The man watched with mild amusement as Hadrian struggled. It was always fun to watch how confused people became when he used that ability. He didn't stop watching until the Jack finally nodded.
All right. He didn't believe him, but he was fairly certain the boy wouldn't do anything too stupid now that he knew Sage's father was more than happy to make someone suffer. Kazifel hummed happily as he walked back over to his seat and went to sipping his tea as if all was right in the world.
Sage finally came back with a large tray filled with various cakes. "Sorry, I had trouble finding them. You switched all the pantries around, Daddy."
"Things have to change sometimes," Kazifel said with a small shrug. "But anyway, I think you and your boyfriend should stay for lunch. You came all this way and I think you should have a little food before you go."
Sage carefully put the tray on the coffee table, she picked up a cake as she sat down besides Hadrian. She glanced over at him with a frown. What had Daddy done while she was gone? " That might be nice Daddy. Uh...Hadrian are you all right?"

Hadrian tail began to thump against the couch back when the song-like voice of Sage came back into the room. Normally Hadrian hated traveling any lengthy distance if he wasn't going to stay for long enough to make the travel worth it, but at this point he felt that even staying for lunch was too long. His hand twitched when she sat down. He very much wanted to wrap himself around her and give her a kiss, but he felt it was very inappropriate at the moment.
"I'm fine," he smiled and said as carefully as he could.

Sage stared at Hadrian for a few moments, her eyes narrowing. She shifted to look at her father, "Daddy... what did you do?"
Kazifel looked shocked for a moment. He took another sip of tea before answering his daughter. "I just had a nice talk with him, and showed him I was serious. I didn't do anything to hurt him sweetheart."
The woman made a huffing sound as she crossed her arms. Really? He just had to be so unreasonable. He wouldn't treat Rosemary or Thyme like this. Only her. Why was she so special? He must have used that nasty spell of his... he used it on that customer once. And then there was that other one. At least, it seemed that he was nice enough not to use that. "I guess we have to stay until the spell wears off," she turned back to Hadiran, lacing her arms around him and pulling him into a hug. "I'm sorry."
Kazifel sipped his tea glaring daggers at the man his daughter was hugging, "It should wear off in two hours."

Two hours. He could do this. He could stay here for that long. He hoped Sage would be buy his side the whole time. It would be much more bearable. His mouth twitched into a nervous smile which promptly faded when he caught the sight of Kazifel's expression.
Two hours.
"It's alright, ba--Sage. I'm not hurt." He brushed a piece of hair out of her face when they separated. She was worth it. Especially if he didn't ever have to see her father again. With this little stunt, that was even more of a possibility. Not a total loss.
Then came some awkward silence. What do you say to a guy who not only threatened your life, but your manhood? Hadrian just smiled and went back to his tea, unable to feel the heat over his wound or taste it.

It was probably the longest two hours that Sage had ever experienced. And her father seemed rather twitch as well, but as long as she was in the room he behaved. She had no intention of leaving Hadrian alone with him again, considering Daddy could do something rather nasty.
But he offered them lunch and they were able to leave without another incident. Sage was only slightly disappointed about not being able to see her mother. But then again she was sure Hadrian thought her family was weird enough, her doll loving mother would leave no doubts.
"I'm sorry about that, Hadrian," she said as they were making their way towards the rather invisible path to the outside world. "I honestly didn't think my Daddy would do something like that to you. But I guess he's just a little more over protective than I thought."

Hadrian winced and sucked on his tongue to ease the pain. He wasn't aware that he'd bitten his own damned tongue. No wonder that bastard was smirking the entire time he'd been drinking his tea... and added sugar to it. It was very, very annoying. He smiled and wrapped an arm around her waist.
"Don't feel too badly. I feel pretty protective of you, and I'm not even your dad," he gave her a small peck on the cheek. "If you don't mind, I'll be kind of quiet for a while..." He stuck his tongue out and pointed.
[Alrighty then. Close this up?]
