" Uh, w-we're here." The rather meek, though louder than normal conversational volume, voice barely penetrated the thick haze of sleep the Porcupine had been in, but the incessant poking with a purple paw caused him to stretch lazily and reveal foggy golden eyes. They first fell on the Torquehelm driver of the carriage he's been travelling in, and he smiled, wondering if...and then they caught what was behind the man, and with a surprising amount of energy, the Lakelander surged to his feet. " We're here!" he cried joyfully, practically leaping out of the open door, making the driver duck to avoid being hit by the spiked tail. " Thanks a million for the ride, dude!" The driver simply sighed, as he'd been attempting to wake his passenger up for nearly ten minutes. But the Porcupine had paid up front and didn't skimp, so all in all, he'd had worse customers...though he could have done without the random flirting... Getting back into the front of the vehicle, he picked up the reigns of his Aces, glancing back to Felix one last time. " I'll be back for you in...a week, all right?" He left, then, not really expecting a response. Felix, for his part, was enjoying the feeling of sand beneath his paws as he romped closer toward the unmistakable sound of waves, beaming in near rapture. The sun warm on his fur, the smell of salt in the air, and the promise of tropical drinks (and maybe a couple Midori Fingers) making just about the happiest Card on four legs. Truly, this must be paradise, and he had at last found it!

Goodness, the market was busy today! With the sudden onslaught of tourism the business was absolutely booming. Squeezing in around a Morganberry tourist and a local, the only reason she managed to get between them was when they took a glance at her human form and the rank on her chest. Honestly, how long did it take to order produce? Well, obviously forever because it looked like the Morganberry was trying to haggle down to a ridiculous price. Damned Morganberries. Hastily paying for her potatoes and giving the vendor a sympathetic glance, she wiggled her bum and pulled backward to extricate herself from the crowd. Wait.. why did her rear hurt? "AIIE!" Goodness, she must have leapt three feet in the air! Something SHARP had stabbed her right in the tush. Like.. like needles! Had someone cast some malicious spell on her? Was voodoo involved??

Felix milled with a sort of happy obliviousness through the crowds of people, drinking in the sights and sounds and smells of this new place. His unhurried, waddling gait made sure that most people had plenty of time to see him coming and get out of the way before they got poked accidentally. This was what the Porcupine was used to...well, truth be told, he was used to being places where if the other Cards didn't know him, they were used to even stranger things than a walking pincushion. Yep, he'd seen his share of odd things in the Capital City...but that was far from his mind as he paused to look eagerly toward a vendor selling something that smelled really good.
He was about to ask what it was and how much it cost when he felt a light pressure on his side, like someone had bumped into him. But no, if that were the case, surely--? And there was the scream. Felix winced, calm expression turning a bit worried.
"Uh, real sorry about that, I was born with em, y'know? And I--" The Porcupine stopped dead, finally having turned enough to see who he had managed to unintentionally skewer. He'd never seen such an odd-looking Human, was his first thought, but this one was unfortunately and immediately followed by the thought that he'd never seen such a -hot- Human in his life. For several moments he could only stare stupidly, golden eyes wide.
Shaking his head, a little dazed, he moved slowly to look up at her, and tried to keep his eyes on her face... "Miss? Miss, I am sorry, if there's anything I can do, y'know, to make it up to you..." Unbidden, his mind came up with plenty of images of things he could do for her, and a light blush colored his face beneath his pale fur.

It must have been quite a sight; a human Queen of Clubs holding a sack of potatoes in one hand, and rubbing her sore tush with the other. It wasn't like she'd never been poked from behind before.. but this wasn't exactly how it happened last time!
What a dirty thought. Even as she checked for bleeding, she couldn't help but find humor in that thought. Turning around, Zuberi looked to face her attacker.
Now then! She hadn't expected to see a porcupine. It all made sense at least.. and that lingering gaze that seemed in conflict at whether to look at her face or her cleavage told that this wasn't exactly a malicious individual.
"I've never been poked by a porcupine before!" She proclaimed slightly louder than she'd wanted. There were audible snickers around her that caused her flash to suddenly flush. Oh well, an old gal like herself wouldn't get too wound up over a little sexual innuendo! Saviing face, Zuberi gave a sheepish grin and shrugged.
"Ah-ne. I t'ink I'm fine. I see a lot of Selkie coming in from the Lakes, but I have to say I've never seen ya face around these parts."

