It was time. Time for Jak to go. To find his family. FINALLY. He was ready. The best place for him to go would be the palace with all the white and the shine and the flowers. He saw lots of his family there when he had his electric seizures. The eye-scarf was by far the best item he'd ever found, no question. I just did SO MUCH for him and he couldn't thank it enough. It made him sad to leave it alone as often as he had to, but Dell and Sa were keeping it company at home so that would be okay. He wanted to find lots of people, but more than anyone else, he wanted to find KIERAN and MOM. Kieran he knew was there. He always saw the same sorts of walls and floors. Mom sometimes didn't show up and that made him worried for her. She was the one he'd have to maybe lure out somehow. And he had an idea of how to do it. A red-eyed Apocalypse strolled down the hallways of the palace, glancing around and twitching a little and peeking into doors. He'd had the seizures just two days ago and so it would be way too early to have another one, which would have been really helpful but oh well. There were lots of family he might potentially run into. He had seen so many more of them the last two times! It was crazy! So many young ones! It made him want to dance in place when he thought about getting the chance to meet them all, but in the meantime, he would just watch them for five minutes a week and try to share in their lives that way. The world's creepiest voyeur. Nobody seemed to be stopping him and that was best. This form was a good one to pick, so long as he didn't run into its original owner. Which would be bad. But it was a BIG place and that wasn't too likely, was it? He opened another door, this one much fancier, and peeked inside. Oh, hey, a bedroom. And he recognized this one! Sort of. He'd seen Mom in here before. He stepped inside and closed the door, standing in the antechamber of the Queen of Hearts's suite. Staring at the doors, he picked one at random and opened the door to Xiven's bedroom.

The heavy scent of perfumed smoke continued to linger even after Kamina had left the room on her own accord. This left The Queen of Hearts alone and out of her head. In all honestly Xiven hated the idea of being high. Never in her life had she been forced to depend on something. However she had made the mistake early on of going without Kamina's smoke, and that was more painful than most of the pain she had experienced in her entire life. So ultimately she was stuck in a state of depending on her daughter every too days so she wouldn't curl up in a ball and be completely and utterly useless to the entire world. Right now she was pretty useless, but at least that wore off. The headaches never went away, not like she had spent too much time with them, but she was convinced they would never disappear. Xiven was curled up on the bed, her face buried under a pillow until she hear the click of the door. For a few moments she didn't move, and when she did she simply rolled out from under the pillow so she could inspect who had come to bother her. Upside down she glanced at the at the form of Apocalypse. Huh. What was he doing here? And why was he upside down? And wasn't something off? It didn't really matter. He was here. It meant he wanted something right? Or did it mean he wanted her? That would be nice.

Hehehe, rolly kitty. Oh, wait. Hey! He knew that one! He saw her when he saw his family. That meant she was family! And he'd never met her before. But Mom knew her and he'd seen Mom doing all sorts of stuff with her, especially before she disappeared a lot of the time.
He strolled into the room and grinned, a rather frightening sight with the shark teeth of the human man but one that she was no doubt used to. His voice mimicked the man's exactly, except for the way that he spoke. "Hiiiii there. Have you seen Rhiannon? I can't find her. Also, say hi to me. Are you happy? You look kinda loopy."
Curious now as he looked into her red-lined eyes, he scooted a little closer and peered down at her fluffy sprawl on the bed. That looked comfy. He sat down on the very corner and drew one leg up, watching her with bright eyes.
His eyes were wrong. His words were wrong. His smell was... close-ish, but wrong. And his hands were wrong. But none of that would be especially obvious to the stoned Queen, now would it? He felt quite lucky. Maybe he could ask her questions about some of the family he'd never met before and she wouldn't remember later? It kinda smelled like Midori in here. Except it also smelled like Bog. Huh.

Xiven stared at him blankly for a few moments as she processed the information. Rhi. Why was he looking for her? He knew better than she did where she would be. The woman pouted for a moment.
"You're mean," she said with a sniff as she grabbed the closet pillow. "I thought you were coming to visit me."
With a sad face she curled up around the pillow, doing her best to ignore him as he sat down on the bed. If he didn't want to be with her then there was no point in paying attention. Her tail would have twitched if it still existed. She missed her tail a lot of the time. Having something fluffy to hold when she was curled up in a ball was nice.
Why was he sitting on her bed if he wanted to talk to Rhi? She glanced out from under the pillow to look at him. Was something wrong? He smelled sort of funny. Not the normal sort of "funny" either.

