It was the middle of the night, but he was creeping through the halls anyhow. His ears were placed firmly against his skull, his fur was partially bristled and he wore a scowl upon his muzzle rather then his usual lopsided smirk. Saying that he had been pissy recently would have been a terrible understatement... he'd been downright wrathful but he'd been keeping to himself rather then lashing out at anything that breathed. The latter would have been far more fun but he really didn't want to, that required a lot more work and energy then just simply avoiding everyone as if they had the plague. The shock and utter sadness he'd felt after the ... recent events that had happened had melded together and formed into a rather nice ball of way to many mixed feelings to be healthy and weighed him down. This is what kept him in a constant state of utter annoyance, but it also drove him to do more productive things then he usually did. He actually paid attention to his lessons now, he was taking more interest in the rather obscure things his mother had been trying to get him into and the strangest thing of all? He was spending an unhealthy amount of time in the library doing his own brand of research rather then the myriad of pranks the room had been used for in the past. He was keeping himself busy but at the same time, and without his knowledge, he was acting more and more like a 'responsible' adult rather then an obnoxious child, something he'd always scoffed at the thought of. If he could just make it to the library without any... distractions, his night would be utterly perfect.

Saethre paced back in forth in front of her brother's room. He was holed up, again, presumably staring at the ceiling, sleeping fitfully, or numerous other brooding activities that worried her and her brothers immensely. Aphasia and Chiari, however, had the attention spans of, well, otters, and had already fallen asleep in the living room. Sae had almost done the same, draped over their warm bodies, but she'd heard something slam (presumably being thrown) against the wall and had been startled back into full conciousness. She could hear motion but wasn't about to go in--Vessatha had tried, and had literally gotten bitten. Quinn had just given them all a look and swept out of the room, though Sae had no doubt that she would be back later to try to calm him down. Saethre knew what happened. It was part of being the only feminine one out of four--she tended to sense more about her brothers than they sensed about each other. On top of it she'd been lazing about when he'd come back that night, and had wormed her way into his room and forced an explanation out of him while he had been too upset to hole himself up completely. She wanted some bloody guts on a plate, stir-fried with mashed potatoes. To be specific, weasely, rat-like guts with lowlander swirls. After about an hour of pacing in front of the door, the otter decided she needed to find something to occupy her mind, lest she go crazy with her brother. So she quietly left the suite and headed down to the library.. .. only to find herself behind the asshat himself. Her eyes narrowed, and she snuck up behind him, her mind already made up to start whatever kind of fight possible. (Having two decisive mothers made for decisive children.) She slunk next to him, subtley rubbing the length of her body against him.. and then kicked him with one of her hind legs and shoved her face in his. "You bloody fucking asshole!" She swore in his face, her expression in itself saying she wasn't about to be her happy, playful self.

One of his ears twitched a bit, he thought he heard something but it was minute and he really didn't want to bother with whoever the sound belonged to, that was if he wasn't just hearing things. However he couldn't ignore the feeling of another body rubbing against his and the rest of his fur bristled instantly. That was, actually, immensely creepy, but he didn't have time to really dwell on it because a moment later he was kicked. He turned his head, lips pulled back tightly to fully expose his fangs only to receive an insult yelled at him.
Of all the cards he didn't want to run into, she was second on his list. First, of course, was Mia himself, but Saethre was right up there. He'd never held any fondness for the otter beyond the fact that she was a certain ferret's sister. However, with her yelling in his face, his present mood and thoroughly frustrating relationship he presently had with her one brother... that small fact was completely disregarded.
Instantly he stiffened up and stood as tall he could, even stretching his neck a bit so he could properly loom over her. His tail stiffened and beat flickered violently, thudding lightly against the wall of the hallway in a warning that was characteristic to vermin. He was not in the mood to deal with her right now, and he certainly wasn't going to be able to keep his temper in check long either. And when he spoke, after a small pause, he all but spat in her face.
Piss off Saethre.

Saethre was more than satisfied when he shivered a bit at her rubbing. She wouldn't be almost-Tulgey if she wasn't creepy at least some of the time: she could be satisfied knowing she had done Quinn proud.
Mo stiffened, straightened, and generally did an intimidation act that didn't phase her in the slightest. Dysthymia was a shitload more scarrier than this guy--though, being a Queen, he probably had powers that could kick her ass.
Physically, though, she had him beat, in her mind. She was two years older than he, so was about the same size--being a girl sucked sometimes. Mia, no doubt, was bigger than he. Unfair.
"I'm not scared of you, you dumb weasel, and I'll piss off when you're sitting in a corner unconcious or crying." She growled back, her face contorted into a mask of rage.
Sae's temper was a well-disguised, well-hidden piece of arsenal that was difficult to find and difficult to put back once it was taken off.

He flexed and relaxed his claws a few times, digging into the floor of the hallway, as he willed himself not to leap at her. He was exercising an immense amount of self control at the moment, but he wasn't entirely sure how long he could keep this up. He certainly didn't need any fuel to his present fire, that was certain.
He took a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh, turning away from her. He wasn't afraid of her, he just didn't feel like using her as a punching bag... even if she deserved it. He would now try and ignore her entirely and reach his destination, more then ever he needed to get lost among the pages of some book or another. His fur, however, didn't lay flat, his ears remained back and his tail remained stiff as well. His cheek muscle twitched as they tensed as well, sweeping his whiskers forward. She really needed to go away, now.