Felix grinned at her, shrugging slightly, glad to see that this pretty woman wasn't upset. His eyebrows went up at her comment, the innuendo obvious enough even the somewhat simple-minded Selkie could catch it, whether intended or not. "Well, they say there's a first time for everything," he said cheerily, quilled tail wagging a bit. He couldn't seem to draw his eyes away from her...even with all his trips to the Capital, he couldn't help thinking he'd never seen anyone quite like her before! When one of his errant glances toward her chest revealed her Rank, he thought that might be why. After all, the places he frequented weren't exactly high class.
"I've never been here before," Felix said, ears perking forward. "I wish I'd come sooner, though! This place is awesome! I've always been a big fan of your exports, anyway." Let her make of that what she would; he had nothing to be ashamed of. "I'm Felix, by the way. Just another clueless tourist, trying to find his groove." He hoped she'd find him interesting enough to offer her name in return. Dinner was most likely out of the question, even if that wasn't getting a bit ahead of himself, but Felix was all right with that. Not much ruffled the rather carefree Porcupine.

Zuberi's cheerful expression turned into mild worry as his tail began to sway every which way. She'd gotten the tail end from it already and didn't want a prickly crisis on her hands. "Woah, hey there buddy, ye packin' a lot of punch back there" She said with a small laugh, waving an apology to an innocent bystander that had to give the swinging appendage a wide berth.
Sure, he found his groove. The slim groove of her behind! She had to fight off the grimace that threatened to grace her features. All booty jokes serving as a post filler aside... "Well, there's a reason the Midori generally don't move away from home. The name is Zuberi. And I'm.. just another Midori lady doin' me part and contributing to the local economy. Dat's a long winded way of saying I'm out shoppin', by the way." the human woman grinned, giving the Selkie a good natured wink.

Felix tilted his head, blinking in confusion...then followed the woman's gaze to his tail. "Ah! I didn't even notice." Somewhat sheepishly, he stilled the motion, letting the appendage fall to the ground with a light thunk. Maybe they should move somewhere a little less...crowded than the market square, so that the chances of his quills catching someone (again) would be diminished.
He moved a bit closer to Zuberi, and grinned up at her when she spoke. He already liked her. She was hot, she had a casual, friendly way of talking...and she wasn't even mad at him for poking her! "Oh, right!" He nodded at the sack of potatoes. "Hence the bag, I guess. Do you recommend anything? I could go for some food, too. Preferably nothing I really need to cook."
Yep. He was lazy. The way he saw it, why do work you didn't have to? All it did was add stress to life, and his policy was to live a stress free, fun life while he could. "Believe it or not, this is the first time I've ever been anywhere but the City or the Lakes. It's nice at the lakes and all, but it's even nicer here, from what I can see so far. More sun, more sand, more waves...more pleasant company." He returned her wink, flirting just a little. Of course, 'subtle' wasn't really a term in Felix's vocabulary.

"Oh! Well, I certainly would'na be so rude as to disagree wit' ya!" Zuberi proclaimed, catching on immediately to his cute little flirt. Why was it that she was so popular with the Selkies? She'd probably never really know, but while in her earlier years she'd been quick to turn a man down, she was an older woman being hit on by a strapping young man! That had to be some testament to her attractiveness.. or to at least her magical appeal. Whatever the case, it was nice for an older woman to feel beautiful from time to time.
"Well, ya be quite in luck, m'friend. This village has some o' the finest eats ye can find along de shore! None o' dat gimmick ya get in the larger port cities. I could show ya a fine place iffen ya was interested. Mebbe we could grab a bite ta eat." In reality, Zuberi wondered if she should be extending the invitation but.. to hell with it! Even a middle-aged mother was allowed to have a little fun from time to time; and she had what many women didn't; magical hypnotic boobs of awesome!
((I apologize for this silly and completely unserious post XD))

Felix grinned up at her, quite pleased with the response. It was fun to flirt, and Felix knew there were some Cards that weren't too impressed with how forward he could be, and the fact he wasn't the most articulate guy around. He just learned to let everything roll off his back. Less stress that way. But he wouldn't deny it was more fun when his actions were returned in kind.
Felix's eyes widened slightly at that description, mouth already watering in anticipation. "Now that sounds like a good idea if I ever heard one. I promise I won't sit -too- close...don't want you to get poked again!" He winked, moving a paw to smooth his quills down a bit more. Felix was, at heart, a somewhat vain creature who put quite a bit of stock in his own good looks. But for all that, he was also a simple man who enjoyed simple pleasures...a good drink, a good high, and good company for the night was all he could ever really need. If the good company happened to have hypnotic boobs, well, so very much the better.

Zuberi let out a delighted laugh, half covering her face with a webbed hand in mock demureness at the porcupine's innuendo. "Ah goodness, moon! You know how to make a lady blush!" She'd done well not to mention she was an old lady… but really, did he even have to know? With all the magical things that had happened to her over the course of her life, she doubted that she truly looked over thirty. Hm… yeah. She was feeling like a cougar right about now.
She stood up a little straighter, hand on her hip and a smirk on her face. "Well then, shall we be off? There be a good place for some chow just down the way." She gestured with her good hand down the marketway, where an almost side-street style diner was set up with tables made from driftwood before moving that way, gesturing for the Selkie to follow.
((Gah. Late post is late))
