((teehee teehee)) Kanoni found herself wondering what had possessed her to walk into this poorly lit restaurant with way too loud music playing, but then the beverage she had ordered arrived. She was curious as to what exactly made a iced tea different enough to be termed Long Island... Well, it must be from somewhere in the Selkie Lakes she supposed. The first sip was slightly painful, burning her sensitive sinuses, but not wanting to seem unsopisticated she smiled widely at the waitress, " Could I order some food now?" The Corvie rat laughed and said that they mostly just sold drinks but that Kanoni could have some nachos if she wanted. It struck Kanoni as weird that a restaurant would make any profits if they only sold drinks. She took another gulp of her drink as the waitress walked away. Kanoni was feeling a little warm and her throat felt kind of funny, like it was smaller than usual, so another sip of tea seemed like a good way of solving that problem.

Nocturne sat down and had already started to wonder why she chose to go to a bar. It was her first time in the Capital without parents...or anyone else for that matter. Sitting in her hotel room, she grew bored enough to adventure out and see the night life. When she walked up to the bar, she decided if this was going to be a day of firsts, she'd see what a bar all about. Now that she was surrounded by deafening noise, smoke and the stench of others good times, she realized that the first time bar hop could have waited for another night...or maybe never. Too late for that now..."What would you like?" Nocturne was startled by the surprisingly loud voice coming from the small Corvie rat below. She started to tap her paws together. What would I like? How would I know? The rat smiled, waiting patiently on the surface, hiding her tapping foot under the table. "Um...uh...how about something...fruity?""Sure, hun," the waitress said and walked away, chuckling under the music. She returned a short time later with a bright blue concoction in a globe shaped glass. Nocturne stared for a few moments, memorized that a drink could be that pretty. She directed the straw toward her mouth and took a small sip...which was followed by a burn in her throat and a hefty cough. A few more tiny sips and the coughs stopped, soon followed by a relaxation that Nocturne admired. I guess this isn't so bad.

"So then, I was just going to buy the newest book, but the look on the woman's face, well, I guess she expected me to get all of them, so I did, and man, it was totally worth it. They were really good you should definitely read them, definitely," Kanoni blathered to some poor Avington finch, who had been trying to leave for a good six minutes. Some pretty blue hound had already taken his seat at the bar and ordered a pretty blue drink. As Kanoni's attention drifted to the other patron, the finch wisely used the distraction to escape.
Kanoni preened her feathers on her left shoulder, for probably the third time that night, they always seemed to sit a little funny to her. She brought the straw of her second long island to her mouth and then remembered that it was still empty when the suction slurped so loudly the waitress noticed. The rat looked annoyed, and pointedly found another customer to serve. Kanoni felt a little bad but then she was distracted by the last nacho on her plate. She chewed, her eyes closed, enjoying the experience of eating. When she opened her eyes again she noticed the lights moved at a different speed than her eyes. How weird.
Abruptly, she turned again to the bar and said, a little louder than she intended, "Hey, what kind of drink is that? That blue one there? is it good? The blue one?"