Clearly, someone was a chickenshit. To Saethre, backing up meant he thought her unworthy, a lesser opponent.. or he was scared of her--unlikely. A Queen, scared of an eight? He'd have to be stupid.
Or maybe she was, for pushing this, but she wasn't about to let go.
"What are you, scared? Of an eight, a girl? You'd take Mia on, you big pussy!" She snarled at him, then had a sudden idea of what she could do to provoke him further. Saethre activated her strong ability to create a jug of water.. and magically dumped the entire thing over his head and cackled as the rivelets ran down his body.
Ahh, the satisfaction of the first move. "What'cha gonna do now, pussy foot?" She taunted, her front end moving down into a crouching position. Saethre knew she was at a huge disadvantage here--her best ability was water--but she had Spade speed, and more gumption than this pathetic fool.
It was kickass time, baby!

As she spoke he simply pinned his ears down as close to his skull as they could possibly get without actually melting into it. He also closed his eyes, he knew this hallway upside and backward and it was something that helped him ignore things like little girls who didn't know when to shut up and quit. Besides, she was completely wrong... he'd actually be less inclined to take on Mia at this point, the ferret could, possibly, convince him that he deserved it.
He was starting to think maybe she was going to leave him alone, well, until he had a gallon of water dumped over his head. He froze, mid-step and snarled at the empty expanse of hallway in front of him, eyes still closed. Sometime recently, through all his studies, practices and everything else good he'd been doing he'd stumbled upon an ability Mia didn't even know about and he didn't even have to turn around to use it either. His muscles tensed again but he still tried to fight the urge to rip her to pieces. Instead he focused on a vase he remembered being in the vicinity of the pesky otter, sitting on it's pedestal and serving as nothing more then a decoration that no one really noticed. Well, he'd turn it into a warning tonight.... at this point he didn't care if he woke anyone up either.
The only warning he gave was a twitch of his tail as the aforementioned vase cracked and shattered swiftly, the shards bursting forward with quite a bit of force and a rather loud noise as well, one that would certainly hurt the ears of anyone who heard it... except for him. He didn't even care when a few of those shards grazed his form and nicked his skin, he didn't even turn his head to see what kind of damage she'd taken either.
He was making one last attempt to make it to the library, if she persisted any more he would lose it entirely and his posture, and the still legged walk he'd adopted, would simply scream that fact.

Saethre smirked, her tail slowly swishing back and forth as she waited for any kind of reaction whatsoever. It was difficult to judge what was going on in his head just from seeing the backside of him--though it was very, very stiff and furry, so chances are was that she was pushing his boundaries greatly.
Good.
The asshole needed it.
Sae, however, was not expecting shards of vase to fly at her. Fur, fuzz, claws, perhaps, but not glass and plaster. The otter ducked, swearing, but braved the flying shards to reach out and grab one that had scattered near her. She examined it in her crouched position then slowly grinned as she realised just how sharp the edge of it was. "That... was a bad idea.." She stated slowly as she experimentally dragged the tip over the edge of her finger and stared avidly at the blood that pooled up in the cut.
"Oh yes," She breathed, her gaze entirely on the blood, "That.. was not smart." Her words ended with her abruptly looking up with a horrifyingly sadistic look, and she lunged forward with the shard carefully grasped in her paw, her intention to draw as much blood out of him as possible.
The only drawback to this plan was that Saethre had no clue of his powers as Mia did, and had no idea what to expect further.

He was in complete and total ignore mode right now and, while his mind had registered that she spoke, he didn't really pay attention to what she said of how she said it. She'd probably stew over it for a little while and then go back and go to sleep, whatever, he didn't care as long as she left him alone. He was only able to enjoy this thought for a small amount of time before a sudden, sharp and stinging pain centered near the base of his tail which actually made him jump and let out a rather unrestrained cry of pain. What the hell was that?!
His eyes opened wide and he flipped himself around, fangs bared and tail flipping about in agitation once more. He was greeted by the sight of that damned otter again, only this time she was holding a piece of the glass he'd used to try and frighten her off. He ... hadn't even thought of that, hadn't felt he'd needed to think his actions through that much in a very blatant underestimate of the girl's intelligence. This mistake was noted and he wouldn't so anything similar knowingly, but damnit she'd stabbed him and now she was going to pay for that! She actually.... stabbed him, the nerve!
His thoughts hadn't actually taken much time and he pushed himself forward using his hind limbs and retaliating with sharp teeth, he'd be happy to get a hold of anything really.... especially if it made her cry out.
He'd make her pay for that move, it still stung... actually it stung more then it had initially, and he was only somewhat aware of the blood that had seeped into his fur from it.... just from that one move he wanted to kill her right there in the hall. He wanted to rip her limb from limb and leave her bloody remains in a pile in the middle of the damned hallways and hope her mother was the one that stumbled over the scene...

Saethre let out a short laugh--essentially a cackle--when he cried out. Take that, bitch, that was for Mia! It was obvious that he was underestimating her, throwing her off as nothing to worry about, but she was out to prove him wrong.
Unfortunately, the otter was a bit too wrapped up in her own self-satisfaction to realise that he was retaliating, and her first instinct was to fling her arm up at him... and got bitten, rather hard. Saethre shrieked in pain, and immediately became rather annoyed. Biting? The weasel did have teeth!
Thankfully she'd never let go of the shard (not to mention there were tons all over the lfoor) so she shifted the position so it was slightly angled and dove at him, fullyh intending to make a deep scratch at all possible--but she would be satisfied with any kind of blood.
