It as impossible. Unlikely. A dream. But it was real. He had finally found her. After all that time of searching and hopelessness he had found her. He had found her completely by accident while trying to acquire more leveret. Just about nothing could wipe the smile off his face as he stood in front of her door. He had personally prepared a room for her. And he had sent out the leverets to fetch some fire proof fabrics so she would be more comfortable with the environment. Everything had to be perfect. Though there was the mild nagging terror in the back of his mind. What if she didn't like him anymore? What would he do? He had Seena and Rhosyn and his sister. He had plenty of positive women in his life. So if Igni rejected him now he had plenty of people to fall back on. But he loved her. She was his first love. One of the reasons why he had become a Jack. And if he was rejected he knew something would be crushed. The smile was still on his face when he knocked on the door. He waited for a response before he entered the room.

So much had changed. So very much, and in so short a time. Igni's life was a whirlwind, and she hadn't been sure what to think or hope or even to do with herself in - oh, White Rabbit, it felt like it had been years. There had been Vikenti. That had been pleasant enough, even if she'd known she wasn't the favorite. She was comfortable there and knew she would get exactly the attention she needed, even if not a drop more. Besides that, she had her own secret pleasure in that Warren. Sometimes, she blamed that pleasure on what had happened next, even if she'd never acted on her feelings. Dorian's warren had also been fine, but... There, she felt like a curiosity: Something to be looked at, maybe even admired from afar, but touched only on the rarest of occasions. Beyond that, the heat had been almost unbearable. Worst of all, there had been no Heike to make her laugh, to ease the loneliness she sometimes felt. She had almost lost hope - until that day that word had come to her that an (handsome, by all accounts) Avington Jack had arrived at the Warren. Seeking Does. Seeking her. It had seemed like a dream, then, but here she was - safe in her new home, one that felt far more promising than any other. Igni sat at the edge of her bed, nervously stroking her ears with a paw, making sure for the fifth (fortieth, it felt like) time that her fur was in-line and shining. He would be here any moment, and she wanted him to know that this... This meant something to her. More than she could say. At the sound of a knock, she raised her head, blinking rapidly. " Y-yes? Please come in![/b]"

For a moment the rabbit's hand hovered above the doorknob. He had clearly heard her voice say that he could enter, and yet he was still hesitating. Perhaps it was because he didn't want the fairy tale to end? It could easily end with his heart being torn out of his chest.
But she was Igni. She was one of the reason why he was standing on two legs at this very moment. So even if she did reject him he would always have those precious moments he had spent with her as a leveret. And she had seemed to be delighted by his appearance in her old warren.
Brushing all the negative thoughts to the side he opened the door. His expression was cheerful, when he saw the flaming Doe sitting on the edge of her bed. "So, how do you like your new room, Igni? I tried to remember a few of your favorite things from back then."
It wasn't the most elegant way to start a conversation, but it was as good as any.
