The mannerisms of the other woman were incredibly fun, and in their own way quite a challenge. She didn't often have to out-glam other women, especially at the palace, because many of them had gotten tired of it. She usually preferred hanging out with men anyway, so it worked just fine. Sometimes it could be incredibly fun to engage in a little female chit-chat, though, and she usually went to Dymphna for that.
"Lawlee's his name," she dropped casually, her own feather-lined tail twitching back and forth in an aborted wag where it lay next to her. "If you ever go to look for him, he's in a red brick three-story townhouse with some cute little petunias out front. He has a weakness for the things. Expect to have to use a bit of persuasion if you want him to make you something, though. He's half-retired and picky, even if he is a sweet man."
She admired the sparkle and gleam of the rings as Elodie showed them off. They really were the work of a master. "All of your glittery jewelry makes me wish I'd worn some of my own today, but I hadn't wanted to get them messy and I knew I would be eating saucy food. Gold and diamonds look even better than rubies, you know," she said with a smirk.

[ OOC: I couldn't resist; I had to add Souris to the mix. ] Souris gingerly picked her way through the ebb and flow, carefully avoiding the crash of people, as she entered the cafe, tension unwinding as the tide withdrew, and she could breathe more freely. The reasonably clean establishment had earned her grudging appreciation, as M. Svend didn't serve the inedible swill that frequently passed as food to the masses, and, approached with a moderate tone, treated her with the appropriate respect. Her acquiantance with M. Svend, and the subsequent introduction and acquaintance with M. Maggiori, had lent her some standing, although not as much as she would like. Fortunately, she had the bella figura, which combined with a good first impression, would allow her to attain a higher standing, if she treated him properly, and with respect. She did pause, however, at the sight of an Avington feline leaving. Were she not biped, the mouse would have been fairly certain that was Dilis. She shrugged, and heading for the secluded table she usually took, only to find another Yarrow seated there, with a winged Highlander. Disgruntled at being ousted from her usual table, she was just about to protest, when she looked closer, thinking that the feline looked familiar. In fact, she resembled Elodie. She blinked, bemused, as she belatedly realized that that was the Seven of Hearts next to her usual chair, which the canine Highlander was currently ensconced in.

"I'll definitely drop in on him," Elodie replied, then tilted her head to listen. "Pentunias? How.. quaint," She drawled, the shrugged. As long as he made darling clothing, she could deal with some peasant flowers out front for the duration she was there. It wasn't as if they weren't all over this dratted city anyways. "Oh, no worries - I have many tools of persuasion at my fingertips," She said in a purposefully vague manner. There was no need to outright point out her parents just yet.
Afterall, this delightful woman was a Queen, so she would have to hold some of her stops for later.
"It wouldn't do to ruin perfectly good diamonds with sauce, of course not." Elodie couldn't help but lift an eyebrow in wonder - she ate saucy foods? A daring woman indeed, to risk her dignity and coat all at once. "But I agree, I imagine gold looks simply ravishing on you."
The feline nearly made another comment about gold when a tiny mouse poked her head partially into their conversation. Elodie's brow furrowed prettily and she nearly threw a fit about having a private conversation and how dare she interrupt? before she realised that she actually knew said tiny mouse. "Souris! How lovely to see you! You simply must join us." She stated, then immediately introduced her to the Highlander, not giving either of them an option to protest. "Lani, this is Souris, an angel from the Gardens. Souris, this is Lani, the wonderful woman I just met." Elodie didn't particularly love Souris the way she was expressing - the poor thing was a Spade - but she was Yarrow, and family was family, afterall. And who knew? She might have something Elodie would want later on.

Lani fiddled with a strand of hair on her finger, liking the mannerisms of the Yarrow feline. She hadn't dealt with that many from the region. Sure, she'd watched a few in bar fights when men had gotten a bit too bold and really enjoyed it, but who didn't enjoy watching a Yarrow girl get into a good brawl? They were a blast! That little verbal spat just now was no exception.
The little compliments didn't hurt, either. She grinned, a hint of sharp teeth flashing, and leaned back to recline against the back of her seat. The wings relaxed and spread out around her. "I like to think so," she agreed, referring to the gold. "Then again, really, what wouldn't. Besides something disgusting like slime green." She made a face.
A mouse suddenly appearing in their conversation surprised her and she shot the little thing an appraising glance. Pretty - very attractive Yarrow markings on this one, and such lovely ears - and something about her just seemed uttery charming. Not in the way of Diamond charm, no, that was just a warm sensation. Just something else. "A pleasure to meet you, I'm sure," she offered in reply to the greeting, smile pleasant. Were these two here deliberately? She could very well be interfering with someone's lunch plans. Huh. "Am I inadvertently taking your seat?"

Souris froze at the feline's furrowed brow, quite prepared to back off, when Elodie greeted her effusively. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt." she said, ducking her head uncertainly, as she hesitantly took up the generous invitation, and sat down in the indicated chair as Elodie introduced her companion, "Pleased to meet you, Lani", she replied, shyly, somewhat self-conscious, as she feared that she was plain in comparison to the company the winged canine was used to keeping.
"No, no, no, not at all," she protested, her earlier disgruntlement completely forgotten, as she warmed to Lani. She blinked at the female waitress who came up, wondering what had happened to the smoldering Morganberry who usually waited on her. Nevertheless, she ordered the lobster bisque, appreciating the fact for Elodie's sake. And the Morganberry's.
At least this way, she wouldn't need to hurt either person's feelings. She waited patiently while the waitress confirmed her order, and left, before resuming the conversation, racking her mind for something to say that wouldn't sound as though she was deliberately excluding either Elodie or Lani from the conversation, her gaze wondering aimlessly to Lani's clothes."Beautiful dress", she commented, appreciating the red slip, which emphasized the Highlander's mane.

((I'm sorry, but I must withdraw from this thread and probably request that it be ended or that Lani be 'called away' by someone/something. Seeing as... well. Yeah. xD <3))
