Ugh, she hated the smell of rosemary. It reminded her too much of the home that was hers no longer, thanks to her accursed brother, may he burn in hell forever. It was why she was so loathe to use that spice in her cooking, so when McDuck demanded it, she'd be sure to spit in his soup. But she smiled cheerfully at Menefer. "Oh, I love those smells," she lied, ending the words with a slight purr. Her tail twitched, and she listened with interest as the anger colored the Torque's voice again. Voodoo magic? How intriguing. She thought of the weathered old skull she had squirreled away in her private quarters at home.
"Well, that's very unkind of him, to brag about such a thing!" Mrs. White cried, looking earnestly at Menefer. "Not to mention cooking isn't something that can make form changes come about, that I've ever heard...I mean, my employer has his Biped, and he wouldn't know a wooden spoon from a metal whisk, or what to do with either." She fluttered her eyelashes. "Meaning no disrespect to him, of course! He's a wonderful employer." I hate his guts, she seethed inwardly, annoyed that even here, far away from the fool, she still felt compelled to pretend to like him. To pretend that Scrooge was somewhat worthwhile as a being.
She paused when he did, blinking large, solicitous eyes at him. Oho, so that was how it was? She glanced at the wound on his paw, noticing that it was now oozing. Well, that couldn't be healthy at all! The thought gave her utter delight, though she didn't want him to lose his job...Why not? Think of how much sorrow he'd have then! The pain of it! The humiliation! Yes, but then he couldn't buy her pretty things any longer. One paw made an aborted motion to reach for her necklace.
"Menefer, dear...one moment," she said in a rush, and hurried down a nearby alley. Finding someone's sheet drying on the line, she ripped a piece off from one, feeling rather amused at the situation. She padded back out to Menefer and carefully wrapped the white cloth around his paw. "There...it should stop bleeding in a moment, dear," she told him. Of course she was the one that had to help him. Useless man didn't even know how to bandage a wound? Despite having been on the road most of his life?

((O.o Didn't realize it was this big, XD... sorry.))
Menefer let the subject die on its own, after all it sounded like she had already wrapped it up by showing how one person was mean and how the other was nice, even if they didn't have their human form. So he guessed that it was ok, that people were different no matter what they exterior looked like. He couldn't help himself but to smile as she cleared it up for him. How very nice of her to make more since of his life than he was able to do on his own. Even the small joke that she had made was quite amusing that made him laugh a bit out loud causing his paw to ache at the jostling.
When she disipeared did he wonder where she went and so he took a seat at a near by bench, to wait for her. I would wait for her... no mater how long it takes... one day... just one. I wish to be the one for her, he thought to himself with a bit of a smile left on his face, not even really noticing when she got back because his eyes were half closed. When she spoke though and told him to hand her his paw did he obey without question and let her tend to his wound, hoping that she wouldn't get any of his blood on her beautiful white coat.
There was blood on her coat as it was... and it was his... her back paw had some on it and it made him a bit light headed. Oh how stupid I can be! I must fix this somehow.
"Oh thank you so much Nel, I don't know what I would do without you." he stated as he slid down from the bench. "So, my apartment is two flights up and at the end of the hall, not to many people stay on that level, since most can afford the much more lavish rooms further up the building." he said as he entered with her in tow into the main lobby of the hotel, he smiled at the door man and nodded to the person behind the desk as he made his way to the stairs.
The room was at the very end of the hallway on the second flight of stairs, which he made up with little to no damage to his paw, and to the left. It had a elegantly carved number of twenty eight on the door as he sat down on his haunches to find the key in his bag that he carried around with his uninjured paw.
Inside the room was very sparse. There was a table in the middle, two chairs a kitchen to the right that was fully stocked of anything a cook could ever have want for (most of his paycheck goes into it), and to the left was the restroom and bed room. The place wasn't decorated much save for a bookcase that held hundreds of cook books, most from other regions and famous chefs.
He turned to her, "Welcome to my apartment, I hope that it doesn't trouble you... knowing that you work for one of the richest people in all the regions must mean you have a lavish rooms, no?" he said as he moved to the bath room to start unwrapping the bandage that she had placed so he could wash the wound and use the medicines that he had gathered over his travels. He knew how to bandage himself up, knew how to properly medicate his wounds and burns, it was just something that he had to know if one traveled on the roads... luckily for him though, he hadn't never came into a fight, and when he did he would just offer to cook for them, using one of his spells on the toughest person there to make him hungry enough to eat instead of pillage.

