The Capitol was a busy, crowded place ..... but she liked it far better then the Villa! There were so many people here with different interests and hobbies that they didn't care if she painted or played an instrument or anything like that .... they could care less and she rather enjoyed that. She trotted down the street, fluffy tail up and curled as her little mane bounced and her ears swiveled .... she was on a mission! Before moving out here she'd asked the owner of the store she'd always gotten her painting supplies from before to give her the addresses of some reliable places in the city and she was off to his top pick .... and couldn't be more excited! She stopped at the door and peered up, double checking the name on the sign before pushing the door open with a paw. Oh my, the selection here was incredible! There were far more colors and brands here then in the cozy little shop back in her homeland .... awesome! She made a short lap around the store before stopping in front of the display of the brand she used and peered at it, eyes widened ever so slightly at large array of colors. Oh my .... what to choose? They were all so pretty! Her tail swished from side to side as she pondered this most difficult question.

The cat was having a predicament-filled day today. First in the morning he'd run out of a cherry red, and now he was out of a sky blue. He wandered just down the street from the painting studio he'd been working at (sometimes they even bought his art, or put it into galleries, they were too kind!), to one of his favorite supply stores. It was well known enough that he wasn't surprised to hear conversation inside, already patrons were coming in and out at such an early point in the afternoon. He wandered over to the brand he always used and noticed another feline staring wide-eyed at the selection. He studied her for a moment, narrowing his eyes with a curious smile, wondering if he'd come to the right conclusion. Walking up to her, he smiled brightly. " Hello there. Are you new to this area? This is my favorite brand of paints, and this store has great prices... that is, if you practice painting?" He didn't want to seem too hopeful, but it was rare that he met someone in here who knew much about it. Most did it as a leisurely thing or bought it as a gift, so the few times he'd tried to strike up a conversation about the craft, it had ended a bit... awkwardly. The feline himself was currently speckled with paint, a few larger blotches about his nose and upper shoulder. It might have looked a little comical, with how brightly colored he was beforehand, he usually looked like a rainbow explosion after painting. Animal forms weren't the most convenient for delicate hand crafts, but he worked around that for now.

She nearly jumped when someone began to speak to her, so wrapped up in her color search, but managed to get by with only fluffing out her already fluffy fur .... not to embarrassing. And, by the looks of him at the least, he was a fellow painter. That could definitely prove useful ..... and my, what a colorful mess he was! He just had to be at least partially Morganberry.... she couldn't think of any other realm that would be quite so... .bright.
Why yes, actually. I just moved out here from the Villa. This shop was recommended to me and .... my, it has more colors then I'm used to.
She was certain the heart of the Villa had a shop that was even larger and filled with even more colors then this, but she hadn't been there since she was quite small .... she wasn't permitted to go with the family until she took up an instrument .... bah. She'd tried though .... music just ... .wasn't her thing. Her siblings? Yes, they were wonderful and just as talented as their parents.... but she just didn't have the heart for it. Painting.... yes, that was her forte.
This is the brand I used back home ... would you mind telling me the difference between some of these colors? They seem almost the same to me... .especially the reds..
Her tail curled up again, hopefully he'd be able to help her! She was working on a piece that she needed a rather specific shade for.... and it was difficult to tell which that would be by looking at the little paper 'sample' squares.

When the feline startled at his voice, he turned his head as if looking at the colors to hide a smile, she probably wouldn't feel good about him being so amused by her embarrassment. Just as he was an easily spotted Morganberry, so was she obviously a Villa. When she spoke, it only confirmed this, making him smile wider.
"Well then, let me welcome you to the capital! This shop is quite nice, but not overly popular due to the secluded location. But we painters can be a lone wolf bunch." He chuckled and then shrugged, "At least, I don't mind how quiet and peaceful it is in here." He wondered then, if she was from the Villa, what other talents she might have had. Maybe it was wishful thinking, but he'd heard they were also musicians oftentimes. They probably found a Morganberry with an artist's soul to be strange, it was definitely more of a Villa life he lived.
"Reds are my forte." A bright glimmer to his eyes accompanied his words as he started to go through the list, beginning with some which were a bit more easy to tell apart and moving onto those that looked the same until out of the tube. "RR43 is an orange tint, it comes out looking more like rich autumn leaves than fire, RR44 is a yellow tint which has a royal feeling to it, RR50 is the pure red tint and can be useful for natural things like fire. RR55 has a metallic compound which creates an amazing effect if used right, RR58 is a matte which is good for background details, and RR59 is a glossy finish good for things like blood, or, if mixed right, flower petals." He paused and then blushed slightly.
"I'm sorry, I must seem a little obsessed. I've been painting for years so each color has become associated with something I've drawn or seen." Which, considering the huge shelves before them, was definitely saying something. Obviously that huge imagination was being put to an... interesting use.
"My name is Tristian by the way, I work at a painting studio nearby on my days off actual work. And you are?"

Ah, delightful ... .her first day out and about and she'd run into an avid, helpful artist! What luck! She listened to him with perked ears and a continually swaying tail as she eyed each of the colors he explained. Ah, they all made sense now... and she could picture them. That touch of metallic.... that would be the one she needed.
She cocked her head to the side and peered over at him, his blush going unnoticed due to his fur color, but she could tell that there was a slight waver in his voice that went along with it, and grinned. At least growing up with violinists taught you some useful things.
The imagery helps quite a bit actually .... and ... . a studio? That has to be quite wonderful!
That sounded like a positively splendid life really .... so far she was rather enjoying her time in the Capitol.
Violetta, it's quite the pleasure to make your acquaintance..
The manners she'd been taught she'd use .... her last name? Not as often. She held out her paw for a shake to seal the greeting as proper.

He was glad that she didn't see him as a little bit nutty for making up all these images in his head at something as simple as the name of a color. It was mostly for organizational sake, otherwise he'd have been in the same boat as her. He looked up and to the right where the blues were, and picked a bright sky blue, like the one you would imagine shimmering sunflowers sitting in front of, and tossed it absent-mindedly into a satchel slung over one shoulder.
"It's a pretty nice one. Normally you have to pay for lessons, but I don't go for lessons, I just go to practice. Which is funny, because I've gotten to practice with some very esteemed painters just because I happened to be in the room." He grinned then and looked at her curiously. "I don't suppose you'd be interested in visiting? They do gala shows and occasionally buy pieces from up-and-coming artists. Somehow I have a feeling it might be lucrative for you." Another genuine smile was given- for although he hadn't seen her paintings personally, he knew enough about her realm to know she was probably pretty good. Maybe even Really good. Maybe she could teach him some techniques, or they could swap. Oh, daydreaming again.
He peered at the offered paw curiously before giving a short dip of a bow and then taking her paw somewhat clumsily. He'd never done this before, he was more of a bow-or-hug kind of guy. "Pleasure to meet you as well Violetta, oh did you find your color?" He was about ready to go up to the counter, but he wanted to wait and go with her when she was ready. If she needed more color counselling, he was just too happy to provide assistance!
