Viola turned a vivid shade of red and the woman petting her ears. It was unexpected, and not many people had done this before. Well, to be honest no one had ever gone and petted her ears to this extent.
And she liked them! That was great!
"T-thank you!" Viola said cheerfully. Her ears fell however when she couldn't remember the other woman's name. Had she said her name? Oh no, not this again. Crap. One day she would get over this social retardation and remember parts of the previous conversation she had with a person.
"Er.... I hate to say this, but I don't think I caught your name. And if I did... I'm afraid I completely and utterly forgot it." The blush spread on her face as she looked at the butterfly. Her forgetfulness was a reason why she still merely debated on going back to school.

Vana almost blushed a little at the mere sight of the other woman blushing. She was... kind of cute. Immediately her thoughts rebelled such a thought, clinging tenaciously to her memories of Lysaras. The hand running through Faolin's fur stopped briefly as her fingers tightened gently on the bristled fur.
Why did she have to think of her now?
"You're very welcome. I've never seen a snake with ears, but it's a very nice addition." Vana paused as she watched the other woman's ears fall suddenly and her blush start to slowly consume her face. What...? Had she done something? Her mind was instantly a whirl with all the things she must have done wrong only to be caught off guard by the question.
Oh... Oh that was a great relief.
The butterfly laughed softly and flashed a brief, gentle smile. "Oh! That's alright if you didn't catch it: I'm Parvana -- but you can call me Vana, if you'd like that."

Snakes with ears and antlers weren't very common she supposed. Then again Viola hadn't meant any other snakes besides Linda. She smiled at the butterfly, "Well, it's mostly because my Daddy's part deer. I was just lucky and managed to get some cute out of it. My sister ended up with the rest of the looks."
The snake tilted her head at the name. Okay. Vana. Parvana she could remember, it was nice and short like Helena's name and also ended with an "a." With a slightly renewed confidence the snake carefully shifted so the flowers wouldn't fall out of her antlers.
"Vana is a very pretty name! What does it mean? I haven't really heard it before...." Hers ears twitched as she spoke, she was curious to know more about this pretty person she had just met. Butterfly with a pretty name and rather strange ears her self. "And... I imagine most butterflies don't have wings like that on their head. Are those your ears technically or...? I hope you don't mind me asking all these questions."

"I think you two must have gotten an even share, you..." Vana nearly bit her tongue at the words that had nearly come out of her mouth. She did not want to come off as rash or... flirtatious. The butterfly blushed softly but picked up before a pause could really be made not of. "are not at all hard on the eyes."
Viola was lovely... And the ears and antlers really did make her quite cute as well.
Forcing the errant thoughts out of her head, Vana focused instead on the simple things like what her name meant and why she head wings on her head. "Parvana actually means Butterfly, if I remember correctly. My mum was quite proud of me and my parents were both very protective over me... A bit too much, in my opinion." She laughed a little, a hint of uncertainty wavering in the lovely little sound. "As for those, I'm not really sure. They're not ears, but just above where my ears are. Just decorative, I suppose." Vana wiggled them for effect. "I don't mind the questions at all, feel free to ask away."
Smiling gently as she stroked through Faolin's fur, Vana added: "What does your name mean, by the way? Viola is a very pretty name."

At the butterfly's comment she turned a bright shade of crimson. She hadn't meant that she was ugly, not in the least. She just meant that her sister had got all of the... curves? Highland charm? The thing Viola obviously didn't have that went past "cute." "Buh... I.... Thank you, I meant that she got the Highland charm or whatever it's called. She was... more of a player than I could ever be." She said way after the comment had been made. "Thank you though. Really."She shook it off as best as she could. Though it wasn't every day she got a compliment like that. How was she supposed to take it? "Butterfly... well that's very fitting. I can't say it's not considering it's what you are and it is a pretty name."Her ears flicked. "My name is a string instrument, and beyond that I don't know of a meaning. Though I know my namesake might be a cross dresser from a Shakespeare play." (( OOC: Embarrassed Viola was hard not to post. ;; ))