Despite her bitter inner thoughts, the Feline smiled widely at Menefer, eyes gleaming, as he thanked her. At least HE was properly grateful for her efforts, unlike some other Cards she wouldn't mention! "Oh, how sweet of you," she sighed, falling into step behind him and walking gracefully into the building. So he did live in a hotel? Well, at least his room would be classy, then. That was something to look forward to, even if it probably would feature a ridiculous number of cooking implements. How could someone love such a grating, thankless task? Then again...Menefer was quite simple minded.
"Oh, I hope the stairs won't be a problem for you," she said, inflecting false worry into her tone as she eyed those steps. She could picture him falling down those stairs...pushed, perhaps? His eyes would widen in shock and pain in the instant where his large body was suspended in mid air...right before the impact shattered his skull. But no...there was too high a chance that the fall would kill him, and she wasn't yet bored enough of this new toy to do such a thing.
She kept all her delightfully gruesome thoughts to herself as she followed him, a bit miffed that he barely even stumbled once. Of course, once she got to the room and he opened the door for her, she forgot all about that small annoyance. It was a bit sparse of a room from what she'd like, except for the kitchen, of course, just as she'd surmised, but it was still far bigger than what she had back at home. "Ah, if only it were that way," she sighed, looking wistfully around at all the space. Perhaps she could convince Menefer to indulge in a bit more furniture? Why bother? Blood makes a good decoration on clean white walls...
"I only have a simple room at home...Mr. McDuck doesn't like to expend money if he can help it, even in taking care of his servants." The greedy bastard. She let a paw fly to her mouth, eyes darting back and forth, as if ashamed. "I...mean no disrespect to him of course..." The rotter. "He just...doesn't see the necessity of such things...but when I used to live with my husband in the Wood I..." She trailed off and cast her gaze at the ground, as if it were a difficult subject. She tailed behind him, slowly as if uncertain, as he moved toward the bathroom to clean his wound and...begin rebandaging it? Then why in the name of the Queens of Tulgey had he been acting so helpless before? UGH! Men!

((O.o I thought I responded to this already, sorry for the large delay))
Menefer looked up at her as she spoke, he felt kinda bad about how Mr. McDuck treated her. You would think that someone of that wealth would do something to better help those around him. Wasn't it only fair for the really rich to help out those that are in need? Let alone those that work for you. He gave a mental shrug as he thought about this. May'haps it was just because people were different.
He snapped out of his thoughts as he heard her speak of the Wood.
"I'd invite you here, but that means you would have to travel to work each day..." he trailed off on the end... realizing that he had asked her to move in. How stupid was he!? He just turned back to the washing of the wounds noticing that it was only a small flesh would where his bone had ruptured the skin. Nothing was broken, so everything was good.
He turned back to her seeing the face that she had made when she entered watching him working on his injured paw. "I... Did a lot of traveling... and I had to fix some of my injuries that I had sustained on the roads. Sorry about before... asking you to do something when I could have... I just didn't have anything to wrap it with... I was kinda out of options, though it was lucky of you to find this cloth laying about." he said as he started to bandage it up in clean linen.

Surprisingly, Mrs. White was actually tempted by Menefer's offer. Living in the Capital again...not having to see that horrid Duck all the time, but only when she was working. Then again...she was usually working. And when she was off, she was here in the Capital. And if she was living with Menefer, he might get curious about where she went late at night sometimes...
A look of sadness that wasn't entirely fake made its way onto her lovely features. "I'm sorry, dear...thank you for the offer, but I can't." She shook her head, manufacturing a few tears for dramatic effect. "I...I just can't. Please..." She looked up at him, pleading...trying to milk this situation for all she was worth. Really, she wasn't as sad as all that, in the end. After all, if she spent so much time around the Torquehelm, she'd tire of him all the faster.
And now...he was offering an explanation? Had she let some of her disgust show on her face? Usually she was better about keeping that all internal. She forced a watery smile through the crocodile tears. "Oh, Menefer...you know I'm always happy to help! It's fine!" she said, tail swishing as she lied through her teeth. She snickered internally at his mention of how lucky it was she'd found the cloth just 'laying around', this time double checking to make sure her 'proper' expression stayed in place. He was so naive!

