"Oh, really now? Perhaps dey were Morganberries getting their just desserts for tryin' to buy our land again last week." It wasn't often that Zuberi actually liked to... encourage Uluani's dark behavior, but Zuberi had to admit she wouldn't have been too heartbroken to see that Morganberry feline crumble down within the walls of his wealth and greed. The corner of her mouth gave a bit of a twitch before she resumed rowing with her good hand.
"I tried makin' a boat!" Davy proclaimed loudly, though his face fell immediately after. "It did'na float, though." Or perhaps Uluani loosened the rope that was holding the sticks together when he was not looking, but he really wouldn't waste his time pointing fingers. Oftentimes mamma got so tired of hearing their bickering that she'd just say that they were -both- in trouble.
They were probably out far enough now; she didn't want to get so far out and find themselves caught up in the storm if it decided to double back. "Alright lovies... throw the anchor over for mommy? Mind the rope so it doesn't snatch ye down." Ah, learning started early for seafaring Midori! That, and Zuberi's hand made a lot of things difficult; over all these years she hadn't been able to find a single person who could fix it. The best she could do was wrap the split finger so that it didn't hang oddly.

The crabs did have red on them. And some blue. They must have been Morganberries! Maybe Mamma turned them into little crabs and she just hadn't told anyone, and that was why she looked a little bit amused at the thought.
Ooooooh. Mamma could be tricky sometimes. Uluani loved the idea.
She quite deliberately didn't say anything when Davy talked about his boat, not wanting to get in trouble with the whole day of catching delicious sea critters ahead of them, and hopped over to the anchor as soon as she mentioned it. Perfect distraction! Except her foot did catch on the rope when she hopped, so she took a second untangling it with her wing blocking the view so Mamma wouldn't see and chide her. At least she noticed before they moved the thing.
"Ready, Mamma!" Waiting for her brother to signal that he was ready - teamwork was fine when they had to do something like this - she activated her strength ability and hefted it over the side.
Way over the side.
Oops. Maybe the ability had been overkill. She'd never tried it before and figured it would just make it easier. With a sheepish grin, she hopped back over to Zuberi and half got in the way in her eagerness to 'help' with whatever came next. The sooner they got it in, the sooner they could eat!
