Tons of Courts Questions

Instead of posting separately in each of the "Ask the Courts" threads, I'll just ask once here:

Could we possibly get an update on the key players in the Courts as this time? The 'the Queens', acting Queens, Kings, Jacks and current applicants for titles? Would it also be too much to get a little synopsis on their viewpoints, such as how they choose to rule, outlook on ranks/suits;etc? Do they have any grudges or particular opinions on the various realms? Are there any current alliances or ill-will towards other Courts?

Aaaand... if it's not too much to ask, maybe a summary of how each obtained power? Or maybe links to important threads?

Sorry, I know it's a lot to ask, but I've been browsing a lot trying to get up-to-speed on everything and it's just a lot!

My dear, you ask a lot.

The list posted in each Court is actually fairly accurate. The only difference is that Mnem (as far as I know) is the presiding King in Court of Diamonds and Ez is the second king under Queen Sadie.

And I think in the Court of Clubs Cassanova is taking a Jack Quest.

As for each the Queen who took power.

Aderlass killed the previous Queen of Clubs.
Donnie killed the previous Queen of Spades Lysaras in a bloody and unofficial battle.
Sadie acquired her title because the previous Queen of Diamonds Theofilus kicked the bucket via Heart attack.
Xiven acquired the title because the previous Queen of Hearts Se (Perseus) was killed in an accident that was a mix of his family and his insanity.

Of course HEARTS has the most complicated Queenship... thing ever. It started with Queen Serafino who was assassinated, and then Queen Shinrai took over and he... was quasi-assassinated by his son Se and then... accident.

As for point of view and synopsis? Uh well. Xiven is looking to make the world a better place and actually promote stability in the Court of Hearts and a new hopeful sense of pride. She generally hates Esterberries because she thinks they're all snotty and she dislikes most Highlanders because they're terribly judgmental. Alliances are shaky in her opinion and she would be more than happy to fix that... but I've had a lot on my plate recently.

Well I can tell you how Sabe, third Queen in the Court of Clubs came to power and his views and the sorts.

Sabe had lost his independent company of Safe Sabes' Delivery and decided that he would take a active role in the world and attempt to become a queen in the Court of Clubs. His quest was to find someone that would be helpful towards the court. He found Zuberi and asked her to be one of his helpers in case anything goes bad. So he fulfilled his quest by finding aid for the Court.

His beliefs are simple. Make the world a better place for clubs.

He really doesn't like hearts that much, and he dislikes aces and hates lowlanders. He wouldn't care if the whole region was plagued ridden and destroyed, be them clubs or not. He believes that aces don't really fit in the world and should be eliminated to clean up the gene pool.

That is what is on Sabes mind.

As for my characters currently in the courts (ENGAGE TL;DR!):

Hearts:

Heilyn - A Queen of Hearts
Heilyn hails from the Reamblen Bog and was the first official political liaison between the Bog and the outside. Mostly that liaison is between the Bog and courts of Hearts, but in the end, Heilyn doesn't care. So long as it benefits her homeland, she is happy. Her loyalty to the Heart Court extends to the point that the family she started resides there now, though few save who know her personally know this as she doesn't go out of her way to make sure anyone knows. There was something of a scandal with her first litter as she, a Heart noble, gave birth to a Club and took no effort to hide or reject him. Since then she has had a direct hand in bringing two more Club children into the Court of Hearts. They're not as much of a scandal as the first as the world is probably jaded to her antics by now. She has no outstanding prejudices* (there's a thing with the Lowlanders, but that's mostly due to their rot. She has nothing against them culturally), but at the same time seek little social reform as she doesn't particularly care. She seeks political stability, but mostly for the safety of her family. She recently suffered the loss of her husband, Seth, and one of her best friends, the former Presiding King of Hearts, Bernard. She is the mother of the current presiding King, Pale, and she is close with Xiven as Xiven is the mother of several of Heilyn's grandchildren.
*She generally assumes people fit into their stereotypes until they prove her wrong, but she lets them prove her wrong if they so see fit.


Clubs

Hadrian - Jack of Clubs
Hadrian is the before mentioned scandal Club baby. He is proud to be a Club and adores his family. Living his entire life in the Court of Hearts as a Club, his childhood was filled with taunting and harassment, so as soon as he was an adult he made a hasty decision to join the Court of Clubs. He's now discovering this is a very ill fit for him and is only staying because the court is understaffed and his loyalty will not let him leave them in a bad spot. He's currently the head Court gardener given his elemental ability and is in no way renown for his political actions or his intelligence. He had a child with the currently dying presiding King of Clubs, Anoushka. Despite his past (and the Solandrian stereotype) he is a sweet heart and is quite flirty (until recently when he decided to attempt his first monogamous relationship with another Club noble: Sage).


