Guess who just got a new, quasi-important job?
That's right, me! It does mean more $$, it's a step up in the world, so to speak, but also involves 4 hours a day commuting in and out of the city, and very much limits my free time. It is a self proclaimed "high pressure, fast paced" position.
So I will try to still rp, but who knows what will happen... Also I'm probably not going to be able to go to Otakon after all since I'll be starting the job just a few weeks before then, and I only have 5 vacaction days for the year, and I kinda of think I shouldn't take them all in the 1st month of working, right?
I'm really nervous about the new job after being out of work so long, and it also means I'm going be be staying here on the East Coast indefinately, which I'm sure my bf is not happy about since he wants me to move closer to him. Which is what I want too, but I couldn't move without money, no money without job... etc.
So um, not sure what my point is, but yeah. New job?

Well with any luck I'll be able to take the commuter train, which may or may not have wi-fi at least some of the time. I may buy a netbook and use that time to get more work done, or maybe to post on SoD! Another thought is getting a DS lite or PSP or something for the ride. Or just read, the obvious answer, lol. It's gonna be like 20 mine drive to the train + 90 min train ride + 10 min subway ride + 3 minute walk So at least for part of it I can be doing something else.

Oh, that's good news! XD All I could think of was my two-and-a-half hour drive to Portland to visit my mother, in which I nearly die of boredom even with an iPod and transmitter. I highly recommend both the DS and the netbook, if you can afford either of them. 8DDD My Pokeymans have saved my brain cells on multiple trips, and Dark has an Acer netbook that works very well! (It even runs WoW!) It's unbelievable how light that thing is compared to my beast of a laptop. XDDD *babbles at you more! *

Ah, I fully understand the commute thing. XD I had a long commute to and from my old job, by bus. In the morning I would usually sleep during it, but in the afternoon I'd generally read. Though a DS is also a very good idea, as is a laptop. :3 Many a long car ride has been made more bearable by iPods, laptops, and, yes...Pokemon. XD;;

I thought my hour commute was bad... yikes! The iPod and book-of-the-moment usually accompanies me, unless I'm have a walking-dead day, and then I just try not to fall asleep on the train... haha. Anyway, mucho congratulations on your new job!!! It may be tough at first, but once you get that first paycheck... alll riiiiight. hehe. Hope it works out well for you!
