[[Only female characters, please, preferably one that won't freak/gross her out XD]] Elodie had managed to find a cafe that was clean and served halfway decent food. Que bien! It was possible! Perhaps this filthridden, downtrodden upon city wasn't so bad afterall, but the feline really prefered making judgement as soon as possible. That way, she could whine for more money sooner. It worked out better that way. The yarrow was sitting at a secluded table, eating her second course, when the waitress (she'd specifically requested a female waitress--how disgusting, they hired males! did they want no business?) came back to take her soup bowl.. and proceded to trip. The bowl went flying and landed on some passerby's head, and Elodie could only stare as half a bowl of clam chowder went dripping down their head. Immediately she had to cover her mouth to stop snickering, but she managed to stop and offered her napkin to them. "You're dripping," She said, not at all loftily.

Dilis had finally found a moment to herself; having Father around was nice sometimes but once in awhile she liked to have some peace. She crept out and found herself at a little restaurant. She figured she would get some food and bring back the rest for later; Father would never have to know. She was just about to sit down when the unthinkable happened... the woman from the table next to her's soup went flying and landed deftly right on Dilis' head. She was horrified. She mustered her dignity and immediately set the bowl down on the table and proceeded to wipe off the soup with the napkin offered by the feline. " Yes, it would appear I am. Thank you for the napkin, that was quite an event" she said trying to smile. It was not such a terrible thing but it was pretty embarrassing a thing to happen.

Lani sat a few tables away, happily devouring a plate of barbecued ribs and licking carefully at her fingers. She didn't want to get any of the messy sauce on her clothes. That, more than anything, would have made her pitch a bitch fit. The white highland fur would stain lightly until she could wash it properly in the restroom, but it was nothing compared to the satisfaction of being able to chow down on a plate of juicy, meaty, saucy ribs. At least her coat and boa were resting beside her on the table's spare chair. Having snagged one of the smallest tables available, it still left her with a convenient place to keep her pretty things away from the sauce. Her crimson dress she didn't have to worry about so much, but she still tried to eat 'neatly'. If that was even possible with ribs. The gasps of a few nearby people cued her to raise her head in time to see the bowl of soup hit the Avington feline smack on the head. Oh, damn! And the woman looked to be taking it with more than her fair share of grace, too. Lani would have started screaming bloody murder, so she had to give the feline points for aplomb. At least she hadn't been wearing any clothes, just a string of rather gorgeous pearls that the Queen of Hearts took a moment to envy. Those were fine specimens. Her eyes flicked down to the woman's rank, since she looked well-to-do besides the clam chowder dripping from her fur. A Jack, not bad, even if she was a Club. And the Yarrow who handed her a napkin was wearing some lovely jewelry too! Lani preferred gold to silver and green didn't look as good on her as other colors, but she could fully appreciate their appeal on the feline. Nice, very nice. She'd paused in her devouring of lunch to admire the adornments on the other two women. If there was one thing that could catch her attention quickly, it was clothes, jewelry, or anything along those lines. Accessories were just wonderful things. Seeing the other two dolled up, it made her wish she'd brought the tiara her uncle had given her for her eighteenth birthday. It was a bit 'much' for normal walkabouts, but gold and diamonds just looked good on her. Maybe next time...