I have a character or two with their eyes on slots in the Hearts and Club Courts, but it will be a while before I can do anything with them, so it's not really worth note.

Let's see if I can't get you some info, too! I'll start with what I can think of and maybe add more from there, depending.

Hearts[/b]
I have a lot of characters here. A lot. But I'm only gonna talk about the one that has a title/any power, Apocalypse. I know you already know his backstory, so I won't get into that. <3 But yes, he is currently serving as the presiding King of Hearts under Xiven. To most of the outside world, he's pretty weird, because he just showed up one day with the story that he'd been born in the Bog, spent his entire childhood there, and then decided to join his "mother", Heilyn, in the courts. The rest is history. Of course, a number of the Heart nobles know the truth of what he is, but it's a very tightly-kept secret.

He shares a lot of his Realm's beliefs, but he has some beyond those. Like a pure and rather single-minded hatred towards Clubs. It's gotten better since he met a few Clubs he might like and gave birth to one (and later sired a second), but he's still fairly inclined to look down at them with the kind of disdain some people could only dream of. He also doesn't like Tulgeys much. Thanks, Rosemary and Femi. <3

Diamonds[/b]
This is the one you really need me for! I am the owner of the current Queen of Diamonds, Sadie. Sadie is a Yarrow through and through, and so while she'll tolerate men because she recognizes the necessity of that as long as she's not in the Gardens specifically, she still tends to feel that for the most part, they're all rather unworthy. Yarrow Males disgust her beyond that, however. She feels that all men born to that realm should have been neutered/otherwise altered at birth. Aces... whatever personal feelings she might have about them have been hidden, as she has taken over Theofilus's policy on Ace protection, which means she's fairly hard on the Fur Trade as well as Ace Cruelty.

Sadie and the current Queen of Spades, Donalda, have some kind of a sordid past. It ended badly, and the pair are on rather... tenuous ground with each other. She is also a kind of walking lie detector, and she uses that ability to her advantage as often as she can. An interesting note about her is that she is a Mantis, but she keeps that fact very quiet. She had to grow up getting that attention, and now, she'd rather get attention as Queen rather than Insect.

Also in the Diamond Court, I have Ceren, daughter of Theofilus and King serving under Iria, her wife. She uh. Mostly just takes care of paperwork - her main focus is on her love, the flowering sunshine of her life, the delight of... ...you get the picture, there. <3

Spades
Last but not least, I have Raina, who is a King serving under Donalda. <3 Raina is the daughter of Seth and (the previously mentioned) Bernard, the product of a rather zesty little scandal. Born human and King, Raina never had to work hard to get what she wanted growing up, and she thought this was frustrating. So she decided to enter the Courts at the age of 14. She didn't get her title until much later, but she's spent a lot of her life there. She and Donnie are friends/lovers, and she is also the father of Donnie's children. Raina doesn't have any specific stereotypes, but she is irritated by people who whine too often or think they should just have things handed to them. This is probably because she did have things handed to her, and she felt like it was a waste of her time.

Right now, she's trying to cope with the death of both of her parents, as well as the sudden birth of her children. Poor thing. <3

Spades
Mikael- Jack of Spades
Son of Seth and Heilyn, he's generally a mild mannered individual who is submissive enough to be tolerated underfoot by the feminist minded females of the Court. Studious and a hard worker, few people get to see his more stereotypical tendencies of being a bit of a sarcastic asshole. He's the sort that once bitten, he's twice shy. Mikael is not quick to forgive other people for rubbing his fur the wrong way.

Ahhhh... this is so, so wonderful. Thank you. I know I asked a lot. I feel like I have to start keeping family trees and notes on everyone, especially the Court of Hearts... holy crap. O.o;; And if makes anyone feel any better, I plan to put all of this knowledge to good use, though it may take a while for my plans to take fruition (muahahahahaaaa!).

I currently have one aspiring noble, Colin, who is currently on his Jack Quest for the Spades Court. He believes in good manners and the arts. Beyond that, he doesn't like unnecessary cruelty to Aces, though he does consider them as lesser beings. He has quite a few prejudices but is willing to make exceptions for Cards who prove themselves to him.

Also, watch this space...if you want I can hunt down the old battle threads for Queenship...they're generally fun reads.
