The tongue was cool and distracting, but only for a second. Jak wiggled a little until his brother said he wouldn't scream. He was so excited for this, and for seeing Kieran at all, and he really didn't get to show many people this trick. It was the best trick he'd ever seen anyone do.
Keeping his red eyes wiiiiide open, Jak-Pale's human body slowly blurred in a disconcerting meld of shape and color, expanding and distorting magically. It wasn't the easiest thing to watch. And his eyes, which would have stayed the same in any other Joker, they became covered in goggles gunked with a waxy substance, more of the same crusted down his muzzle. The flaming eyeball sprouted into life over his head, body lengthening and furring and breathing through its emerging pipes. Bones rattled as tails sprouted from his rump. Claws elongated hugely.
Darling Jakkaboo was a bizarre beast as he stared at his brother, mouth gaping open with a grin as air whistled and wheezed through his pipes. That one slightly bent one had never breathed the same after fighting with Dell.
"Ta-da," he said with a grin that literally split his face.

Part of Kieran was excited, but most of him wasn't sure what to expect or even how to react to what could potentially happen. He had some notion that Jak was likely not going to look like Apocalypse for very much longer - and while that was a relief, it also gave his non-existent stomach a serious case of the flip-flops when he considered what that really meant.
When it came down to the actual event, there wasn't anything that he could have done to have prepared himself for it. The vague memories Kieran had of his brother's ability from before were clouded, in the strange half-vision of his childhood. Not the crisp, stereoscopic view he had now, of every detail shifting and blurring and changing. And oh, did his brother change. Some parts were familiar - the white skin sprouting white fur with bright aspects, the strange placement of limbs, even the too-wide mouth and the almost frightening breathing tubes.
But some of it was new. New, unnerving, and just plain weird. Kiernan sucked in a odd sounding breath through his actual mouth, the noise accompanied by a quiet mental gasp. Some of his eyes glanced away, looking anywhere but at his brother, but the majority of them were just as focused as before.
All doubt was gone. This was Jak, Jakodi, his brother. The brother he'd thought dead for so long. Kieran made a quiet and whimpering noise, then rushed forward, pressing his face against the other man's chest. "Oh, God, it's really you. I... you...[/b]" He made that weird double-gasping sound again, his ears flattening against his neck as his mind raced with thoughts. "I - you have to take me with you. Sa's dead, and mom's... I don't want to be here anymore, not when I know you and Amhal are still out there and alive. Please, Jak. Take me with you.[/b]"

This was exactly what Jak wanted. The shock was nothing new and it didn't bother him, he just let it pass like something inevitable. But the hug. And the gasping. And the words. They were everything he wanted. His bizarrely-shaped arms went around his brother, front paws twisting to wrap him in an approximation of a hug. Even if his limbs didn't want to bend like bipedal arms, it was still unmistakably a hug.
"Oh, it's meeeee alright. Nobody but meeee can do this. That I ever met. And not into this. That I ever met." He rested his head on his brother's, the eyeball floating above his head a hot reminder of the strangeness near him.
Then he jerked his head back to stare at Kieran. "Oh. Oh yeeeees, you are coming with me and that is it! We have a house in the Capital that Graaaampa helped us get and it's small but I know it could hold all of us cause we're brothers and you don't take up that much space even with all the extra wings and it wouldn't matter anyway because you're our brother and we loooove you!"
Receiving the approximation of another bone-cracking hug, Jak jerked backwards and changed into a more socially acceptable form. Corvie ferret with an angler dangler. Then he went with his brother to finish up any last-minute business and left the flowery place.