Menefer finished with his bindings, rather funny way of thinking like that..., and tried his paw on the sink and found it suitable for a bit of weight. He would be hopping around a bit, but nothing too bad. He listened to what she said and nodded briefly... Maybe I'm trying to move to fast? he questioned himself as he shook his head trying to loosen the thought. So he moved from the sink and down to the floor where she was waiting.
"I am sorry for asking... I know I was out of line there to ask such of a thing of you. I could only hope right?" he asked with a large smile on his face, one of those where you kinda close your eyes while doing it. He looked back and realized that she stood in the doorway and that he couldn't get passed her even if he tried... it would be rather odd... being that close to her, and yet... he didn't want to ask her to move either, and that scent... what was it? He had to know.
"All day, I have smelled your perfume and I haven't been able to place the scent for the life of me... do tell me, please?" he asked giving a curious look with one eyebrow higher than the other.

Mrs. White shook her head, keeping her own teary smile in place. "N-not at all, Menefer, dear...thank you so very much for the offer! You have no idea how much it means to me..." It doesn't mean much of anything, really. I couldn't care less. Her tail waved lightly and she tilted her head, half lidding her eyes. She didn't actually realize she was blocking the doorway until he approached her a bit closer and got this -look- on his face. Ah...hah! She could certainly pretend she was still oblivious until he asked about it. A simple game, but possibly an amusing one for a few seconds.
And then he asked the question and she inwardly chuckled, while letting her eyes blinks in surprise and faking a large, beaming smile. "Oh, Menefer, you noticed?" she said breathlessly. "Why, it's the scent of a flower that grows only in the deepest, darkest places in Tulgey Wood. It's not something anyone outside of that place would ever recognize." It was also a mild narcotic, she'd found...though that effect was so far diluted in the perfume as to not even be noticed. Rare were the flowers that grew in the darkness of Tulgey, anyway...and this one especially so. Her family had taken great pride in the fact that they alone knew where a large patch of them grew, and she still remembered how to get to that spot.

((Three more posts and we have 100!!! ^_^ I love Nats Items!))
He just smiled and realized that she wasn't going to move just yet, so he would play this bit of a game as well. It sounded wonderful to him, and yet... this was hardly the place for romantic relations. He cocked his head to the side at hearing of a flower that grew in the Wood. It was ironic in its own since, and yet... it was just like her. She was like that one flower hidden among the dark branches to be found.
And I have found her... he thought as he drew a bit closer to take a deeper wiff of the smell to lock it in his memory, for it was... her scent.
"It smells divine, and no other could make it what it is." he said instead of some random rare plant that he found in the Torquehelm, for it always failed in comparison to whatever she had. Everything was inferior to her superiority.
He drew away from her slightly, "Would you like to retire in the living room while I cook up some rather tasty snacks." he said as he gave her a saucy wink.

As Menefer drew closer, Mrs. White made sure to lean forward a little, too, making the movement look unintentional. Their faces were so close her whiskers brushed his, and she could feel his breath when he spoke. She chuckled, a small, light sound. "Why, thank you, Menefer. You flatter me!" she practically purred, picking up one black-tipped paw to brush against him. If she had known what Menefer was thinking, it would have amused her that he was so utterly traditional in his thinking. She'd had 'romantic relations' in far sketchier places in the past than the bathroom of a clean and tidy apartment.
She drew back when he did, blinking large, yellow eyes at him...for they -had- changed their color over the past few minutes as the sun fell below the horizon. Oh, I'd love to retire, if only it were possible, she thought bitterly, purposefully misconstruing his words. Aloud, she only said. "Whatever you wish, dear," and giggled at his wink. She turned to move gracefully toward the living room, fluffy tail brushing the Torque as she went.

Oh my what was he going to cook, everything that she said and did just seemed to have its toll on the man. he couldn't help but feel powerless on her ability to manipulate his feelings and leave him speachless with just the mere touch of her tail on him. This, however, made him wonder what would happen if they ever made love?
At that he blushed and hurried into the kitchen and kept himself busy on making some finger foods so that they could eat something, and maybe some wine or cider? he just couldn't decide and decided that some small snacks of small ham sandwiches that looked like small triangles without the crusts and the obvious seafoods with different dipping sauces.
It had taken him two trips to get all the food out for her and himself, and with that being done did he sit next to her giving her a gesture with his paw. "All prepared for you with the divine smell and looks." he said at his own attempt on flattery.
