Calia was anxious. She had never been to the courts before, and here she was, riding in a carraige to the Court of Diamonds. In her mind, the fact that Theofilus was running the place was only a slight comfort. She could see the marking on her chest, and in her mind, it was a torment. Her daughter's lover, the mother of her grandchildren... Was a Queen. And she was still just a 6, the same as she had always been. As soon as she stepped from the carraige, however, her fears began to settle. The attendants that rushed to her side were treating her with such respect! Well. She shouldn't have expected anything else, and it was with a happy smile that she entered the court, ready to spend the night with her love and the next morning with her daughter and, from what all reports had said, a pair of beautiful granddaughters. --- Word had travelled quickly through the courts. Calia had arrived the night before, as planned, and was expecting to meet her grandchildren that morning. Ceren had preened herself, making sure every feather was in alignment, and washed both of their daughters. As she looked over both of the children, she smiled. Her mother would be beyond proud, despite the little mix-realm girl's low ranking. She took care to comb both children's Selkie-feathering out, letting the beautiful hair shimmer delicately. The sparrow-cat chirruped in excitement at the soft touch, and Ceren leaned in, nuzzling her and making a silly face, chuckling as the infant let out a soft cry of joy. The children prepared, she rose, knocking on the door to Iria's chambers softly. " The girls are all set, my love..." ((I... really hope this post is ok XD It gave me TROUBLE.))

[ooc: Awww, poor Calia, all intimidated about going to the Court. *huggles her*] Iria wasn't nearly as nervous about this meeting as shi had been about meeting His Majesty Theofilus for the first time; for one thing, there was nowhere near as much importance placed upon this meeting, because the first impressions had already been set between hirself and the man who had become The Queen of Diamonds. For another thing, this was to be a meeting of family not for politics. This was to introduce their beautiful little girls to their grandparents, so that they could know all of their family. And for the last thing...this time Ceren was secure by hir side, and that was enough to give Iria all of the confidence that shi needed. Speaking of Ceren, her voice came clearly through the door into Iria's chambers, and shi eagerly turned and opened the door, a smile breaking over hir face at the mere sight of hir loved ones. These people were the ones that made everything bearable, and shi couldn't help but step forward and press a gentle kiss along Ceren's beak. The woman then gave hir dress one last pat-down to ensure it was clean, and then gathered Aliyah up in hir arms, the little Yarrow mix squeaking in surprise before resuming her usual broken, rumbling purr that meant she was safe and happy with her mothers. Her mother Ceren's attentions meant that her feathers - so very brightly colored in contrast to the rest of her - were smooth and tangle-free, and she didn't show any sign of getting uncoordinated young limbs caught up in them as seemed to happen so often. "It seems we're all ready to go, then. Let's bring our darling little ones to meet their grandparents, hm? For that matter, I can't wait to meet your mother; she must be an amazing woman, to have created someone like you," shi said happily, and it was odd how shi couldn't seem to keep from smiling nowadays. It wasn't even the usual serene smile that shi kept on hir face, but something that meant shi was really, truly happy. There was only one guess as to why that was - alright, three, because where would shi be without the children as well?

(( OOC: I am sorry if this sucks. Like geesh. )) Theofilus hummed as he walked down the hallways. He was a grandfather. It was an absolutely terrifying thing, but this love of children was enough to cover up any feelings of being old. Well, it almost did. He was still having issues with depth perception, and felt like an idiot when he accidentally tripped up the stairs or nicked a wall. Thank you battle to the death for that one. He turned around the corner to spot Calia. A smile slipped onto his face as he walked up behind her. "Calia, you have no idea how good it is to see you, and how much I missed you." He had a half a mind to wrap his arms around her and kiss her right there and then, but they were going to visit their granddaughters. It could wait a little while. "Are you as excited as me to be a grandparent?" He asked as he looked to the door of his daughter's and her Queen's chambers. His children were growing up and he had no idea where the time had gone.

