((ooc: I really want to play this character more. T^T)) It was raining. Cold, odd rain with a little bit of sleet mixed in, but rain none-the-less, a rarer thing in the mountains than Seena woudl have liked. Growing up in the Lakes had made her used to water, to love the feel of it over her fur, the delightful little shivers that set in when she was soaked, her fluff drooping soddenly in what she was sure wasn't a very attractive manner, which the other, adult Does had been quick to point out, but Seena ignored them. What use had she for a Jack that refused to let his Does have a little fun now and again? Setting down her latest book, a lovely find in the back of Rhodney's library, she hopped dreamily outside the Warren, standing just far enough from the entrance to be fully immersed in cold, wonderful water pouring from the sky, and closed her eyes, a content smile flickering over her face. Not caring anymore about bring dignified (she didn't see anyone around anyway) she bunny-flopped on the cold rock, stretching her legs out happily.

Huge storm clouds rolled in as Cornflower hopped outside to fetch some water from the nearby stream. She needed it if she was going to help prepare the stew for dinner that evening. Since the faucet already wasn't working, she didn't want anything else to go astray. As she neared her destination, big drops of water began to fall from the sky onto her fur. Soon she was soaking wet, and she shivered slightly as the rain turned to sleet. Having gotten what she needed, she quickly headed back towards the warren with the bucket full of water clutched in her teeth. It was only then she noticed that one of the Does was also outside. It was the Selkie, and she seemed to actually enjoy the pelting rain. Going against her better instinct, she slowly hopped closer to the Doe, hoping that she wouldn't startle her by suddenly being there.

Over the sound of pouring rain, Seena didn't hear the approach of the little Leveret, though one would be able to tell at a glance how relaxed she was, legs all splayed and stretched out, eyes closed, head tilted slightly upward, and ears drooping even further than normal with the weight of all the water. Thinking she heard something, one of her ears twitched, and a deep blue eye opened, then widened at the sight of someone else standing there.
Shuffling around a bit into a slightly more dignified position, Seena turned to the young Leveret. "Greetings," Seena said, sizing the other Rabbit up and trying to remember her name...usually she was better with names than this, but it was hard to adjust to a new place... "I'm sorry, I can't seem to recall your name," she continued pleasantly. It was then that she noticed the little thing shivering, and the heavy bucket clutched in her mouth.
"You know, you shouldn't be out here in this..." She could give a full account of all the reasons why and the horrible things cold and damp could do for the body if one was not used to such conditions, but she thought better of it. Information wasn't what the little Rabbit needed right now, so much as to get in out of the rain. As much as Seena was loathe to return. Though the mixture of sleet and rain seemed to be skewing more towards sleet now, as the weather got colder, and that wasn't nearly so enjoyable.

Cornflower was startled a bit when the Doe opened her big blue eyes to look at her. Still clutching the bucket in her mouth, she began to reply. "My naem ish...", only then realizing that she couldn't quite speak properly. She carefully placed the bucket on the ground, and tried answering again. "My name is Cornflower, and it's nice to finally meet you face-to-face. Although, I'm sorry for interrupting your time in the rain." she said in a quiet, shy voice. She wasn't quite used to talking with Does just yet, since she hadn't ever before being sent to live here.
It was then that she shivered greatly, and it shook her entire body. It really was cold out, especially as more and more sleet fell from the sky. Looking up at the Selkie Doe, she nodded her head in agreement with her statement. "Yes. Perhaps we should venture back inside?" Without waiting long for a reply, she grabbed up the bucket again and began to hop her way back to the warren.
At least she hadn't dilly dallied for too long.

"Cornflower. It suits you. I remember a poem..." Seena shook herself. No, perhaps later it would be an appropriate time to ramble about the girl's namesake, but right now was definitely not it. "Well, never mind. And don't worry about interrupting, it was getting a bit too chilly out anyway. The climate was definitely more mild back in the Lakes." A wistful look crossed her face, and she slowly stood up, giving the little Leveret an encouraging smile. Their Warren had so few of them currently, and she was glad of the ones they did. She felt that each individual Leveret put forth more effort like this than in a Warren like her Father-Jack's, where they'd had more servants than it was easy to keep track of.
She nodded. "Yes, I believe that would be best." Though her mind began to go over all the reasons why, the Doe kept these to herself, hopping after the other Rabbit towards the warmth of the Warren. Home. It still seemed odd to call it that, but so it was.
Once inside, the Doe had the strong inclination to shake herself off, and she did give a little toss of her head, sending a few water drops skittering on the floor, nearly solid enough to be called ice. Brrr. "After you set that water down, could you run and fetch a few towels, Cornflower? The fluffiest you have." She knew she had power of command over her, but really she saw no reason to be snobby about it. Having a good relationship between all members of the Warren helped to keep things running smoothly. She could still remember that one account she'd read of a Jack who was overwhelmed by a horrible uprising of a small army of Leverets...nasty business, and all because he didn't bother paying enough attention to what was going on around him, and treated them all as bad as any Jack ever could treat his servants. No Warren could run without them, though, and Seena intended to remember that lesson.

