Conall was liking this less and less. And right now he really wanted his Mommy. Or Daddy. Or anyone. Anyone other than the person who was leading him around and couldn't even describe his own pet. He choked back the tears as he continued to glance at the bird and the street. Maybe he was better off finding this place on his own? This person was strange and scary.
"Oh," he said after a moment. "Okay... well how did you think you could find it without being able to describe it?"
He might as well ask. Even if it was a dumb question that was probably going to get a dumb reply he had to focus on something so he wouldn't burst into tears from panic. Where were they now? He glanced around for a street sign, and failed to find one. Why had they left him alone in this scary city?

He didn't notice the other's reaction, he would have been more ashamed if he had. His eyes where once more scanning his surroundings and for the familiar form that was the creature that had darted off in the crowds. The question had him focusing on the small card again however and he paused, he would be glad if he could continue his own way.
How would he find it indeed "I... I don't know.." He finally spoke, almost looking comically shocked "I.. just hoped to stumble across it...?" It ended in an unintentional question.
He shook his head and looked up, recognizing some of the buildings and a sigh of relief escaped. He would be able to leave the kid alone soon and search for his Tove again, where food was... there was also a Tove, his Tove to be exact, hopefully. It was almost funny to see how much his Tove loved it.
He finally cleared his throat slightly and focused his attention on Conall fully "It's not too far anymore.." He spoke, already imagining the relief that the both of them would feel to be released from each other's presence. It was a wonder why he had insisted on going with the kid.

Conall gave a small sigh of relief when he heard the comment about their destination not being that far away. Even if he he didn't trust where the stranger was going, when they reached the destination, right or wrong, he could bolt to find someone who wasn't so... so... strange.
It didn't make any sense that he was looking for a Tove that he couldn't manage to describe. Was it a clever ploy to get him alone? Someone had told him about strangers using something like that to lure children away. But this stranger didn't seem to be interested in him at all.
"That's..." Conall said after an awkward silence had managed to develop between them. "A little unproductive. You should post something or ask people in shops if they saw your tove pass by. Randomly asking strangers who are running around isn't going to get you anywhere."
Was he giving advice to an adult? Oh this seemed very wrong.

He blinked as the younger Card spoke to him. He hadn't really thought about that, he wasn't used to putting something as small as that on paper, but if it worked it was worth a try "I should do that.." He nodded his head lightly, gazing again at the surroundings, it wasn't too far anymore. Not surprising as each step they took would bring them closer, but the tense air made it seem like it were miles away still.
It was very strange to take advice from someone younger than him. He blushed lightly and raised a wing slightly as if to hide his face from the rest of the world. It stopped halfway as if realizing what he was doing and the wing was lowered again.
He finally stopped and mentioned, quite awkward, with his wing to the building "Well, there it is.." He spoke after a short hesitation "Good luck... with finding... your..." He silenced himself, this was getting nowhere "No matter, well kid.." He finally continued "Don't try to get lost next time.."
He looked even more awkward now saying that, it didn't seem to fit the image that he wanted to show the outside world "I'll be leaving now, yes.." He took a few steps back "Goodbye, I guess.." He finally turned, the kid would be able to get around now and they would be saved from each other's awkward presence.

Conall stopped when the bird pointed with his wing to the building. Was that actually the right place? He wasn't particularly sure. It wasn't like he had actually seen the place. For a moment he hesitated when the man spoke to him. Was it better to be alone or was it better to be with an awkward adult.
"Uh, thank you! Good luck finding your Tove!" he said turning to wave at the man. He really was grateful and he really did hope the man found what he was looking for. It couldn't have been that hard if it was his pet, right? And he was a responsible adult so he could find what he was looking for... he found this place.
When the boy turned around he was surprised to see his babysitter rushing over to collect him. It was the right place after all.