Calia looked up as Theofilus approached her, her smile showing every little bit of the pleasure that she derived from being able to see him again. "I'll need to visit the courts more often from now on, won't I?" She replied, voice surprisingly light, almost carrying the teasing quality that she had so often used when they had first met. With all the pain that their family had gone through in the past, she was beyond pleased that something was going right. The grandchildren were here, and there were only more to come! At first, she had been afraid of the news, mourning what she had felt to be the loss of her youth.
"I am," she said, blushing slightly under her feathers. "It's been so quiet since the kids grew up and left, I wasn't really sure what to do with myself!" she gave a small laugh, turning to look at the door as well.
---
Ceren moved into the kiss, sighing softly at the softness of it and returning the affection with a nuzzle. The last few weeks, once they had adjusted to the initial shock of their children's birth, had been simply... Amazing. They had been filled with her brushing and combing long fur, but it didn't bother her in the slightest. The more time she spent with the children, the more she realized how lucky she was to have such a beautiful family.
"Honestly, she's one of the sweetest women I've ever met. She's ever so excited to meet you, my Queen." Ceren replied as she lifted Kaiesha into her arms, cradling the small Lakelander close and smiling as the child gave a small chirrup. "And I'm looking forward to seeing her again." With a small smile, she opened the door, stepping out into the hallway where Theofilus and Calia waited.

"She's your mother; of course she's wonderful!" Iria laughed, and then followed after Ceren as she stepped into the hallway. Theofilus was there, and shi instantly recognized him, even with the battle scars that he'd gained from fighting Cerevanna. Of course, it was hard to forget the tall, slim, blue-and-white form (especially when his coloring was so similar to Ceren's, and shi wondered what hir love would look like in a human form). The tall sparrow woman beside him stood out almost startlingly amongst the group of paler-colored Cards, the bright Kahmden red contrasting against Selkie blue and white, and Yarrow gold and purple. But still, Iria could easily see Ceren in her mother, despite the differing Regions.
Shi smiled warmly at both of them, and again it wasn't at all hir usual Court smile, but something real and honest. In hir arms, Aliyah squirmed a bit and mewed, golden eyes wide as she attempted to take in the sight of these new additions to her world. Iria curtseyed to Theofilus - despite the fact that this was a family connection, he was still The Queen - and nodded in greeting to Calia.
"It's so good to finally meet you," shi said to the older woman. "I'm Iria." Shi deliberately left off hir title, because in this sort of situation, who needed it? "This little one is Aliyah," shi added, lifting the kitten in hir arms so that the pair could see her better. The mark upon her chest was obvious, but Iria wasn't bothered by the low rank at all; it would just give her incentive to climb the ranks all the faster.

Theofilus sighed, "I don't know what to do with myself either. I'm so used to children running around I'm at a completely loss." There was a welcome change of focus when the ladies came out of their chambers. The sparrow smiled at the pair. His daughter was all grown up and having babies of her own. Oh sky above.
The curtsy was hardly necessary considering the circumstances, but Theofilus tipped his hat in response. He was just very happy that everything had gone well and that there were no complications. He smiled at the informal introduction. Well, this was going to be an interesting meeting wasn't it?
"Congratulations," was the first thing that Theofilus said before focusing on the children. They seemed perfectly healthy, which was another thing to add to the joyous list. So many things had gone wrong, it was nice to see that something had gone well for a change. Theofilus smiled at the adorable little feline, "Aliyah is a beautiful name. Seems more than perfect for her."
From the looks of it she was a Yarrow Lakes mix. He didn't even bat an eyelash at the rank. If the little girl would raise rank or not, it was up to her.

Calia watched the doors anxiously, feeling her heart flutter with a kind of excitement that she was unable to name. This meeting served a number of purposes, and only one of which was to meet her lovely granddaughters. The issue that was far more present in her mind and far more worrisome was the issue of meeting Ceren's lover, the Queen. What if Iria didn't like her? The sparrow was terrified of that thought, but as soon as she saw the two walk out of the door, her worries flittered away like so many butterflies.
She embraced her daughter, giving the woman a small kiss on the cheek. "Ceren. I've missed you so... And I'm so proud of you." she said, to which the other sparrow grinned with pleasure. Hearing those words from her mother meant the world to her.
"I've missed you too, mom, dad..." she replied, giving her father a somewhat crooked grin as she shuffled the slightly larger child to hold her better, letting her red marking be proudly displayed. Though she lived in the courts, it had been a long time since she had the opportunity to see her father for what he was, and not just as the Queen.
Calia gave Iria a deep curtsy, bowing her head as well out of respect for the woman. She was caught by surprise by the way that the Queen introduced hirself, and blinked, but was quick to recover. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you," she replied, giving the woman a warm smile. "I'm Calia..." she trailed off as her eyes fell upon the squirming kitten, shining with delight. She felt almost as though her heart would stop, the little girl was so perfect and beautiful. "M-may I hold her?" she asked, wonder in her voice.
Kaiesha chirped, squirming even more eagerly, and Ceren laughed. She felt so happy and silly! "This little one is Kaiesha, and I think she wants to meet you, dad." The kitten chirped again, blue eyes wide with wonder as she looked over the pair of them. New people were always so interesting!

