Seena nodded, whiskers perking forward and nose wiggling daintily as she sniffed at the tea, now. Oh yes, that was simply wonderful, and a small smile broke over her muzzle, reaching out a paw to move the bowl to precisely the right position. Curious, she thought, that the Leveret would choose to serve the tea like this. Perhaps she wasn't aware that all Does were taught to balance a tea cup in their paws, the better to impress their Jack and sit as a worthy companion? She decided not to call attention to this fact, of course, for really it seemed a trivial thing to quibble over, especially when their Jack was not present.
"Oh, just a spoonful of sugar, thank you," she responded, nodding as she watched Cornflower stir it in. Leaning forward, she took a slow sip, closing her eyes as she let the heat from the drink radiate through her body. Oh yes, it was well prepared. She took another sip, lost in contemplation of tea and the rain or hail she could still hear distantly, pounding on the sides of their Warren. She blinked over at the Leveret at her question, unaware how much time had passed, and was a bit surprised to see about half of her own bowl gone, as well. "Oh yes, it's delightful. The natural flavors of the herb are brought out splendidly with just a hint of added sweetness, as I'm sure you know as well." She smiled, but of course she'd come here hoping to get a bit of stimulating conversation out of the bargain. "So tell me, Cornflower, what interests you?"

It felt so good to get some praise for her hard work. Even if it was just tea. Every little bit helped, in her opinion. It was also nice to make a friend with one of the Does in the process. Maybe she could learn from Seena how to become a Doe herself one day. Cornflower was sure the Selkie could teach her a thing or two.
Seena's question was totally out of the blue for the little Leveret. No one had ever really asked her a personal question like that before. At first she wasn't quite sure what to say. After a few moments, she finally came up with a response. It wasn't much, but it was the truth.
"Well, to be honest, I don't know. I never really had much of a chance to accumulate any hobbies before I was traded away. But, since I've come to live here, I have taken a liking to cooking, so I spend as much time as I can in the kitchen. And...and what about you, Seena? What do you find interesting?" The little blue Leveret was a bit nervous in asking such a question, but since she had just bared a bit of herself, she felt it was only right for the Doe to do the same.

Seena took another sip while she waited for Cornflower to mull the question over. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she realized that it probably wasn't often that a Doe took the time to talk to a Leveret like this, so perhaps it was strange for the other Rabbit. It was also rather new to her, as most of the Leverets in her other Warren had not been very eager to speak with her, either finding her odd, scary, or just distracting. Seena didn't think she was really any of these things, and it was nice someone was giving her a chance to prove otherwise. Even if it was just a Leveret.
When the answer eventually came, Seena blinked a bit, though she supposed the answer should not actually have surprised her. What could she expect a servant to say interested them? She forcefully pushed down the unreasonable wave of disappointment at feeling she couldn't connect with Cornflower. After all, cooking could be interesting!
"I see! Well what sorts of dishes do you most enjoy cooking, then? Do you follow recipes stringently or add in your own touch?" She'd make this work! She did, after all, read cook books sometimes if there were no other suitable materials. She smiled a bit when the question was turned on her...hopefully the answer wouldn't seem improper, but she refused to hide who she was, especially from a Leveret. "Reading, mostly. I enjoy learning new things, planning things out...exploring a bit." Not that she generally had much chances to do the latter, but at least she could read about the experiences of those who had.

Cornflower felt a little ashamed when Seena asked more about her cooking style. She'd only helped out a bit here and there, and never had made something on her own. She wasn't that skilled yet, unfortunately.
"To be honest, I've never made a meal on my own. Layla does a lot of the cooking for the Warren, and lately I've been helping out more and more while trying to learn from her. One day I hope to make something of my own for everyone here." The Leveret blushed slightly at the thought, and she hoped Seena wouldn't think her too foolish.
When the Selkie Doe mentioned reading and all her other interests, Cornflower couldn't help but feel...beneath her? Was that the right phrase? But that was natural, she supposed, with her being a Leveret and Seena being a Doe and all. Maybe if she became interested in more things, then one day she would be a Doe herself?
Her head swimming with several thoughts, she went back to sipping her tea while mulling things over. "You're just overreacting again. Calm down, and enjoy your time with Seena. Maybe she can teach you a few things." she thought to herself. And that didn't sound like a bad idea at all.
"Seena, do you think you could teach me how to read? I know a little, but not much, and it would certainly help with my cooking if I want to follow a recipe. I mean, this is only if you have the time. I don't want to be a burden." She cast her eyes downward as she wanted for a response.

Seena tried her best to keep her disappointment and surprise out of her tone when she heard the Leveret's reply. "I see. Well, when you do, I shall be sure to sample it for you and tell you how it came out," she offered, gesturing with a paw. This Leveret sadly seemed...a bit dull. Not that most of them weren't, but Cornflower had held such promise, Seena had hoped she could find someone in the Warren that she might be able to call a friend.
But then...before the sad truth could really sink in...Cornflower made an odd request. "You don't...already know how?" she blurted, and then flushed, realizing that might have come out a little harsher than she'd intended. She didn't want to hurt the poor girl's feelings, after all. "I mean...usually that's the sort of things they teach Leverets...at least in my old Warren. But yes," she added with a friendly smile, hoping to make up for her earlier lack of tact, "I'd be happy to teach you. And I'm a Doe, so unless Rhodney wants me for something, I have nothing but leisure time." She snorted slightly. It was a wonder most Does didn't go stir crazy, cooped up sometimes for days with little or nothing to do. At least Cornflower was willing to learn, to improve her knowledge. Seena's respect for the little Leveret went up again at this.
