This was ... nerve wracking to say the least. Here she was with just her brother in the Capital ... in the middle of the day. She felt horribly awkward out here in front of all the strangers and the more that looked their way the more nervous she became. Crowds weren't really her thing, nut what really got to her was how people looked at her brother. He looked normal to her, but his appearance was precisely why they weren't supposed to be out here. On of the cards passing them by on the street stopped in her tracks and let a gasp escape her muzzle before she spotted the young mixes suit and rank markings. This made Yantai's fur bristled a bit and her long tail stiffen. Mozi .... can we please go home now? Haven't we been out long enough today? Emozione on the other hand, had grown completely oblivious to the stares and gasps of passersby. Or, well... he acted like it didn't bother him at least. Thorns and aphids .... he wanted to go out and be normal and go to town during the day like everyone else. Or, at least, he was told it was daytime and that most 'normal' cards were out and about during this time. Which seemed true enough ... there were crowds and tons of stranger, colorful cards running about their lives. And of course one overly protective, jumpy sister who insisted on accompanying him out in the big bad world. Oh please Tai, let me have my fun and don't report me to our oh sooooooo scary warden of a mother? Please? The sarcasm in his tone was as easy to read as the little grin that touched the edges of his beak. He needed some exercise and she needed a chill pill ... nothing new really.

[XD Nephy demanded. His mom tagged along.] The trip to the capital had been fueled mostly by Nephy's inconsolable wailing. The Court library had lacked the third book in a small series he was desperately interested in, and the news had so devastated him that he had refused to eat lunch and steadfastly informed his mother that if he didn't get book three soon, he would die. His mother had clearly not bought into his hyperbole, but he had secured himself a jaunt to the city, the first one he could really remember, and now he had his book in hand--or bag, rather. Now he was babysitting Mama as she investigated surgical equipment, though this made him somewhat nervous. Madame Mnem kept talking about chopping him up. Mama always told her no, but what if she gave in? Nephy didn't want any of his bits to go missing. "Mama," he said, feeling a little green about knives, "I'm gonna get some air." "Five minutes, Nephy!" his mama said, with cheerful distraction, and Nephy wasn't sure whether she meant he could step out in five minutes or that he had five minutes to return, but he liked the second one better, so he decided that one was true. And what luck! Immediately, something interesting. A pair of kids! He guessed they were playmates--other than Club markings, they looked nothing alike. "Hi!" he said.

At the little greeting the Avington snapped his attention right to the yarrow boy. Finally, someone interesting, er .. .well, someone that decided to come over and talk instead of just gawk really.
He perked up his ears and grinned before turning his body to the brightly hued, fluffy tailed fellow while his sister twitched her ears back and twitched her whiskers a bit until she got a good look at the incoming stranger ... then she relaxed a bit and perked her little rat ears up curiously. Could anything those colors, all that fluff and, well, cuteness possibly be dangerous? She really couldn't bring herself to believe it and flashed Nephy a shy little smile as well.
Mozi twitched his little feathered tail excitedly before speaking, the wide grin never leaving his face.
Hello, hello ... how do you do? I'm Emozione and this is Yantai ... Mozi and Tai if you so desire .... what's up?
Tai couldn't help but roll her eyes at her brother .... he always talked way more to new people .... made her think he might really be nervous as well but just hid it better. She, however, remembered her manners a bit more and dipped her head politely before speaking softly.
Yes, how do you do this afternoon?

These children were unusually polite. Nephy decided he liked it. It made him feel important or something. Mostly with his own siblings, Sophy was off creeping on people somewhere and Medea just demanded things of him--not that he wasn't willing to do her bidding, he liked his sisters and wanted to help them any way he could, even by doing all their geography homework, but it wouldn't hurt to be treated like it was appreciated every once in a while, would it?
Though they were only five still. There was plenty of time to develop those kinds of...manners?
"I'm well," he said, tearing himself away from his thoughts. "Just keeping an eye on my mama while she does a bit of shopping. She forgets things sometimes." Like where she was, what she was doing, what Sophy's name was...Though that seemed mostly to happen when she was involved in work-related things. Like now. He eyed the door of the shoppe, imagining the sharp, sharp knives. "Um. Where are your mamas?"

Manners and etiquette were things they had started to learn before they could talk, Tavor and Ilana both wanted nothing more then polite, well mannered children that stayed out of trouble. Well, they'd gotten ... most of that. Mozi had a bit of a wild, destructive side to him that came out sometimes ... but he was still good at heart... at least Yantai was certain of it. She'd seen him in the garden tiptoeing so not to disturb the flower petals or the lady bugs. She was also certain he didn't know she caught that ... it would probably embarrass the feathers off his tail if he did.
They're back at home working on the garden. We don't live too far from here.
Yantai's ears and whiskers twitched, they weren't supposed to let strangers know they were out alone .... papa had insisted on that. But, well... her brother was just a little too trusting, or bold, to really have that sink in fully it seemed. And, well... he looked a little harmless.... whatever.
We can go to this shop area and the park as long as we don't go out alone.
Just to make their parents look better; they were wonderful and she loved them .... she didn't want anyone thinking they were awful, she'd added that in for good measure.

He liked the sound of a park. Mostly because he had never really been to one, as such. He usually just paraded around the palace and used whatever convenient outdoor furniture he could find as props in his imaginary adventures. Most of which involved attempting to crudely act out scenes from his books. He looked at the two other children. Perhaps they might be interested in becoming players in the ongoing Nephy Theatre Project.
"Is the park really close?" he asked, curiously. He could always leave a note for Mama, or simply ask permission. He wanted to cultivate and maintain a reputation as the Good Child. Comparatively speaking, anyway. With Medea under Mad Madame Mnem's tutelage and Sophy off doing creepy Sophy things, he suspected he might be the only one of his siblings who was not actually on his way to being evil and/or insane.

Emozione looked at his sister, blinking those gray eyes of his. He really wasn't great with directions.... she was though. Instead he busied himself with looking around at all the people of the 'daytime', and then up at the sky. He still couldn't quite believe there was such a thing as day and night, not when it all just... looked exactly the same. But at the same time it felt highly illogical that the entirety of Wonderland would have a strict bedtime that everyone was supposed to adhere too. It made his brain hurt something fierce.
Yantai watched her brother before flicking an ear back and biting a sigh. He was such a space case she was quite surprised he hadn't made it to the moon by now!
She looked back to Nephy and smiled, shaking her head a bit and pointing out the direction with one of those slender deer limbs.
It's about a block that way and around the corner. It should be great this time of day.If you need to ask someone if you can go with us, we'll gladly wait.
Her whiskers twitched a bit as she watched him with a pleasant smile, her brother still staring at things... building now, or maybe the reflections on the windows?

"I'll be right back!" he said, and scurried back into the shop to tell his mother that his five minutes was going to look a lot like a couple of hours. His mother was muttering lovingly to some intensely sharp object. He tugged on one of her tentacles. She twitched and glanced down at him and said, "Oh that's right, I brought you with me, are you having fun?" and Nephy said, "Mom, it is imperative that you guard my book while I have an adventure."
"I have adventures sometimes," Thalia said, thoughtfully. "Mostly imaginary, though sometimes I'm gone for days." She took his book bag. "While you're frolicking, find me a test subject, would you, I'm running terribly low..."
Test subjects? His mother was so odd sometimes. "Sure thing, Mom. I'll meet you back here in a while, okay?"
"I'll find you when the time is right," she said, cryptically, and turned back to her tools. Nephy stared at her a moment longer and, content that his mother was not going to get into trouble without him, went back out to his fellow children.
"All clear," he said. "Lead the way."