[ooc: *runs past at high speed, dropping the post and zooming away before anyone can catch her*]
For a second, a small irrational part of the young Queen wanted to shriek, "No! She's mine! You can't have her!" about the little kitten in hir arms, but the rest of hir knew that, not only were the pair hir children's grandparents, but Ceren was right here, and shi knew that hir beloved would make sure that everything would work out alright. However, that little nervous part of hir was further assuaged at the delight that shi saw in the eyes of both the man and the woman in front of them, and so it was with only a little bit of difficulty that shi accepted Calia's request.
"Of course! Here you are," shi said, carefully handing over the kitten and making sure that the feathering on her legs didn't get caught anywhere. After a few seconds, shi glanced over at Ceren, and then at the pair in front of hir once more. "Would you like to go into my Courtyard? I've had lunch prepared for us there, and I'm sure that we would all be more comfortable where we can sit down and relax."
Alliyah squirmed in feathered arms and turned to look up at her grandmother with bright yellow eyes, chirping at the woman with curiosity, as only cheetahs could chirp. It wasn't quite a bird sound, though, but she was highly fascinated by this bright red thing.

Theofilus grinned. This was a fantastic experience, to say the least. His daughter had grown up and was having children of her own. And he was a Grandfather. That was still a terrifying thought.
"Well, I wouldn't want to disappoint little Kaiesha, then, would I," Theofilus said. If he could smile any wider he would have as he accepted the large bundle. A little Jack of Diamonds, a sparrow mix. The wings looked a bit small, he wondered how that would develop over time.
He raised an eyebrow at the question posed by Iria. He couldn't exactly refuse considering he was holding a baby, and Calia would probably be thrilled to sit down and have lunch with her daughter's lover. It had been a while since Theofilus felt so horribly outnumbered by women, and it wouldn't be the last. Either way he tickled the child under the chin before turning to Calia. "I set everything aside for this lovely meeting, but if you ladies want to talk in private I understand completely."

Calia's feathers fanned out in an expression of pleasure that Iria would recognize, having spent time with Ceren, and she graciously accepted the kitten into her arms. Blue eyes looked the child over, never once even hesitating over the red mark on her chest, instead taking in the whole of her beautiful granddaughter. She found herself using her fingers to absently comb out the child's long feathering, admiring all of its colors. "Miss Aliya, my darling, you are beautiful." The sparrow said in a soft voice, the one that she had used with her own children. "When you've grown, you'll have everyone who lays eyes on you stumbling over their own feet." In reply to the girl's chirp, she chirped as well, unable to keep quiet. Her granddaughter was perfect. "That would be wonderful, Iria, if I may call you that." Calia replied, eyes shining with joy.
Ceren took great pains to transfer the child into Theofilus's arms, making sure that her own feathering was free. The child was surprisingly sensitive to having the long hairs pulled. She looked up at her grandfather, chirping softly and squirming in his arms so that she could tug on his hair with her beak, carefully investigating his glasses. Once the child's father was satisfied that she was secure, she took a step back to Iria's side. She brushed her hand across that of the woman, giving her a small and reassuring smile.
"Dad! Of course we want you to join us." she said, laughing softly. Of couse he would feel nervous. Ceren knew that Yarrows women usually did. "These are your grandchildren, and we haven't been together as a family for a long time." Calia looked up once more from her doting on Aliyah, nodding at Theofilus.
