Notes: This odd little child is a rather frightening mix to all apparel. Everything from his sightless looking eyes to his rather charming demeanor will give most people chills. He is a pure cannibal and will have a strongly imbued desire to obey his urges. His legs are thin, however, and running too long or trying to use too much physical force could crack his bird-like bones.
Cannibalism Trait: This boy feels the strongest urge in his family...though he only wants to eat Aces...no harm in that, right? He only likes to eat tiny bits at a time, possibly even keeping the Ace as a pet for up to a full five years before it would die.
Mental Disorder: This child suffers from Bibliomania.

Basic Magical Ability: He can ignore moderate amounts of pain for up to four minutes.
Moderate Magical Ability: When activated, he gains an immediate proficiency with any weapon that he picks up. This can be activated and deactivated at will.
Strong Magical Ability: When activated, he can inflict mental pain on another Card of any Suit, once per day. The degree of pain is equivalent to that of a nail being forced through every digit one at a time. He can keep it up for four minutes, then feels the agony of his victim himself....
Powerful Magical Ability: When activated, he can control the mind of a lesser Spade for up to four minutes, once per week. The individual being controlled would know and the degree of control would be perfect, were it not for the blood that drizzles from the corners of both his and the victims' eyes while he's in possession.
Jack's Ability: He is immune to any and all poison with exception to fruit of any kind.

Magnifying Glass Ability: This nice old brass piece is a good little collector's item, though it does also work in the perfunctory way. A small tingle ran through the finder's little body upon being grabbed and they will find that, once a week, they are now able to whisper the word "closer" and be able to focus on something clearly and as closely as they wish to for a full 5 minutes.

Background

These quadruplets were born in the middle of the night in mid-winter.
The birth was extremely trying for the mother and after having them, she would have needed private, delicate work preformed by a Corvie, I can only imagine the Corvie allowing one other into the room with themselves and the mother at the time (I'm assuming it was darling Iggy...ready to tear the guys head off if he botched the job. O___o)
The children were extremely needy and voracious, needing to be fed with special bottles and a formula laced with blood to keep them healthy.
Two weeks after their birth, they were all stolen.

No one knows by whom, or why they were taken, but all were removed from the nursery and smuggled away.
Afterward, the children were drugged and kept under lock and key for a solid four years, then dumped unceremoniously on the Tulgey border.
From there, they were left to either stay together, wander away, or try to find a stable home. They named themselves and have a skewed sense of reality due to the drugs, resulting in a small mental issue imbued in each child.

They are some of the only Cards to ever be born looking this similar to one another.
Any of the boys could pass for one another with no effort whatsoever, the girl would have to work at her face a bit, but could also accomplish this feat.

All of these children are cannibals, the strongest born to the board yet.
They may try to resist their urges, but the overwhelming need to do so may make this impossible once they grow.

Highlands

Many consider the Highlands to be the most beautiful Realm in the world to date. Lush, rolling meadows, rich fields, thin stretches of forest, distant mountains, and quaint brooks make the Highlands one of the most respected and idolized Realms in which to work and trade. The residents of the Highlands tend to hold themselves in equally high regard and they are often respected, no matter the rank, if that is where they hail from. It is rumored that those from the Highlands are destined for greatness, and they are often groomed from birth to think so. The Highlands actually border the Courts and even overlap a bit into the Court of Hearts. Many have regarded the Hearts Court as the Highland Court for quite some time, though others have ruled there. Those of the Highlands rarely leave and will often sneer at the thought of breeding with anything other than another Highlander, though they have been known to deign to make love to Avingtons and Yarrows without too much fuss. Highlanders tend to despise those who hail from the Lowlands, as indeed many do, with nearly as much hatred as the Josggiy Marsh dwellers, despising the vague tie to them as “counterparts”. Also, according to the research of one Bernard, all Highlanders are allergic to sunflower oil to some degree.