Elodie merely stared openly at her as the feline made an attempt to clean herself up with just the napkin. Where was the fit? Wasn't she even going to protest that this was a filthy establishment that hired horrible, lazy, unobservant waiters that spilled things on people?
Well.
If she wouldn't do it herself, Elodie would just have to do it for her. It was the polite thing to do, wasn't it, to help others out?
"YOU." She snapped loudly at the waitress, and had the satisfaction of seeing the woman's head flip up in horror. "What's wrong with you, spilling food on this poor woman? You offer her no assistance but immediately go to clean up the mess, nevermind that this lovely woman is dripping, her coat is sodden, and all she has is the pathetic napkins this place offers to clean herself up. She's going to ruin those beautiful pearls! For the love of Queens, woman, stop staring at me and go get her some cloths to clean up with! And if you're not back in two fucking seconds, I will screech until I get a manager!" Elodie's rant never managed to reach any high-pitched levels, but did get progressively louder, and she smirked triumphantly as the poor waitress scrambled away hastily.
"There now," She said, and went back to eyeing Dilis with a raised eyebrow. "You should've done that yourself, but no mind. She'll be back soon, you can clean up and not look quite like.. well, a drowned kitten." The cat's tone was almost pitying, but had just enough condescending in it to rule out any actual, real sympathy for the woman. She had absolutely no regard for Dilis' rank or the fact that it was several above her own, but was merely wondering if she ever went to any sort of spa, manicure or pedicure service.. poor thing, must be poor with those paws.
Elodie had noticed Lani in passing, but failed to pay any attention other than to blatantly oogle her dress--gorgeous material, that was, obviously someone knew what she was buying.

Dilis took a moment to look around to see how many people were staring. One such woman caught her eye. She seemed to be a beautiful young highlander with a gorgeous white coat and red dress, Dilis was envious. She did not act the type, but she really did love clothes. It made her happy when she had gotten her yellow sun dress. It was just like the one her mother had worn when she was a child.
Well this Yarrow woman sure had an attitude, that was alright though because at least Dilis was taken care of now. Crisis Averted. She would have to remember though to speak with her Father. He had a rather high standing with the owner. "Yes well, thank you for intervening regardless. I try not to make scenes if I can. Father says there is a poor taste that goes along with that" she said and sat back down to eat the food the new waitress had brought to her... free of charge.
It would seem the owner had indeed heard and he felt just terrible. Her meal was comped and she could have whatever she wanted. She decided simply on Haddock and mashed potatoes. It was what Father would call a "poor persons meal" but she liked it and Father was not there so really it did not matter. She just had to get through her meal and she could pamper herself, she had been looking forward to it all day anyway.

Lani slowly munched on a rib as the Yarrow cat reamed out the staff and got the poor Avington the attention she deserved. There was the hissycow she would have thrown. She had just about finished her plate by then anyway, so she figured she may as well go over and congratulate the woman on a fit well thrown. Someone who could put that much 'demand' into her tone would probably be someone worth meeting, and she'd never had any problem with Yarrows. Apparently one of her great-grandparents had been a Yarrow, though of course she'd never met the woman. Yarrow viper or somesuch, the King of Hearts in her day.
Checking to make sure that her fingers were as clean as they were going to get, she left money on the table and threw on her coat and boa, then sauntered over to sit across from the fluffy feline. Along the way, she passed Dilis's table and gave her a sympathetic smile. "Meal and a show, huh? At least your pretty necklace wasn't hurt. Gorgeous pearls."
She coughed to catch Elodie's attention once she reached her table, then made a polite gesture with her hand and slid into the seat opposite. Her dress was hanging so that her red 'Q' was clearly visible. She couldn't help a pleased grin when she saw that Elodie was also a Heart, if only a Seven. "May I just say, miss, that you have quite the way with words?"

Elodie rolled her eyes at the woman while she was looking away. Making scenes was in poor taste? No, making scenes got you what you wanted, and was to be used to your advantage. If this woman made scenes in poor taste, then she wasn't very good at it, because Elodie's scenes were always excellent. "You got free food, didn't you?" She asked loftily, then let out a gusty sigh from being unappreciated and turned back around.
Much to her interest, the gorgeous Highlander was in front of her. It was too bad she wasn't a Yarrow, but.. was that a Q she saw? Indeed. Queen of Hearts. That made up for the lack of a pretty coat like hers, and it wasn't her fault her parents weren't Yarrow, afterall. It was just a pity. "Why, thank you," She replied with a quirked eyebrow. "I try." She stated dryly, then motioned to Lani's coat. "That coat is marvelous. Wherever did you find it?"