The Selkie Doe's smile comforted the small blue Leveret as they headed back into the Warren. Once they got inside, Cornflower placed the bucket down again so she could properly shake the ice and water off of her fur. She heard the Selkie's request, and turned to respond. "Yes, of course. The linen closet is closer than the kitchens anyway. I'll get you one of the best towels we have, then I'll head to the kitchen with the water. Be right back!" she squeaked as she hopped down the hall.
She came upon the closet in record time. Opening it, she found some soft, fluffy white towels on one of the lower shelves. Grabbing one, she closed up the closet, and headed back towards the entrance where the Doe was waiting. Upon reaching her destination, she stopped, unfolded the towel, and placed it as best she could over the Doe.
"There. That should warm you up in no time. Do you need anything else before I take the water to the kitchen? I could always attend to you more after I drop the bucket off..." Cornflower paused then, because she realized she'd never asked the Doe her name. "I'm sorry, I've forgotten your name. Would you mind telling me again what it is?"

Seena sat down near the entrance to wait, nodding encouragingly at the Leveret. "Oh, thank you kindly, Cornflower," she called, watching her hop off, her mind already wrapped up in what she should do after this. She knew that if Rhodney required her presence, he would send for her in due course, so she didn't need to worry about that unless she heard otherwise. But obviously, her night of sitting out in the rain was over, unless she wanted to freeze to death which was an absolutely nasty way to go. Everything she'd read before about it just...oh, it made your skin crawl! Luckily, she was saved from thinking about it too much by the return of the Sorgaire.
"Oh, this is perfect, yes," she replied, smiling and pulling the towel close around her shoulders, pleased to note it was well made and warm. She tilted her head, thinking, whiskers giving a little twitch. "Why don't you drop the bucket off, do what you need to do...and then perhaps we could take tea by the fire?" Oh, that sounded lovely right about now. And perhaps she could find this Cornflower to be decent company? She seemed bright enough to not be dull like the Leverets at her old Warren.
"Seena, and don't worry about it this time," she said graciously. After all, she was still fairly new to this Warren, and this was her first time speaking with Cornflower. Rubbing the towel on her fur a bit, she sighed, thinking about what a mess this would make her fur. Maybe she should pick up a brush too on the way to the sitting room? Oh, but maybe it didn't matter, not unless her Jack called her, after all.

Cornflower's ears raised up slightly at the praise she received from Seena. She was always glad to do something helpful. And since she was a Leveret, she got to do a lot of helping around the Warren. Not that she minded much. It gave her a chance to learn, and she was most always in a general state of happiness.
When Seena made her suggestion, Cornflower almost couldn't believe it. A Doe wanted to have tea with her? This would be the first time that she would have this kind of interaction with a Doe. It seemed like she was well on her way to making a new friend in the Warren.
"I-I-I would be honored to have tea with you. I'll be sure to get the best tea we have from the kitchens when I drop off this water. I don't know how much of a variety we have, but are there any kinds you prefer?"
Once she heard Seena's reply, she clutched the bucket in her mouth. "I'll meet chu by teh fire!" she squeaked out before she hopped down the hall again, this time heading towards the kitchen.
----
About a half an hour later, Cornflower headed towards the fireplace room, tea pot handle in her mouth, and two drinking bowls in a small pack on her back. When she arrived, she noticed that the Doe hadn't arrived yet. Quickly, she set down the tea pot onto the table closest to the fire, and placed a bowl on each side of it. Then, she noticed the fire needed a couple more logs to keep it going, so she did just that. The fire picked up again with a few sparks, and the heat warmed up the Leveret considerably. Cornflower closed her eyes and basked in the warmth, already enjoying her small break from her usual duties.
((OOC: Hope you don't mind the itty bitty time jump ^^))

Seena was actually rather amused by the little Leveret's reaction. Some of them were honestly just so -surprised- by the littlest thing! It was very gratifying, but she was careful to keep a neutral expression. No sense offending the little creature. "Well, I'm rather fond of chamomile. Tastes lovely, in my opinion, not to mention the lovely health benefits to that particular herb when taken near bed time." She smiled as she watched Cornflower hop off, hoping tonight would be fun and that the Leveret would be able to provide some sort of stimulating conversation.
----
Seena had only meant to return to her room for a brief amount of time, just long enough to brush her hair a bit. But she'd gotten distracted by the most fascinating little spider crawling in the corner of her bedroom. She didn't recognize it, and so she simply -had- to pull out her book and see if she could find mention of it, though it was hard to find much information on the harmless invertebrates unless one got one's paws on the rare Covistowne book, which Seena sadly owned none of; those had all remained behind in her Father's Warren.
Only after failing to find the information she needed did the Doe recall where she was supposed to be, and with a little gasp she ran out of the room, dropping the towel in a hamper on her way, and hurried into the sitting room, taking a deep breath to compose herself and smiling at the Leveret that was already there, sitting near the fire. "I am so very sorry, I meant to get here sooner." She hopped over to a couch near the fire and sat down, sniffing at the fire curiously. Of course, it smelled like pine...or was it fir? Either way it was no less than she'd come to expect from living here in the mountains.

The small blue Leveret jumped slightly when she heard a voice speaking to her. Her eyes flew open to look at the Selkie Doe behind her. "Oh! It's no problem. No problem at all. Can I get you some tea?"
Without waiting for much of a response, Cornflower hopped over to the table where the tray was set, and she began to pour Seena her tea into one of the bowls. Once it was filled, she moved it towards the side of the table closest to the chair the Doe was sitting in. Before going to pour her own tea, she had one more question to ask. "Would you like any cream or sugar with that?"
Once they each had their tea, Cornflower began to sip hers in silence. It tasted wonderful, especially with a pinch of sugar thrown in. Her whole body relaxed as she continued to sip the warm liquid until half of the bowl was empty. Wanting to make sure Seena was enjoying the tea as well, she looked up at the Selkie's face. "Is it to your liking?"