Josiggy Marsh

The Josiggy Marsh is a surprisingly rich land; its means of trade are quite lovely and job opportunities seem never to end. A beautiful place, it dips down in the valley of the Sorgaire Range, and the residents generally live in harmony with one another. Interbreeding between residents of the Sorgaire and the Josiggy are some of the most commonly seen mixes in the world. The Josiggy Marsh is full of waterlogged meadows and fertile fields that produce bountiful amounts of rice, corn, and other vegetable and fruit crops most of the year round. It is a popular vacation spot and the residents are only too glad to attract these "tourists" to their Realm for additional income. It rains heavily once every three months for about five days, so many residents own small boats or have exceedingly durable houses. Some will even construct houses out of boats. The residents of the Josiggy have a long-standing cold war going on between themselves and the Lowlands, though no one could now tell you who started the feud. Josiggy dwellers tend to take more offense to the Lowlanders than the other Realm does to them and will sometimes attack a passing Lowlander for little to no reason. Josiggy dwellers are often rich enough to move about where they please and many travel to the Courts or the Capitol in order to pursue a new and interesting job or to seek their fortune. They are often of reliable intelligence and friendly enough with most other Realms, especially those from the Selkie Lakes, whom they regard as fellow traders.

Birds

Birds are seen fairly often across the Realms. They are a far cry from hard to find, yet slightly rarer than a Feline or Canine. They are usually found outside of the Marshes, which they tend to despise, and will often roost in the Highlands until chased out by the residents. Birds can be anything from predatory to a common sparrow.

Hoofed Mammals

The Hoofed Mammals are a bit harder to find about the countryside than some of the other breeds. They tend to stay away from watery Realms and favor hard-packed ground over which they are excellent sprinters. They are usually in the forms of deer, horses, and gazelles, though others have been spotted.

Felines

Felines are a common breed. They are found everywhere you look and their lifestyles make it easy for them to stretch themselves to the furthest reaches of the kingdoms. Not to be confused with the Court of Cats (who are the size of a house cat), the Felines of the realm are about the size of tigers and range from sleek Siamese to bulky alley cats in shape.

Heart
The Claw

Hearts are a bit rarer in society, and are also the most revered. For parents to receive a Heart as a child is a blessing and a delight, as the child will probably bring them power that they do not have. The ferocity and short temper of the Suit is legendary, but not necessarily true for all in the Suit. Hearts have a tendency towards recklessness and wildness in their actions, though their ability to muster power at the snap of their fingers is most assuredly true and remarkable. It serves them well as the most feared and respected of the Suits.

The symbol of the Hearts, the Claw, is most fitting, as there is nothing more brutal than to be hit in the face with something sharp; be it their wit, their magic, or their fist, the experience won't be pleasant. Hearts tend to delight in the fact that they are represented as ruthless and unkind. Some of them feel that power cannot truly be gained with kindness, though others resent the fact that their friendships are all superficial and that their lovers are all two-faced. They may attempt to make themselves seem different.

Notes: This little Blobling is not elastic, but more of a thick, sticky substance. It is able to secrete a thick, bubbling foam that smells overpoweringly like motor oil whenever it feels that itself or its master is threatened.
It is extremely possessive and unkind and will only take to its master and people he directs it to be kind to, if Cal ever gets a significant other...things could get sticky.
It will only take to the creature it has bonded to, though if that creature dies, it might consider another.
Once a week, it is able to spit its foam with precision, causing temporary bubbling skin agony for up to one minute.
Bloblings are exceedingly rare, in fact, there are only 10 of them. They cannot breed, cannot be split into multiples, and will not ever be found again. They have a mildly frightening aura and will not be viewed as a normal pet or familiar, many will view them with disgust and trepidation or fear.

Tiny Toy Tail: These little toy tails look ragged and very old. On little belts they have a very old magic in them that makes them wag a little when belted on. One looks like a Sorgaire Feline's, another a Selkie Wolf's, the last a Morganberry Snake's. How cute! One for each of them!When placed on:
The Sorgaire tail allows the wearer to breathe a cloud of freezing mist once a day for ten seconds. The mist is bone-chillingly cold and too thick to see through.

After escaping from the 'bad place', Cal spent some time in Tulgey Wood with his siblings before an encounter with the strange Kafziel led him to move his little family to the Capital City. Now they live there as homeless scavengers.
