Rosemary was probably on the list of the worst parents ever. At the moment she could have cared less as she walked down the sidewalk with her children. Two of her seemingly growing collection of children. As much as she adored children for all they stood for, she had never really wanted any of her own. And she was half tempted to pawn of the two sprog following her with Sage. But of course that required going all the way to the Court of Clubs. Josephine padded far behind her mother. She watched the various people on the street who glanced at the moving text on her mother's coat. They all stood out like a sore thumb amongst the crowd. The little girl glanced over to her sister. "Do you think we can ditch Mom for a bit without her noticing?"Even if her sister said no, she was going to try to wander off without getting caught.

Saffron toddled along behind her mother and sister, looking down at the ground as she walked. People always stared at them, the odd trio. The Mother with the odd scrawling markings that were not Villa and her indeterminable Realm. Her sister, the Bog mix, an oddity all on its own. Then there was Saffron herself, who was just plain goofy-looking. She looked up only when Josephine spoke. "Hmm? M-m-maybe... b-but wouldn't w-we get in trouble?" she whispered back, casting a quick glance up at Rosemary.

"Tsch," Josephine said with a snort. Of course it sounded odd because of the way she actually breathed, but she had learned how to make it sound proper. Her tail flopped as she glanced at her mother.
She didn't seem to notice the sound.
In actuality she had, she was just pretending not to hear them. Her children's voices stood out amongst all of the random chatter. And really she wouldn't particularly mind if the girls ran off. As long as they didn't get caught doing something bad and she had to clean up the mess. Of course she wasn't going to say something like that because they would probably encourage them to flaff off more often.
"We'll be back before Mom notices we're gone. Anyway, we already know where we're going so we can meet here there. We said we would if we got lost... and we can just say we got lost." The wolf skipped a step and reached out to tug on her siblings wing.

Saffron made a strange noise somewhere in between a yelp and a growl in surprise at having her wings tugged. She quickly shut her mouth, looking up wide-eyes at her mother. Would that call attention to them? Would they be able to slip away unnoticed now? No reaction from Mom. Good. Wait good? Did she even want to sneak away? She ruffled her wings when Josephine released the one she grabbed.
"Well, uh... I guess," she whispered, "Where could we go?" She looked around. What was interesting around here? She couldn't remember exactly where everything was. She usually let other people lead her to where they wanted to go.

"Somewhere that isn't staring at Mom's tail. Come one, there's a candy shop around here that we can at least browse at. If we look cute enough I'm sure we could get them to give us some." Josephine said as she slowed her pace and started heading in the direction of the candy shop.
Rosemary should have glanced back, but she decided that maybe she should let the girls explore for a bit. She could always switch to her animal form and blend in with the crowd... a little bit more. She was probably fooling herself, but she could try.
Josephine eagerly ushered her sibling to the shop. It was a nice little place that was clearly designed with bright colors to attract children. The little girl's tail started to wag as they got closer. "Come one, let's go!" she said cheerfully as she glanced over her shoulder. Their mother seemed to be out of hearing range and she still hadn't noticed that they were gone.
Herm. Maybe she was letting them get away?

Candy. Candy was good. Mom didn't care for giving them too much unless they were about to be released on other people and out of Mom's hair. She felt herself salivate a little at the sight of the bright colors and smell of sugar. Her tail wagged in excitement, even though her body was resisting being pushed along. It was that goody two-shoes instinct that made her apprehensive, when though... CANDY! She took a dramatic bound forward, only to immediately resume her uncertainty of disobeying the rules. She let out a few Canine whimpers when Jo verbally egged her on, her tail wagging excitedly all along despite her apprehensions. With a jerking pace, she made her uncertain trek behind Josephine, casting many glances back toward her seeming oblivious mother. She was shaking by the time she stepped through the door of the shop, but oh!
Dozens of children dragging less than excited-looking parents around the colorful store. Streamers of sour salt-and-sugar covered candy strips curled in their container. Buckets brimming with bright shapes assorted by color and flavor lined the walls. Bags with pictures of smiling Card children hung from hooks on the wall. Candy sold by weight, the consumer cluelessly mixing them all in the same bag and caught to pay the amount at the end, unable to separate the candy morsels to put them back. Saffron soon found herself forgetting her worries.
"I knew it! I knew it was a great idea!" she exclaimed, bouncing up and down.

She knew her sibling would make the right choice.
As soon as she stepped through the threshold of the brightly colored candy store, her tail started to wag uncontrollably. It was far more crowded than she anticipated. Then again she wasn't the master of planning at her age.
"Yep! I have the best ideas!" she said cheerfully as she pranced with an air of victory around her.
They did have a bit of money so... they weren't completely helpless. They could get Candy. Mom would be upset when they got back, but it would totally be worth it. The little wolf wandered over to the candy ribbons. Could she get away with stealing? No. Especially not with her sister around.
Though she had broken one rule, it might be easy to slip another one by her. Being bad was more fun than being good.
"Do you want anything?" She might as well be a good sister and ask. Saffron had gone along with the plan, and both of them getting in trouble without Mom around to save them wouldn't end well, fun or no.