Aww, she didn't say hi. Oh well. But then, but then she sniffed and turned away with a sad face! His eyes widened in alarm and he reached out to put a hand on her shoulder. That wasn't okay at all!
"Oh, no, heeeeey, nooooo, I'm here to see you. If you waaant me to visit, here I am! See? No upset." And why was he mean? Did he say something mean? He hadn't meant to. It wasn't right to be mean to people. Maybe this human guy didn't come and visit her enough. He pat her shoulder again and tried to figure out a way to make her smile.
"I can stay as looong as you want, alright? Cause I'm here now. And, uh, I won't leave until you saaay so. Okay? Say hi and smile?" He tried to encourage her with a smile of his own, teeth sharp like a goofy-looking hungry predator. He was used to smiling with a lot more of his mouth.

Weird. This was just all very weird. As Xiven continued to stare at him from under the pillow. Did he mean what he said? Was he really here asking about Rhi? If he was, why would he stay if he was looking for her? They were... they...
The woman puffed up slightly at the touch, even if the puff was a bit delayed because of her muddled reaction time.
"Humph!" she said after a few moments, throwing the pillow at the man. She bounced up to the sitting position. She grabbed him by the wrist and pulled herself closer to him. she was staring directly at his face, her eyes narrowed. "You're still being mean. Stop it," she said as if it was fact written in blood.
She let go of his wrist and flopped back on the bed. She curled up without the pillow this time, and proceeded to pout. She liked that pillow, but it was too far away now so she couldn't hug it like she wanted to. And she really wanted something to hug.
"I want a hug," Xiven announced with a frown.

She was still upset. Jak fretted and twitched and stared at her. Puffing up was a bad sign and his brother only did that when he was upset or scared. And she didn't look scared. She was upset and maybe angry. Because he was being mean?
He was so confused. And she smelled kind of funny, like Bog but not. It lingered in the whole room. Weird.
"I'm not tryyyying to be mean," he whined in Pale's voice, voice cracking towards the middle. She was upset. So he was upset! He had to find a way to make her happy again. Had to. He leaned back and forth, almost rocking, wanting to comfort but not wanting her to puff up anymore.
And then she asked for a hug. Perfect! He could do that easy! "Okay!" he agreed enthusiastically, flinging his arms around her curled, frowning form and squeezing for all he was worth.

Xiven was completely oblivious to the distress that the man was going through. She was, after all, in a completely different world. And as soon as she was being squeezed tight, nothing really mattered. A small purr bubbled up as she shifted in his arms to get more comfortable.
She proceeded to bury her face in his chest and purr. He didn't smell right though. That made her a little upset for a few moments of shifting around. And he was holding her a little tight. Her tail, if it was in proper order, would have been a good indication of her slight discomfort.
Instead she dug her nails into his back, pulling her face away from his chest to look up at him.
Something really was off. Not that she could place it. "Did you do something... different today?" she asked as she squinted at him, completely unaware that he wasn't Apocalypse.

She was purring! Yay! That was exactly the sort of thing he wanted! Amhal always purred when he was really happy and when Jak was doing the right thing. The purr of a cat was one of the most comforting things that he could possibly imagine. He let himself be lulled into a comfortable place of laying there and hugging her and happying. Her fur felt good and fluffy on human skin.
The nails made him jump and he looked down at her in surprise, the quizzical expression exaggerated on Pale's malleable features.
Huh. This was dangerous territory, wasn't it? He didn't want to get found out, not before he could locate Mom and Kieran and maybe a few other people. Really, he'd rather not get found out at all. Hmm.
But she was family somehow, he knew that much. He'd watched her. And so he felt more comfortable around her, and a lot less threatened than he otherwise would. He smiled and shrugged as best he could with his arms around her. "Probably," he agreed with a happy grin. "Do you like it?"

"Pffffft," she said after a moment. "No, I don't like it. Don't do whatever you did ever again."
She shifted in his grip, snuggling a bit closer to him. She wanted to bury her face his his chest, but the smell was still a bit bothersome. It wasn't like it was supposed to be. The woman's nose wrinkled with frustration as she glared at the man through squinted eyes.
There was something else different, but she couldn't place it. Weird.
"Why are you here anyway?" she asked after a few moments of blankly staring up at him. Had he said that before? She didn't think so. No... wait. He wasn't here to see her right? That was why she had been pouting in the first place. So the question still needed to be asked. Why exactly was he here? Did he need something important from her? Or had he actually come to keep her company?
If that was the case Xiven would probably "thank him" in all sorts of ways.
