast about for a seat. Two. Surely Cauter could use a seat too.
But the equine biped returned before she could find a empty corner that would seat two, and she hastened to ask about the flowers, before realizing: She should have let him put the drinks down first.

Cauter grabbed up two drinks from the bartender; a Villa bubbly and a Highland Beer. He loved Highland beer...and wanted a treat, as for his lovely lady friend...well, he'd heard good things about this drink.
As he headed back over toward Souris, he spotted two people leaving a table and motioned her over to it with a grin.
"So, what can I help you with, I hear you're looking for some more information, glad you think I'm a reliable source."
He laughed to cover his nervousness and set the drinks down, pushing hers toward her. He couldn't help but steal glances at her every so often, though he tried to concentrate on his beer.
She was so beautiful...
"How have you been, my dear?"

(OOC: Inviting Vyn to lurk, and, later, join in.)
Souris, smirking slightly, moved over to join him.
She shouldn't have worried. The equine biped could take care of himself, and her too. She slid onto the stool with practiced ease, smiling, as he immediately steered the conversation around to business.
She waited until he'd set the drinks upon the table, taking the glass that he pushed towards her, lifting the glass gently to her muzzle, and lapping lightly. Mm. Intense, rich and full-bodied, the flavorful drink was unlike any she'd previously had. Flushed with delight, and drink, she raised her head a moment, long enough to lift the circlet into view.
Several intricately woven strands surrounded an intensely brilliant sapphire, tapering into an almost perfect circle that would fit her head perfectly, even more beautiful than she'd remembered, tempting her.
The item would compliment her well, she knew. But the circlet wasn't meant to belong to a Spade, her mother had made that very clear. She was merely the circlet's custodian, holding onto it for the next generation.

Cauter watched her take the drink and smile, he hoped she would like it, and took another sip of his own beer. He tried his hardest to stop his hooves from clacking on the floor under the table with his nerves, he didn't want to alert her to it...he'd rather that she didn't think him too forward.
She did seem to be taking to the drink, and he felt a small bit of the tension release slightly, good, good. Maybe this could turn ok after all.
"I'm not quite sure what it was you wanted to see me about this time, so I made sure to research a few people. I hope you'll find some of them interesting. I- What is that?"
The dingy bar light had suddenly fallen on the circlet as the Mouse tilted her head forward to drink.
Wow...it was beautiful...it complimented her so well...
"Souris, that's simplystunning!"

(This is beginning to feel like a real date. XD)
He hadn't known what she had wanted to see him about? She smiled, slightly, amused, as Cauter exclaimed over the circlet, thinking. That he'd come at all meant that he wanted to further their slight acquaintance, as she did. But she had to wonder at his motives. Was his interest purely libidinous? Or did he genuinely want to befriend her? Or use her? She didn't know. And she didn't want to find out.
Aloud she said,"You have some interesting friends", wanting to know more about the people he'd managed to come up with this time around. The circlet could wait, awhile. She lifted her glass to her muzzle again, enjoying the flavor with each lap, as she waited for him to elaborate.
Her previous audience with him had been a request, to be recommended someone, as she sought to establish her skill in poisons. He'd directed her to Marvin, and Lamya, and warned her against M. Todd, in the Lower Bazaar, whom she'd promptly gone to see, and in the process, had him grow fur up her tail.
She was curious to know who he'd come up with, this time around. And perhaps, in the meantime, Cauter would put two and two together, and figure out why she'd requested a meeting.

(It is isn't it? <3)
"Yeah, I suppose I do know a few oddballs." The Equine said with a grin, taking another swig of his drink.
He watched the pretty Mouse's face, her expression was so hard to read...he couldn't even begin to guess what it was she actually wanted. He could only assume that she wanted to know more about some of his friends...but that couldn't have been what she actually came out here for....he would have to wait and see...she must want something.
"We Corvies can be a little odd, did you hear that Midge blew up his lab?" He asked, referring to a yellow striped Canine Corvie who had recently blown his own lab sky high. "He was trying to create some sort of elixir that would change one's species...it didn't seem to work too well. Poor guy's staying with his mum now."
Her fur looked different too...he should comment on it...
"Your fur looks lovely...have you done anything to it?"
God he felt so awkward...he was glad his dark fur hid his blush.
((Vyn, feel free to meander in now XD))

Evidently not. She could enlighten him, but she was enjoying the conversation, didn't want to change the topic. She returned his grin, delighted, at the idea,"I'd dearly love to have seen that", tilting her face back, happiness lighting her face, at the thought.
She enjoyed sudden happenstance, completely random and unrelated, and the weird those caused. In fact, she herself had been the product of such a happenstance, neither sudden nor random. But that was neither here nor there. She caught herself abruptly, leaning down to lap at her drink some more, choking a little, as she caught his next words, her eyes dilating in excitement, "An elixir that would change one's species?" shocked and astonished at the same time. The possibilities that such an elixir would open...
Her face fell upon hearing that the canine hadn't succeeded. "The poor thing!" She said, with feeling, remembering Cauter's upset when she'd asked curiously if he'd had a lab. The news must have touched a chord with him. But, unlike him, that Corvie still had family he could stay with. Did that rankle? She buried her own concern and curiousity within that single statement, and let the questions go.
She didn't want to ask again. He saved the silence from awkardness, turning the conversation to her fur, and she accepted the random change in topic as a graceful, if unintentional out, smiling. "Thank you," swallowing the words, which were on the tip of her tongue. Okay, not such a graceful out. She couldn't exactly confess that she'd deliberately gone to a Card whom he'd taken the trouble to advise her to avoid, and obtained a stylistic adjustment, could she? "I'm glad you like it." She let the conversation stall there, quite unable to find anything else to say.
(Yes, Vyn, now would be good. X3)

Anatolius was drunk, of this Acheron was sure. If it wasn't all the drinks he had seen the wolf knock back, he was sure due to the smell of his breath. It didn't discust Acheron, not at all, but the normally quiet and withdrawn antelope was a little embarrassed by how loud his companion was being. His friend was currently trying to get him to get really tanked with him, and Acheron could only smile as he shook his head shyly in protest. Anatolius would win out eventually, he was sure. Anatolius seemed to have a magical effect on Acheron, in that he could make him do anything he wanted by simply asking more then once or twice. Acheron wasn't much of a drinker...but anything to make Anatolius happy. Acheron leaned against the brightly flame colored wolf, his tail wiggling quickly. He always enjoyed the affection, even if Anatolius was a little tipsy. They had decided to spend the day together since Anatolius had managed to get a day off from Roxanne, and Acheron was glad. While the two lived together, the days that Anatolius was working he didn't see very much of him, wishing to stay out of his way, and calm his simmering jealousy. But today was all about them, even if the spots they hit up were not particularly his cup of tea, he was happy to be there as long as he could be by An. "Sure." he said simply, licking Anatolius' nose once in responce to the suggestive idea of going home soon. Ah yes, for all it's strangeness and awkward moments, today had turned out to be wonderful. "And well, I suppose I could have a drink or two." he said with a bit of a smile, already his will breaking to Anatolius' wishes. Acheron didn't really pay attention to anyone in the bar, since he didn't really know anyone. Even if he did, he doubted he would pay them much attention while Anatolius was around.
