Felaria's face went from indignant to blank to confused as hell within the span of about two seconds. That wasn't possible. There'd never been a person she just... couldn't see before, had there? Harold had never mentioned anything about things like that and she'd never seen him talking to no one before. No one, who could see her. Sheeyut.
"How come he kin see me an' I can't see him, the lil' bitch? 'Gentleman' my ass." she snapped testily before realizing that was a dick move and Harold wouldn't know the answer. She grimaced and took a step closer to him, running a phantom hand along his hair. "Sorry, baby, didn' mean that at you. I know you don' know. But why you tellin' him my name? You think he kin help somehow?" She doubted it, but her Harold knew a lot more about those things than she did. If he thought this weirdo could help, she would try to cooperate with him for Harold's sake. Even if she couldn't see him.

Javaid was always thankful for distractions, but distractions like this were of a different category all together. It didn't even matter that he was inviting strangers, Outsiders, into his home - this man could see ghosts, or perhaps just a ghost and he was willing to talk about it. If this was a haunting then he'd have a wealth of information to add to his studies... This was amazing.
It took careful control to keep from smiling while watching the ghost woman's frustration, he wasn't at all happy to see her so frustrated but he did so enjoy the sight of their interaction. He'd never witnessed a proper haunting of a ghost lingering with a person... Wonderful, just wonderful.
"Harold, Felaria - It's a pleasure to meet you both, even if it seems she can't see me." The jackal grinned, blue eyes bright. "If you're ready, we can go rest in my temple to talk... I'd be happy to write things down for her benefit, if you think she'd appreciate that."

Harold's face suddenly looked like he had been hit square in the face by the butt of a rifle at Felaria's comment. He turned to face her, still looking rather pathetic as she spoke to him. She may not have meant it, but it had caught him completely off guard. After a moment he nodded and almost whispered, "Yes, I think he can help us..."
He sighed as he looked at the man in front of him. The Queen of Spades seemed rather nice despite the entire weird situation. Harold awkwardly shifted, wishing that he could actually feel Felaria's touch rather than the illusion of such.
He was terribly unsure of the idea of going some place with this man. What if something went wrong? But... this was the only lead they had. "All... all right. And I'm not sure if that would make her all that happy. Do you know why she can't see you?"

(Jenn has asked me to skip her this time around~)
Though Javaid was surprised by Harold's sudden switch in expressions, he never showed any such surprise. Instead he waited patiently until the distress seemed to ease up between the man and his lady haunt and Harold had once again turned to acknowledge him. Inclining his head slightly, he motioned for Harold to follow him and began the short walk up the path to his temple.
Harold's question pulled a small sigh from Javaid and a frown briefly tugged at the jackal's features. "I sincerely wish I did, but I've yet to understand why... or to find a way to remedy it. There is a ghost on these grounds and though I've spent a great many years trying to discover a way to communicate with him I've yet to find anything of use to me. I suppose it is simply a draw back to my ability, but seeing alone is better than nothing."
Arriving at the public area of the temple, Javaid motioned to the wide table in the center of the open room. It gave them a wide view of the surrounding necropolis but also a place to sit that was not too confined. "I have a library downstairs if you'd prefer the privacy, otherwise we can talk here. I assure you we'll have no interruptions, guests out here are extremely rare."

(( OOC: hope this is all right )) Harold was uncomfortable. There was no other word for it really. He still felt like he had been bitch slapped in the face by Felaria's remark. Not to mention the strange man wanted him to follow him without question. What if the Hisstor was going to do something to him when they reached this temple? What if he wasn't as friendly as he seemed. It was still difficult for Harold to trust anyone. After everything that had happened. How could he? His nails dug into his hands as he walked behind the Hisstor. No point in panicking considering he was the only possible lead they had. The room was open. Wide open and rather public. He had said there weren't that many people... but what if someone walked in on them. Then again was being alone with the man a good idea? Choices. Oh choices. "I think the library might be a better choice. I wouldn't want anyone to walk in on our discussion."

Javaid understood the paranoia of being overheard acutely. "Most people think I'm crazy for my research, it's refreshing to talk to someone with real experience with it." His tail swayed slightly as he moved away from the center of the room and beckoned them downstairs.
They would pass the spartan bedroom and straight through a wooden door into the short hall that lead into the open space of the library. The library itself was not grand, though it was a considerable size for an underground archive and the books, despite their age, were in meticulous condition. "The majority of the collection is records and history, but I have a private collection of occult." Pointing out the shelf in question, Javaid lit a lantern for his guest and motioned to one of the few 'comfortable' looking chairs in the room. It wasn't much, but it suited Javaid's ultimately solitary nature. "Go ahead and make yourself comfortable, feel free to browse the books, and I'll make us some tea."
(As with Kari, hope this is alright.<3)

Harold remained silent at the man's comment. Felaria was agitated and he was worried. What if this man couldn't help them? What if he was simply just a science experiment for the Hisstor? But this really was the only chance they had. No one openly studied occult, and he had never met anyone who could see Felaria.
It was a library, though small, the Esterberry felt a bit better about the situation. Strange how books could make him feel better, even if it was only a little bit. Felaria wasn't about to settle down and he wasn't about to be less twitchy.
He stared at the seats for a moment. Did he really trust this man? "You don't really have to trouble yourself with making tea," Harold finally said as he took a seat. "I don't want to waste your time, I just want to know if you can help us..."

It was a good thing that Felaria couldn't hear his offer to 'browse the books' or it would have set her off into a pissier mood than she already was, even though the statement was clearly directed towards Harold. An Esterberry. She was just terribly on edge and uneasy not knowing what was being said. She'd been a silent observer for so long that being forced back into that roll even a tiny bit rankled something fierce.
The place was weird-looking. Not the absolute weirdest that Harold had been in his search for answers about their predicament, but it ranked up there for sure.
"Careful how much y'tell 'im. Never know when somethin's gonna go screwy an' he wants t'use ev'rythin' y'said against us." She sent a dark look in the vague direction that Harold was facing, unable to so much as see the Hisstor. However the bastard was managing to do that.

Javaid had only taken a step toward the door when Harold insisted against the tea and he returned to his previous position by the table. He wasn't particularly accustomed to the company, or mannerisms, of strangers but he wasn't about to press if the man requested he stay instead of making tea.
Motioning for Harold to join him, Javaid pulled out a chair and settled at the small book-laden table. "Of course, please... What sort of assistance have you come looking for?" Javaid watched the purple-haired man curiously now though his eye occasionally wandered over to Felaria as she fidgeted beside her human lover.
She still seemed quite agitated that she could not see him, but Javaid could do nothing to relieve her frustrations. He would've happily made himself visible to her, it'd make it worlds easier to communicate with a spirit even if they could not hear one another.

This was difficult. Focusing on two people at once when trying to get his own thoughts in order. He gave a rather frustrated sigh as he ran his fingers through his hair. How was he supposed to explain the situation at all? The situation was far from normal and even if he told the truth he highly doubted this man would believe him. He nodded to Felaria before speaking since he didn't particular know if the Hisstor could hear Felaria or not.
"Felaria and I have been through... just about anything imaginable, and now she's a ghost. I don't even know how that's possible with the way things were going, but she is and I want to know if there's any possible way to... fix this. And if you don't know of a possible way to fix this, then please tell me everything you know about ghosts." Harold looked at the man with a rather pitiful expression. Even if he had to fix this himself, he would. He just needed to know something real about ghosts and not all of the superstitions.