((This was more of a relaxation moment for Dilis, so that is her cue to go. Thanks for the RP guys )) " Yes. yes I did and I never would have had you not helped me in that way. Thank you" she said sweetly though it seemed it fell on deaf ears as the beautiful Highlander was starting to walk over. Dilis was happily munching when the woman with the beautiful dress walked by. She smiled gently and said thank you as she passed. Now there was someone with manners, although it did not surprise her to get such a reaction from a Yarrow. She remembered her last encounter with a Yarrow and how she had gotten the same kind of attitude. At least this one had done something nice for her, she really did appreciate it... she just was not the type to have done the same thing. She finished eating and stood up gingerly from her chair, wiping any crumbs away and walked back toward the manager. " I just wanted to say thank you again for your kindness and also to please let the Yarrow woman know that her meal will be paid for in full once she is finished on my tab." At this she handed him some money taking in account that she may want other things and hugged him. " Will I be seeing you for tea later?" " Well of course, Miss Dilis. I was worried after this that you would not want my company." The little canary smiled. " No no, Mr. Maggiori, I would be honored; you were a very good friend to my mother and there is still nothing I could do to repay you. I will be expecting you at 1:30 sharp. Have a lovely morning." She had many things to do before tea time, so she hurried onto the street and looked for a carriage.

Both of Lani's hands smoothed down the fur at her collar, reveling in the fluffy, feathery sensation. Her bright gold boa had settled across her back and in the crook of both elbows, where she preferred it to sit. "Why thank you," she said with a smirk. Anyone who started off a conversation by complimenting her wardrobe won immediate brownie points. "Actually, there's an absolute gem of a tailor only about five blocks from here who made this coat for me. He rarely takes on clients because the ones he already has tend to be both demanding and wealthy as sin, but I was recommended to him by a regular and he concocted this fabulous piece for me."
Dymphna had only been more than happy to contact him and let him know that one of the untitled Queens at the palace, the daughter of the then-current Queen of Hearts, was interested in his work. The man couldn't ask for better advertising than a pair of clotheshorses in the palace.
She fluffed her wings and settled more comfortably in the chair, sensing a potential kindred spirit. "My name's Lani, if you'd like. And now you've got to tell me where you got those gorgeous pieces you're wearing. The colors are all wrong for me, but they look fantastic on you." She wasn't at all against boosting another's ego, so long as her own had already been fluffed... and besides, the green really did look great with the Yarrow's colors.

"You're quite welcome," Elodie replied with a lazy smile. It wasn't often that she got to cozy up with a Queen, though she'd certainly met her fair share thanks to her parents lovely business relations. It had been several years, at least, especially with her moving out lately - being outside of family affairs tended to loosen your contact circle. "Is there now?" She asked, genuinely interested. El was still shipping most of her clothing in from Yarrow, and while it guaranteed quality and taste, she did occasionally lust for something new and different. "You'll have to give me his name, then. I'm afraid most of my garments come from outlying regions, and it takes so dreadfully long for them to get here.." She dropped off, then shrugged lightly and smiled. It didn't even occur to Elodie that he would refuse her as a client. She was wealthy as sin, to use Lani's words, and demanding as well - not to mention particularly stunning. Why wouldn't he take her?
As Lani fluffed herself, Elodie artfully arranged her tail so it curled gracefully around her side and around to cover her paws. Some days the cat enjoyed going without trinkets just to show off that her body was far more gorgeous than most's on it's own - but those days were few and far between, because she was thoroughly addicted to her shinies. "Elodie," She supplied, with an air of one who knows their name is highly sophisticated. "Oh, these?" She asked, and raised a paw so her rings and bracelets glittered in the light. "They're a set, one-of-a-kind. My mothers had them hand-crafted for my birthday by a professional hobbyist jeweler from the Villa.. he was technically retired, as he prefers music to jewelry, but my parents are such long-standing clients that he agreed to make them for us. Aren't they darling?" She tilted her paw a few more times, for the glint effect, then set it back down. "You could pull off green, if it was a deep emerald, but the ruby looks fabulous on you regardless."