Parvana was insanely embarrassed by almost everything that seemed to be stumbling out of her mouth, or even trying to come to mind, just then. There were a great deal of things she could say, and probably even more that she shouldn't even voice... Viola's sister had been a player? ...Vana didn't find that very charming nor attractive, she much preferred Viola's 'cute'.
That, of course, was probably as good to leave unsaid as telling her how very 'easy on the eyes' she was. Oh dear. In the end, nothing managed to escape her aside from a nervous little "you're welcome".
As Viola moved on, however, Vana quickly followed her away from the topic at hand and back onto names. She liked them a great deal. "It is rather fitting, isn't it? I always thought it was a bit too suiting, though I do like it." A nervous little smile briefly surfaced before she went on. "An instrument? That sounds rather lovely though," she giggled briefly, "I must say I think I prefer that namesake to the other."
After a moment's thought, Vana extended a chitinous paw briefly for a couple of the flowers. "I can take a couple of flowers now and start weaving." Weaving while they spoke wouldn't be that hard, after all.

Viola blushed, the red clear on her white scales. "Well, you never know. I've never been one for clothing, but who knows. Cross dressing might be interesting. Clothing really might be interesting, I guess."
Her ears perked when Vana extend her hand. Oh right, flowers. The snake deer bowed her head in offering. "Take as many as you like," she said cheerfully. Flowers really were a great thing. People didn't appreciate them as much as they should. What was more beautiful that a little flower that greeted the sun rise. Of course... cut flowers were slightly different. They didn't last like the flowers in a garden. There was something painful about them.
But this really wasn't the time for thoughts like this. She could ponder over flowers some other time. She had company, and a rare sort of company. "Thank you very much, I have to say this brightens my day."

Vana thought about that for a moment before bobbing her head in agreement. Really, she couldn't be one to judge. It was an interesting name regardless of the name sake, Vana found it quite beautiful regardless of where it came from, and Vio did make a rather interesting point as to crossdressing being interesting. Vana had her bipedal and clothing, and she didn't exactly dress the most feminine part...so she couldn't really say anything.
Her wings fluttered in an absent little expression of uncertainty, but she preoccupied her hands with braiding flowers. "Clothing really is interesting... Though I find I prefer admiring others than actually wearing it." The butterfly laughed, thinking of how much she'd loved to see Lysaras in her dresses... It almost made her sigh but she kept the misery out of her voice to the best of her ability. "Oh... no, thank you! This is really a pleasure, just getting to whittle away the afternoon with flowers and good company."
Vana smiled softly. "I'm so glad I had the pleasure of meeting you today." To be alone again would have just been miserable, and to have company that didn't stare too hard was nice as well.

Viola couldn't help but giggle at the comment concerning clothes. She understood perfectly what the woman meant. Seeing Lani in all sorts of dresses was always interesting, but wearing anything... was difficult when you had no appendages. Still it would be nice to have someone again to look at.
The snake dear blushed brightly at the woman's comment. It had been entirely too long since she had spent time with someone like this.
"W-well, this is a weird question I guess. But it's been a while since I've met someone as nice as you. W-what do you do? I don't want to be rude, but I haven't really met that many people outside of the Courts... I used to live there when I was younger. Dad was always over protective and Father was terrifying. I never really figured out much of anything, and since you're a Corvie... I imagine you're pretty successful." Her entire face turned a bright shade of crimson as she spoke, completely unsure of how to handle anything.

Parvana flushed heavily at Viola's words. Successful? Oh dear... She didn't think so. She enjoyed what she did and, technically, was good at it but she wasn't looking for any breakthroughs and her studies had been set aside for misery and mourning as of late. Admittedly not the best use of time.
"Well, I.. I couldn't say I'm a successful Corvie, but my focus is in Electricity. I had been looking for a way to improve the current uses of it and to make it easier to harness, but I've... slacked, considerably..." For a moment the butterfly focused on braiding flowers, creating the lovely crown that she had promised Viola. "One day, maybe, I'll be able to make something successful of myself, but until then I am very happy to remain out of sight and out of mind."
Fame didn't suit her, not one bit. She was happy being anonymous save for her friends and family.
