Note: No blood, but some really nasty bruises! I'll post them a ways down just in case you clicked on accident. So, I haven't shared this with anyone yet, but it's starting to really amuse me so I figured I would. <3 On Wednesday, I nearly fractured my foot sparring. I won't go into the nitty-gritty details of the moves since I don't think anyone else here is into martial arts to understand, but the gist of it is that I kicked a guy in the knee with the flat of my foot. One of the black belts thought I might have broken it, so I spent a good part of Thursday in and out of doctors offices getting it x-rayed and the like. It is not broken or fractured in anyway, but it's turning into a splendidly disgusting bruise and is still difficult to walk/stand on for more than four or five hours. THE PICTURES! Again, if you don't want to look.. please don't. XD This one was taken Friday (two days after): These two were taken roughly 20 minutes ago (Saturday): It's hard to get the phone to pick up the lighter-colored bruise that spans most of my foot, heh. I can't even look at it for that long without getting grossed out, but I know some of you will enjoy it XD

Eww. You poor thing! And it's probably going to keep going through spectacular spectrums as it heals, too.
I'm glad that your foot isn't broken, at least!

I won't go into the nitty-gritty details of the moves since I don't think anyone else here is into martial arts to understand, You might want to watch your wording here. You're being a bit presumptuous about what we do with our free time. ;D the thing that gets me isn't the bruising, but the placements. How there's a bruise near the ankle, further up the side and by the toes... all from the same single injury. XD (As a note totally unrelated to your foot: I know you're all proud of your Tae Kwon Do and all, but if you aren't already a black belt, I highly suggest you do not go for it. If you are a black belt in a martial art, the law considers you armed at all times. If you are ever in a situation where you are in a fight with someone, say to defend yourself, whatever court that sees the case will count that against you, especially if the other person is not armed.)

Ohhhh, ouucch! I can totally relate to that kind of injury. A few years okay I tripped off a sidewalk (I know, totally smooth) and tore a ligament in my foot. I had a huuuuuuge purple/black/blue bruise across my ankle (seriously, it was realllly bad) and I had to wear a splint for at least a couple months and it took forever to fully heal. (Though I still have occasional issues with it- it's never regained all of its former strength). Basically, I feel your pain. I feel like foot injuries are some the most time-consuming to heal. Yeesh. I hope your recovery is speedy and relatively painless.
yowie!! D:

Tiny bit snarktastic, Satra-dear. x3 Though the tidbit on being always armed... I totally didn't know that. And honestly it's kind of awesome. Not, I'm sure, if you're at a disadvantage because of it. But... armed and dangerous and nobody might know it. Rather spiff. Greenie, owwwwwwww, cripes. I cannot stand injuries to my feet and I've certainly never had one that looked as nasty as that one. Like a shiner for your extremity. *le wince*

Satra: I wasn't trying to be presumptuous... I've just never heard anyone else talk about being involved in it before, so I didn't want to go into a lengthy explanation that was only going to bore people. I don't understand the bruise either. XD The injury itself is right under my ankle (NOT on the darker bruise, though!) and the flat of my foot wasn't hurt. I have no idea why it's bruising so bad down by my toes. It's actually gotten weirder since these pictures. I'm debating on whether or not to document it further..
As for black-belting.. I'm a ways away, but I've heard that before. One of my instructors told us a story about someone who got sued for hitting a guy that was trying to steal from him. He didn't hit him hard, just hard enough to get away, and he got sued for excessive use of force. The robber WON.
Callypso: OUCH! I'm really glad I didn't actually break or tear anything :x So far, so good as far as the healing. Tylenol with codeine helps >>
Jenn: Most of the blackbelts I work with are not people you'd ever guess are blackbelts XD I see them outside of class and snicker, because they look so inconspicuous and innocent. As for my bruise, yeah, it's nasty. Like I said to Satra ^ it's actually gotten worse/more interesting since yesterday. It's a nice mottled green-yellow now, all over. It's not the worst bruise I have, though - there's one on my hip that's nearly black, but I'll spare you guys pictures of that one. XD I'm not sure exactly what happened that day, since I've never gotten so many bruises, and never so many bad ones... who knows.

I was trying to be teasy, not snarky, but okay. Do keep documenting it, Greenie! And the robber story? Shit like that honestly infuriates me. The entire situation is so stupid. What is wrong with our legal system that allows that to happen? Not, I'm sure, if you're at a disadvantage because of it. You probably gather that from Greenie's story about the robber, but you're at a disadvantage legally.

Ugh... painkillers aren't that awesome for me, actually. (Not true for my SD, though! hahaha) The only thing that really works for me are things like tylenol, IBUProfen, advil;etc. Things like vicodine;etc aren't that effective unless I'm taking considerable amounts. (My pops is the same way.) Blarrrgh.
And I totally took pics of my injury, too. You just kind of have to- especially when an extremity turns funny colors and puffs up to kingdom come. Morbid fascination, for sure!

XD If you guys want to see it, I'll keep taking pictures! I have a group processing for staff tonight, but I'll take some after I get back. It was really gross this morning so I'm sure it's only gotten worse.
Yeah, it really pissed me off too :/ What kind of country allows a robber to get away with robbing, but punishes people for defending themselves?
Painkillers work for me, but I have to be super careful with anything that's sleep-inducing, because those hit me very hard. One nyquil or benadryl is enough to knock me out for 8-10 hours. The tylenol-codeine combination didn't knock me out, but it's enough to keep me drowsy all day, ugh.

Here's the one I just took: It's turning green now, but still isn't dark enough for the camera to pick up all the discoloration.
